Daniel 9:27; "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured unon the desolate."

Daniel 9:24-27 is probably the most fought over verses in scripture for christians today. Instead, let's just do one. Verse 27.

HERE WE SEE IN SUMMARY OF DANIEL 9:24-27 that verse 27 says:

(1) finish the transgression

(2) and to make an end of sins,

(3) and to make reconciliation for iniquity,

(4) and to bring in everlasting righteousness,

(5) and to seal up the vision and prophey,

(6) and to anoint the most holy.

Who finishes the transgression, makes an end to sins, makes reconciliation for iniquity, brings in everlasting righteousness, seals up and anoints the most holy? Jesus Christ.

The transgression started when Eve picked the apple.
"and he shall confirm the covenant," Galatians 3:17; "And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, cannot disannul, that it should make the promise of none effect."

The term covenant is not the same word as treaty.
We separate the Bible into the Old Testament and the New Testament, and the "testament" is interchangeable with the term covenant.
Hebrews 9:15; "And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance."
A treaty is a political instrument that is used between nations and is not a sacred agreement between God and man.
In the Old Testament, God made an agreement with man that if the people will adhere to His "covenant," He would protect and keep them and be their God. This is articulated in Exodus with the children of Israel where God says, "Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people.," (Exodus 19:5) In the very passage in question in Daniel, which is prophetic on its face, God further promises that He will bring the Messiah who will confirm the covenant that He has already made.
Although it is a new covenant in that it brings out certain characteristics that were somewhat veiled in the Old Testament, becuase it is a covenant with Israel, it is actually a renewal of the covenant that God made through Moses. Thus in Jeremiah, God says, "Behold, the days come, saith the Lord, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel." (Jeremiah 31:31)
Therefore, about fifty years after God promised to Jeremiah that He would remember Israel with another covenant that will build upon the existing covenant, He tell Daniel that "the Messiah the Prince...shall confirm the covenant with many.." (Daniel 9:25,27)
Paul stated: "And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after (Galatians 3:17) Through this confirmation, we learn that Christ is the heir of all the promises. He is the Seed of Abraham upon whom the blessings are bestowed, and He is the only one who "brings in everlasting righteousness. (Daniel 9:2).

Israel did not recognize the time of their visitation from God that brought the nation of Israel to the overspreading of abominations that were the natural outgrowth of their refusal to recognize Jesus as their promised Messiah.

The who is easy

1. He shall commit the Abomination of Desolation.
2. He is spoken of by Christ;

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’[c] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17 Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. 18 And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. 19 But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! 20 And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. 21 For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. 22 And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect’s sake those days will be shortened.
23 “Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. 24 For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25 See, I have told you beforehand.
26 “Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. 28 For wherever the carcass is, there the eagles will be gathered together.
The Coming of the Son of Man

29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

We see the timeline.

1. The Abomination of desolation commited in the Temple by the one who makes desolate.

2. Immediately following, The great tribulation.

3. Immediately following, The return of Christ to Earth.

So who is the one who confirms a covenant? But the one who defiles the temple. Which has not happened yet (After Christ)

Immediately folloing this, there will be great tribulation, spoken of by John in revelation.

immediately following this, the return of Christ to the earth, again spoken of in Revelation.

Who is NOT the one who confirms a covenant? Christ.

Well put, well studied, the only thing i would humbley like to add is; the verse concerning woe to them who are pregnant and nursing babay's ??? this also is a very mis-understood verse, and this is probabley the most mis-leading translation i have seen.

Personally i studied through the KJV (not that it matters) but even in that translation of The Word, it is mis-leading in todays understanding of English. (KJV) woe to them who are with child and give suck in those days. ??? this would make no sense at all, If it were to understood literally, but then neither would Gods statement to us about this would either; why do i see every man with his hands upon his loins like a woman in travail?

Were talking about some serious embarrasment here.

Both of these verses are to be understood in a spiritual context. Woe to them who are pregnant, does not mean literaly pregnant as a woman is; it means to be impregnated in your mind; believing that anti-christ is indeed Christ.

To give suck, means to actually help and encourage others to worship the false morning star.

All leading up to: Why? do i see every man with his hands upon his loins like a woman in travail?

Do Not be Deceived JESUS CHRIST

I think we need to go to revelation to see who God is talking to. In revelation God warns the jews to run to the mountains. (the one who gave birth to the child is Isreal)

It is Satans final attack to try to destroy Israel and prevent God from keeping his promise to Abraham (concerning Israel) and God promises to protect them. God also uses this to cause them to repent, and realise Christ was the messiah, And this allows them who live to enter the kingdom age with Christ when he returns.

Hope this makes sense

Matthew 24:15; " When ye therefore shall see (take heed we will see this with our eyes) the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place."
Where is the holy place that we are to stand? If you are in Christ then ye are the temple of God. (I Corinthians 3:16) and 2 Corinthians 6:16; " And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."
The temple of God is the church(not the physical but the spiritual), the spirit of antichrist, the mystery of iniquity has entered the church(the physical one). This has already happened. 2 Thess. 2:7; " For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. Who is that restrainer: Michael .
Revelation 12:7; " And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, (8) And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. (9) And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him."
Jeremiah 2"13; " For my people have committed two evils; they have forsaken me the fountain of living waters, and hewed them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water."
The Abomination of Desolation is the event that brings Gods wrath upon the church. The abomination is idolatry. It is when the church goes into complete Apostasy. At that point the Lord sends the decree and the First Trumpet sounds. This begins the finishing up of things, the "consumation."

Isaiah 28:22 "Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth."
Daniel 11:31; "And arms shall stand on his part, and they (take notice of this word, 'they') shall polute the sanctuary of strength, and shall take away the daily sacrifice, and they shall place the abomination that maketh desolate. This is the man of sin which is the spirit of antichrist that infects the apostate church, the son of perdition is the same spirit that entered Judas. Jesus and John the Baptist both referred to that spirit as vipers, serpents and scorpions. They are associated with covetesness, power. This is the same spirit that Revelation 17:8 refers to as the beast that was which is referring to the religious system that killed Christ. Prophetic timelines runs twice.
Israel, Jerusalem, Judah, are all interchangable and all referr to the church. The Lord says in Matt. 24:15, Mark 13:14 a command to flee the church. The Tribulation is God's wrath upon the church. Come out of her and do not have any part in her iniquities.
Isaiah 37:31; " And the remnant that is escaped of the house of Judah shall again take root downward, and bear fruit upward:
Isaiah 14:13; "For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north:
Satans claim that he will sit upon the mount of the congregation has been realized. The church is controlled by Satan.
The Abominination of Desolation. The bible says when you SEE it.
Christians are God's chosen poeple, Israel. As they support the secular state of Israel and the race of Jewish peopole they are forfeiting their heritage and birthright as the apple of God's eye.
Christians today understand they are born again spiritual Isralites and the bible was written to them. The patterns of apostasy in the old testament are identicle to the apostasy in the new testament. Everything runs twice. Old Israel forfeted their heritage and we are doing the same today.
The Beast is the New World Order, controlled by the Little Horn, which is Physical Israel, who's deadly would was healed in 1948, and the false prophet, is the church.
Christians supporting Israel are forfieting their birthright as Israel. What they are actually doing is worshipping the Beast. Revelation 13 is already well underway.

You don't. Judah is but one tribe of the 12 Children of Israel..

The promise was made to all 12. not one.

Sorry EG; the way i read your post seemed like that is what it said; But remember Christ was of the tribe of Judah; in fact of course, The Lion from The House of Judah.

So all i'm getting at is; that its not just the Jews in Judiah (geographically speaking) that will be running to the mountains to flee The Abomonation of Desolation; But all those everywhere in the world that regognize the flesh heritage of Christ; and not their own ? I think were in agreement. :)

Keep defending what faith?

The one who confirms the covenant is the one who makes abomination. Did Christ make an abomination of the Temple? I Did not think so!!

Jesus speaks of this in his address to the disciples.

15 “Therefore when you see the ‘abomination of desolation,’[c] spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place” (whoever reads, let him understand), 16 “then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains.

This is a direct reference to Daniel 9: 27, "And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate,

Can this be Jesus? Is Jesus talking about himself making the abomination? I can't see this, he is speaking of someone else.

How does he finish his address concerning this time they were looking for?

Matt 24: 29 “Immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. 30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

Jesus, who is the son of man, Not only states it is someone else who will make the abomination. But he also states that immediately following the great tribulation, he will return, and the whole world will see him come in ALL his glory.

You say "keep the faith"

Instead of this. try studying for one, you will see truth. Open your eyes, and you will not be blinded by your own belief and trying so hard to prove to yourself you are right and everyone else is wrong

Daniel 9 has been fulfilled. Some people seem to be reading 1 verse verse 27 and are coming up with a whole doctrine. The Bible needs to be read in context we need to read the whole of chapter 9 and understand it as a whole. Verses 24-27 are an answer to Daniel's prayer. Read the attached file. There is no gap in the 70 week prophecy and it was "cut off" (determined) from a much larger time prophecy

Your right. It is an answer to Daniels prayer. He was praying for his people. and God to keep his covenant and show mercy even though Israel was still in unbelief. He was praying for the city to return to its Glory and its people to return to theres.

This has never happened. Even when the temple was rebuilt. It was not in Glory. And its people were still in unbelief.

Dan 9 is gabriels answer of when the temple, and Daniles people will be returned to Glory. Again, This has not happened yet.

So it can't be fulfilled.
