Do you believe Mary ranks somewhere between God and us?

I believe in one God who manifests himself in (at least) three ways: Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.
Mary is on the same level of us but she is the most honorable of created creatures that have ever lived and will ever live because she received the greatest honor possible.

Still would you more directly answer my question and tell me if you believe in the Trinity? Or do you hold to some form of oneness doctrine?

I told you exactly what I believe. I don’t put a label on it.

Well the thing is you were extremely vague. What you said can be interpreted to be Trinity or Oneness. All I'm asking is if you affirm the Trinity, the very pillar of Christianity.

To be more precise, do you believe that Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each exist eternally, each equal to one another, and of the same substance and nature?

Honestly I don't know why your getting all twisted up over the title Mother of God, the logic behind is simple and really indisputable

Jesus is God, Mary is the mother of Jesus, therefore Mary is the Mother of God.
Beeing Jesus (peace be upon him) have a mother is a good profe for beeing him not God.

I believe God is one person.

I believe he manifests himself in (at least) three ways.

In other words, a man can simultaneously be a dad, husband, and son. There is only one of him, but he is three different things. So it is with God, I believe.

So you affirm the oneness doctrine almost verbatim. Okay that helps me a little bit.

Well since God has no beginning, and had no birth. Mary is NOT the mother of God.

However, Jesus did need a human body to enter to be able to do the work God planned to send him to do. So Mary is the mother of the Flesh of Jesus. She gave him his earthly flawed body.
Jesus body was flawed, However he was not infected with original sin, because he was not of Adam, Thus he was not born dead, as all men are. Thus the reason for virgin birth. Jesus was not infected with the sin nature passed on from adam (men) He was born as Adam was created, free from sin (although his body had the same curse). The difference is Adam failed, and thus condemned all man kind. for as scripture says, when Adam sinned all sinned. Christ lived a life free of sin.

So, you deny that Jesus was both God and Man? And His humanity merely a shell?

How can someone be the mother of just a body?

Question. How can Mary be the mother of the second person of the trinity when the second person of the trinity helped create the heavens and the earth? He also formed mary when she was in her mothers womb. how can the one who formed her have her as his mother?
Are you saying that the Creator of time itself is limited to our temporal understandings?

It seems to me that when you refer to Mary as the “mother of God,” you are suggesting she is a God herself.
When you deny Mary the title, we see it as an implication that Jesus isn't God.

Who cares how others view it, mother of Jesus, Jesus son of God, Jesus is God straining a camel for a gnat, never been pre requisite for the gift of salvation. Be great if we kept with what matters the most, Jesus-Cross-paid in full

ive been away 3mths from this site and the same stew is cooking, simmer - boil, simmer - boil is all this will achieve and then someone will jump up and say - "defender of the faith" yeah right - ones own.

My friend. We should follow charity with everyone.

I have a friend who is a Muslim. We should accept everyone here, not keep people out. Let's follow charity with it and glorify Jesus.

May Jesus bless you.

Here we go. Catholics will argue ALL day on this one.

Why put any focus on Mary when there's only ONE NAME on which mankind is saved?

Next thread, please.

The view of Mary is apparently one that has evolved.

1. Mary is called the Mother of God. AD 431
2. Prayers offered to Mary AD 600
3. Immaculate Conception (that she was sinless) AD 1854
4. Assumption of Mary AD 1950
5. Mary Proclaimed Mother of the Church AD 1965
These dates were taken from, Loraine Boettner, Roman Catholicism, Phillipsburg, NJ: Presbyterian and Reformed Publishing, 1962, p. 7-9.
Mary | Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry <--- ultimate source
After reading the thread, this sounds like splitting hairs.

Jesus IS God, the Only Begotton Son. Mary gave birth to Him, ergo Mary is the mother of God in the flesh. It would be preposterous to say the Creator, Who is the Alpha and the Omega has a creature as His mother since He has no beginning, and He has no end.
Mary is the most blessed amongst women, and I think that honor is superior to anything that humans could bestow upon her. Elizabeth said it! Praise Jesus Christ, amen.

Ramon, i do not hate muslims, i also have Muslim friends, but it's just that if you're a Muslim and you come to a Christian site, You should respect their believes..I will never go to a Muslim site and tell them Jesus is the son of GOD since it's not part of their believes. So i think it's not proper for a Muslim to also do that in a Christian Site. Coming to tell them Jesus is not the son of GOD.

Tanx And God Bless :)

When you get to know a friend, do you ignore his/her family and say that you shouldn't bother getting to know them since your friend's the most important one? Or do you not only get to know your friend, but their family as well?

Of course we are to love all people, but we are instructed to not come together for vain disputes, and further we are forbidden to have anything to do with scoffers, let alone to allow them to sit with us. The best tact in a case of someone intruding the fellowship of those who believe Jesus Christ is simply to ignore the person.
