Can you not read? I said poverty is the reason for most abortions.
So, I asked has abortions helped?
Let's try another way, what is the cause of poverty?
1. Fornication
2. Adultery
3. Divorce
This isn't everything, but probably accounts for more than 50%. Promiscuity plays a big role in divorce and abortion promotes promiscuity by pretending to decrease the consequences of promiscuity.
What the US has done to "decrease" poverty is to decrease the birth rate and decrease marriage. But this is short sighted. Why is it that "whites" own 10x what the blacks do? It is because that wealth was passed down from one generation to the next. If you don't have a generation to pass anything down to it doesn't matter that you aren't living in poverty. I might spend my whole life and only own a house when it is all over, but if I pass that house on to my kids they are far better off than I was when I was a kid. They in turn might have more assets to pass on to their kids. It takes several generations for wealth to accumulate.
4. Drugs/alcohol addiction
5. Lack of education
Education in the US is very different from other countries like Japan. For centuries Japan understood that there is a pathway to wealth and you don't go from the first step the top step in one leap. If your dad is a laborer they understood that becoming a skilled laborer would be a big step up and yet quite plausible. If you are a skilled laborer they understood you could become a contractor. If you are a contractor you could become a developer. If you are a developer your kids could go to university and become CPA, lawyer, business major, etc. By comparison the US education system is mindless and almost completely divorced from the goal of developing a career.
How many drug addicts first used drugs after they graduated from college? There might be some, but the truth is you can deal with 80% of the problem if you focus on your education system. People who do hardcore drugs like heroin are far more likely to have been abused or live in an abusive environment and abuse of children is far more likely among those who are divorced or single mothers.
