In case no one's brought it up:

I John 1:8

"If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us."

When we are saved by God's grace, all our sins have been forgiven, past, present and future. All God sees when He looks at us is the blood of Christ covering us.

This is evangelical false teaching. Scripture tells us that only our past sin are forgiven.

Romans 3:25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

So when Jesus died on the cross to pay for my sins, which sins were they? You believe that Jesus paid for 1 trillions sins for Paul, while He paid for maybe 1.6 billions sins for Peter, and ..... sins for Barnabas, ...

When Jesus said: "It is finished," on the cross, what did He mean?

When I accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, my sins were forgiven and because I was then sinless to Him, I became a Child of God. ... What happens after that?

God has given you that understanding through the scriptures and through the Holy Spirit. This is part of the faith that we have through the sacrifice of Christ and through His shed blood. Don't let anyone take you away from the faith that you have been given by our Lord Jesus Christ. The confidence and assurance that we have through the blood of Christ has dealt with ALL sin. The atonement that was made by Christ was for ALL sin. ALL sin must include the sin of the past before we were forgiven and cleansed, it must include the sin of the present that we might fall into and it must include any future sin that we might make a provision for.

The blood must deal with ALL sin or that would make the blood of Christ only provide for a limited atonement. Then Christ would have to shed His blood over and over to deal with present and future sin. If we can apply the blood of Christ to our past sin, we certainly can apply it to present or future sin when that would happen. Any sin we fall into today has already become our past sin and that would apply to future sin that would find its way into the present. We can look at Christ by faith and see His blood atoning for our past, our present and our future because the His blood is eternal and is not limited to time. How could we be completely justified by the blood of Christ, if only our past sins were included in that justification.

you may end up right and only roman catholics will end up in heaven (i doubt it, but let's pretend)
but to dismiss millions and millions of Reformed Christians with this remark is uncalled for.
if i've said the same about catholics forgive me.

I wasn't dismissing anything, I didn't even intend to argue against her point. Honestly it was just an observation on my part.

When we finally come to the truth, after all the kicking and screaming to ignore the truth, because we loved the flesh and it's ways,we can no longer sin because to be in the truth is to be led of the Spirit,in which a Spirit led life will not sin,so we are not sinners anymore at the point of receiving the truth, for we do not sin.

We are not sinners at the point of receiving the truth, for we do not sin,but we are still sinners from the past but were saved to not sin,but we are still sinners but the sin resides in the flesh,so like Paul said when he did good, evil was still with him,so with the flesh he serves sin, because the flesh is still sinful and does not change, but Paul ignored the temptations of the flesh, but with the mind he served Christ.

The flesh nature never changes when saved, but we ignore the temptations of the flesh, and with the mind we serve Christ. The sin nature is still with us when saved, which resides in the flesh, but we no longer go with the flesh, but with the Spirit. We are still sinners, because our flesh is attached to us,but we ignore the flesh, and are not sinners by being led of the truth by the Holy Spirit.

If people say they are led of the Spirit and it is believable, the best I have seen is they fall in and out of truth, for it seems like once and a while a fleshy thing will come out,and I say what, but I have seen some people for the most part really act a lot like Christ but a fleshy thing will appear once and a while, and I say what.

It happens with me,the little things, nothing serious, but it is still sin,but for the most part I abstain, and after Peter was converted he still held prejudism for 14 years against Gentiles, and Paul withstood him to the face about it,so it might happen once in a while, which is no excuse for it should not happen at all.

God told Moses to be very careful with his instructions building the Tabernacle
Think deep why he wasnt let into the promised land. Ya know its amazing that
anyone could believe we sit in the heavenlies in Christ Jesus in Holy Jerusalem
and yet our future sins were not part of "It is finished" Salvation is of the Lord!

That 'blood covers all sin' argument makes for kind of a fine line between 'unlimited atonement' and universalism. Not meaning to derail this thread any more than it is already, but what is being said here is that Jesus takes away our free will after we come to Him, we will never be able to separate ourselves from Him. I don't know how many Biblical references there are to people that left the true faith in Christ they had found, and were condemned to hellfire because they would not repent.

I don't know if it does any good for me to say more than what Romans 6 does. I guess I would also question what Hebrews 6:4-6 means--why does it reference crucifying Christ afresh? How would there even be a possibility of that if He died for the sins of all eternity?

Love and prayers,

AlexiBlue

p.s. I don't postulate things simply for the sake of argument, but so that all (myself included) can come to a fuller knowledge of the truth, if God is pleased to so use me.

1 John 3:9 Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
Judging from 1 John 1:8, there's more to the picture than what your claiming. Combine these two truths and the options available with a general knowledge of reality. I'm sure you don't claim to have never lusted, coveted, lied, cursed, hated, been bitter, continued a rumor, been a coward, complained or any of the other countless sins since you've been saved. I propose that 1 John 1:8 is talking about our life on earth, and 1 John 3:9 is talking about our sainthood and sanctification of our future in heaven.

The fact is only satan would want a believer to think they are still in their sin.
What if they were taught something wrongly? They're not purposely trying to mislead people because they're mislead themselves. There's a big difference there don't you think? Satan is not mislead, but does the misleading to do damage to the kingdom of God.

Satan is the father of misleading. Anyone who obeys him are mislead. Anyone who is mislead of Satan naturally misleads others. Anyone who is lead by the Spirit testify of Jesus. That he will save people from their sins.

Repent and be baptized for the remission of sins!

Brigitte can you give me scripture about the blood that God sees? Nope! Not in the Bible... But what if Jesus help us PASS THROUGH the blood and through Him so that we are on the same side of the cross as God! You see Brigitte, this is what Jesus meant when He said... NOBODY comes to the Father EXCEPT THROUGH ME!!! We have to PASS through JESUS. We have to get on the OTHER SIDE OF THE BLOOD!!!!! This means washed clean as snow, and then WE ARE WITH THE FATHER>>>> And He is with us. When God looks at the blood of Jesus HE SEES US!!! Becasue we are passed thorugh the CROSS!!! People that are still covered with blood DID NOT PASS THROUGH!!! Jesus says... STRIVE HARD to passthrough MANY TRY FEW SUCCEED! And EVERYONE THAT IS THROUGH THE CROSS IS ON THE SAME SIDE OF THE BLOOD OF THE LAMB THAN GOD.... They are already with God! IN HIM AND IN HIM IS NO SIN... There is NO SIN ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE CROSS!!!!! NONE!!!

About future sin and passed sin... EVERY SIN I NAIL ON THE CROSS OF JESUS IS PASSED SIN. Why past sin... EVERY SIN GOD FORGIVES ME FOR IS FINALLY DEAD!!!! We all have sin that WE DO NOT DO ANYMORE!!! Come on admit it.. THERE ARE SIN WE USED TO D BUT WILL NEVER DO AGAIN... These are the PAST SIN... The sin Jesus removed , taken away, destroyed for us!!! He has put it as far as the East is from the West, and He will NEVER even think f them again... Then there is the sin we still do, WELL THOSE SIN HAVE THE SAME FATE, until ALL unrighteousness are CLENSED FROM US! Until Jesus has removed ALL sin FAR AWAY FROM US. So far as though HE HIMSELF stands between us and ALL sin. That is why the Bible teaches... THE OLD HAS GONE...BEHOLD EVERYTHING IS NEW!!! Let me ASSURE YOU THIS>>> In the NEW THERE IS NOT A SINGLE LITTLE ATOMB OF THE OLD>>>> IT IS NOW ...Cobus 000000 % .... AND GOD 100%... The New ME IS JESUS!!!! The old Cobus is DEAD!!! Dead and Forgotten FOREVER! What is so difficult to understand that if you are DEAD you CANNOT SIN! How does a DEAD MAN SIN??? And how does a LIVING JESUS SIN??? What is so difficult to understand? If you are dead, and Jesus lives in you, WHO ARE YOU THEN??? You are JESUS! How much Jesus? WEll Jesus says JESUS!!!
When SAul was surrounded by Jesus in the light... LOOK WHAT JESUS ASKED HIM.... SAUL SAUL WHYY PERSECUTETH THOU ME!!!!!! Jesus asked Saul why does he persocute JESUS!! becasue every person Saul persecuteth were JESUS!!!! Jesus was in ALL of them. They DIED FOR HIS NAME SAKE!! They DIED OFF ALL SIN!!! They DIED OFF THEM OLD SELVES!!! They are ALL DEAD and only JESUS LIVES IN THEM!! ONLY JESUS!!! ONLY JESUS!!! Come on people Jesus does not live in me YET, and I am sinner... BUT I HAVE A HOPE AND I AM BEING CLEANSED UNTILL I AM AS CLEAN AS HE IS>>>> THEN!!!!!! ONLY THEN He will come and LIVE IN ME... LOOK WHO DOES THE CLEANSING>>>> 1 John 3:3... And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Were you ever as pure as He is pure? Then start purifieth yourselve, you know exactly how!!! MAy Jsus be in me before I die in my old self!!! Die in sin or die in the purifying process, make your choice and stick to it!!! I want to die IN JESUS!!! Amen!!!
