2)Prayers to the Saints.

I have already post explanations why do we Orthodox Christians do our prayers to Saints and why do we hold our hope in their help.

Trough the prayers of our holy fathers,Lord have mercy on us sinners.
You posted an Holy Church Father's explanation of why you venerate the dead.
I showed you in the Holy Bible how this was error.
And the Buddhist's do the same, - deify the dead.

Sorry, but i won't accept anything out of the Church.Your explanations are literally, there r no wisdom in them.
The wisdom is lacking on your part, when you say - "sorry, I won't accept anything out of the(your) church.
You are bound by your own encyclicals.
You are wrapped in your own robes of phoney righteousness.
You are constrained by your own dogma.
(And it is your dogma, don't pass it off as something you have learned)
Each soul is judged separately, no church fathers will be there with you, or me, or anybody....
We each go to the judgement alone.

Oh but you say - - - - "I only followed what I learned"!!
We all follow what we learn, son.
My question to you is, - what are you learning?

Jesus IS Lord of the living, yet you pray to dead saints.
You pray to those who can't help you, - (and thus make idols out of them).
You hold fast to calling Mary(a mere mortal), the Queen of Heaven, - (thus deifying her).
And you venerate other men and women who needed justification just as sorely and as badly as you and me;
you make Gods out of them.
In this you are sorely mistaken,.......mistaken to the peril of your own soul.
In the first commandment God said, - - - "I will have no other gods before Me".

Tell me Geomater,
Is assigning Mary with the title "Queen of Heaven" not making a God out of her????
You tell me.
You say what she is.
You have already said, you have proclaimed her the "Queen of Heaven".

I ask you,......how many robes of righteousness will it take to make you clean if you are wrong?
(No amount of purification can cleanse you from this sin,.....namely deifying a mortal as God.)
God said - - - - "I will have no other gods before me".
Do you think He's joking???

Rick,Mary always was and will be Queen of Heaven. That isn't something new,but very very old.U have to understand that norms of Faith are established because of that what u claim. To split heresy from truth.Church never claimed today one and tomorrow other. Also what i tell u today i'll tell u the same any other day. So,believe me,i do not have any fear until am holding teaching of the Church.
I understand that is something impossible for u,but that is normal thing here in Orthodox Church.

1)Mary as Queen of Heavens.

And a great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet, and on her head a crown of twelve stars. (Revelation 12:1)

Mary here is wearing a Crown of Twelve Stars. As we saw in Joseph’s dream, the stars are a symbol of Israel. Mary is wearing the Crown of Israel. However, the New Israel is the people of the Church, the Kingdom of Heaven. Christ says:

Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have been fighting, that I might not be delivered over to the Jews. But my kingdom is not from the world." (John 18:36)

The kingdom of New Israel is the kingdom of heaven. Thus, Mary is here presented as wearing the Crown of New Israel- she is the Queen of Heaven.

Another important fact is that Jesus is a king after the order of David- he is a Davidic king. Who were the queens of Davidic kings? Interestingly, it was not their wives. It was their mother. Consider this passage:

Say to the king and the queen mother: "Take a lowly seat, for your beautiful crown has come down from your head." (Jeremiah 13:18)

Is this Mary, the church, or the Bride? When was Mary ever chased into the desert? If this happened to her, then the 1260 days is past also.

Geometar,
What's impossible for me, (or any other believer in Jesus Christ), is to make a fallible human being-
(Mary, the saved, blood bought mother of Jesus), equal to Him.
The title "Queen of Heaven" comes from the Babylonian mystery religions,.....and is not based on scripture in any way whatsoever
.

No one do not want to equal Jesus Christ with Theotokos.

This are just but a few.
Is Mary the Mother of Jesus heresy?

Matthew 1
16*... Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
18 ...his mother Mary...
20 ...conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost.
21 ...bring forth a son
23*...bring forth a son...
25*...her firstborn son...

Matthew 2
11 ...Mary his mother...
13 ...his mother...
14 ...his mother...
20 ...his mother...
21 ...his mother...

Luke 1
31*..thou shalt conceive in thy womb...
34*..Mary his mother...
35*...born of thee...
42 ...the fruit of thy womb...
43...the mother of my Lord...

Luke 2
6 ...she should be delivered...
7 ...her firstborn son...
33 ...and his mother...
34 ...Mary his mother...

25 Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!
27 Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home

If Jesus is God, she is the mother of God. Jesus is not man and God separate, this was the belief we got from the very first councils before the bible was put together in or around 400AD. But resurfaced again in recent years because people claim infallibility from the bible.

1. The bible was put together and complete when John finished his letter. It is heresy to say it was not put together until 400 years after it =was complete (not to mention it says God does not have the power to do this)

2. Mary is the mother of the humanity of Jesus, Not his deity, Jesus created the heavens and earth. He also helped to make man in his image, Thus, Jesus was the CREATOR of mary. The created can not be the mother of the CREATOR.

I do not understand u.
If this woman is Mary, then there are several things spoken of her in Rev. 12 that do not seem to be true of Mary. In verse 1, she is clothed with the sun, crowned with stars and has the moon under her feet, before she gave birth. How is this true of Mary during her life? She spent most of her pregnancy visiting Elizabeth. In verse 6, she fled into the wilderness. She was there for 1260 days, which is probably the same as the witnesses were testifying in ch. 11. How and when did Mary do either of these?

I learned an answer to this, but it was from the Roman Catholics. I would like to hear your answer.

Ken,
Please share your answer from the Romans who claimed the be the universal body.
(I'm curious, and could use the info. for future edification in debates)

The vision is of the church. Mary is a "type" of the church, meaning there are similarities. In this case, we, as the Church, are the Body of Christ, and we thus carry Him to the world in need of salvation. Mary carried Christ in her body (as a fetus) to a waiting world. In that sense, portions of the vision reflect Mary.

I see.
Interesting.
But to me it comes back to shoe horning a spiritual reality into a material body.
Mary carried the Christ child for nine months so she carries the church?
Thanks for the info.

She is the Mother of God incarnate, not Mother of God the Father.
God the Son is still equal with God the father. And he was alive and helped in the creation of the heavens and the Earth. so I really do not see a difference between the two.

The Nestorian heresy regarded Christ as a human person joined to the divine person of God's Son. Opposing this heresy, St. Cyril of Alexandria and the third ecumenical council, at Ephesus in 431, confessed "that the Word, uniting to himself in his person the flesh animated by a rational soul, became man." Christ's humanity has no other subject than the divine person of the Son of God, who assumed it and made it his own, from his conception. For this reason the Council of Ephesus proclaimed in 431 that Mary truly became the Mother of God by the human conception of the Son of God in her womb: "Mother of God, not that the nature of the Word or his divinity received the beginning of its existence from the holy Virgin, but that, since the holy body, animated by a rational soul, which the Word of God united to himself according to the hypostasis, was born from her, the Word is said to be born according to the flesh."
