I am confused about this. I have not found any instances of this happening in the Bible, but in 2003 I had hepatitis c and went to a healing service at church, the pastor put his hand in front of me and started to pray, he didn't touch me, all throughout my body, I felt a warm sensation, and I was on the floor! 2 years later my doctor told me I no longer had hepatitis c
Please post your thoughts
I do not believe my healing wasn't from God, and I know God is not the author of confusion, nevertheless I'm still confused! If that makes any sense
Don't think I am doubt your story. I do believe the Lord healed you, but I wouldn't be too quick to believe the pastor "healed" you. Anytime someone in the bible was healed by Jesus or an apostle they were healed immediately. Their illness was instantly gone. It wasn't a progressive healing, and Hep C is a curable disease as well. You did state that 2 years later the doctors told you that you were cured. Which is wonderful, and yes the Lord surely had a hand in that, but I just wouldn't give credit to what happened in to in 2003.
MAny healers in this day will use certain forms of hypnosis to project being "slain in the spirit".
I don't know if you have ever seen stage hypnosis, but it is real. The hypnotist will put many in the audience under a trance, and it is fairly easy to do if you know what you are doing.
The power the hypnotist has on his subject is the trust he can instill on his subjects. A hypnotist can take over your critical thinking and direct your body to do things, but you have to allow him to do so. When you allow this or trust the hypnotist or healer they then can manipulate you to do things you cannot "control".
My guess is the pastor had some type of music playing in the background and said things repetitive like "God is with us today", "Expect miracles", Praise God and so on. All of this is part of the act. He is gaining your trust by increasing your expectations.
The healer will have the audience imagine certain situations. Like being hot, cold, hungry, thirsty,
All of this is a pep talk, and is putting you in a trance. When you enter the trance your subconscious is awakened and you are putty in the healers hands.
When the healer prays certain key words he says will trigger your subconscious to responf to certain commands. When you were thinking earlier about being hot, cold, and so on you suddenly feel a similar sensation
