i feel that what u were getting at, domenic, is that if i search the Bible diligently i will find many places that foretell (prophecy) of the Messiah's coming and even second coming etc. The Bible also tells of many other things that come true not concerning Jesus Christ in particular but maybe some other person or the Spirit or God's Ways or interactions with man or the cosmos. There is alot there, granted. my only disappointed is that you would expect this from a singular source. Of course the Bible is going to justify itself. Is it that great of a fate for Isaiah or John the Baptist to shout, "prepare the way"? They are all of one accord.
I do not like it that i am made this way. That i run so hot and cold on the most serious of subjects. This is how i lost my faith in the first place, i guess. I prayed and prayed that if and when the time or times came that i was ever tested in the fire that i would be given strength. That for that moment if it be God's will thru Christ thru Christ i could make it out the other side.
Then i gave it up and walked away . . .here i am this is what is left after all these years.
sometimes i fear that God has turned from me and hardened my heart, closed my ears that my chance is lost. I tell others love love love but i dont believe it or accept it for myself. can it ever be too late?
Can it ever be to late? Yes. There is a cut off point to everything.
Is it you don’t feel good enough for God? Is it that you feel he has little interest in you? Is it you feel he is ignoring you, and you don’t like that? Perhaps it is how, and why, or they way you pray”
James 4:3 “You ask, and do not receive, because you ask for the wrong reason,”
There are three parts to a payer. 1) Thanks. 2) praise. 3) Petition.
We can not pray directly to God at this time. We must ask these things in Jesus name.
The thanks are for all we receive. The Praise shows your respect and love for him, and the Petition is what we ask for.
James 3:4 says we keep asking, but the payer never gets answered? God says it is because we have asked for the wrong thing, or reason?
So what is the right thing to ask for? God knows our every need. He will take care of that. We have been created to serve God. We are servants. What does a servant ask of the master? “Hay Boss, how about that new car over there?”
“My best friend married a rich guy. Why can’t I be rich?”
Such things would not be the right thing to ask for. You ask what is the right thing?
“Father, how can I serve you this day? Guide my food steps. Give me the strength to serve you Father”
You get it? We ask how we can serve him…that is why he created us.
Another reason prayers don’t get answered, is some people are doing something wrong. They may be doing it in secret, hiding it well…but God sees it, he knows.
If you are doing something you know is wrong…that would have to stop.
Are you doing something wrong?
If you are doing something wrong, that is easy to fix. Stop doing it, ask forgivness, and it's forgiven,,,new day.
