Hi,
I think this is the issue faced by general public here. Beggars in India must be increasing day by day. a foreigner shared the below:
"A stream of people shuffle by asking for money, moving their hands back and forth to their mouth in a universal gesture:I’m hungry. Food please. An old man with stumps for arms holds a tiny metal bowl in front of us, imploring us to drop a rupee coin inside. A woman without legs, a blind man, a young girl with a wild-haired baby on her hip. A child in filthy clothing will be knocking at our shoulder. Hello, hello, hello, she repeats, the words come mechanically from her lips like the bird call of a cuckoo clock. She moves her hand to her mouth, opens her palm."

Yeah its a increasing business in India. You know how far they have gone?? They were engaging lawyers to get out from rehabilitation centers when police forced to do so.. Here, beggars engage lawyers - Times Of India

I used to go to Egmore railway station to get into the train everyday to go to work. (We can say that railway stations in India are the hostel for beggars.) One old man was asking me showing his hand on his stomach, i have called him to come outside as Corporation of chennai have started Food shop in Railway station itself which is available at very cheaper rate like one iddli @ 1/- for the breakfast. Recently they have added pongal too which must be less than Rs. 5/-. noons lunch @ 3/- and 5/-. This has more far better taste than hotels out there.

I have asked him come to that shop i will offer him 5 iddlis for Rs. 5/- which will be enough for his breakfast. But he said, he dont want it. He wants the coffee in that railway station which costs 8/- or wants that money, he will go and buy it..! If these beggars were really begging for their food. They need not to ask more than 5 people. their belly will be filled with this low rate food started prestigiously by Tamilnadu Government.

The same happens everywhere in India. They can easily go and work and earn, there were lots of labours required for work in construction work, restaurants, House keeping, etc..,

What do you think abt it? Its really spoiling the image of India??

This is also an approach in the United States not as extensive but the same observations, weed out the ones that want to be in control (of what you can and will give, I do not give money because they use it for the flesh, alcohol or other things) find the ones that will eat what you give, open the doors of your heart's interest in them as far as they allow, praying that the Lord will open their hearts all the way to Him. This very soon will come to the United States in a greater way.

all seems to give a sympathetic n throws a rupee , but never seems to seek who r they or wts their aim, i read almost shocking report about some a begger a lady who used to sit at the footpath of a busy city , she used to hva baby boy always in her lap . the reality was noone searched whom they were , wt they really had was a sympethetic look n a rupee as i mentioned before, but a reporter guy , he started observing lady for somedays . the thing which he observed was the baby on her lap never seemed to cry or even never moved.we know the nature of a baby n how long it can stay quite. but the baby was always quite. the later investigations found out that the beger's mafia, they used to give druggs or alchohol to the babies to make them always sleep! can u belive that? i felt shocked reading it! wt i learnt reading was, just too open eyes before u throw a rupee n realise as u pay them more n more babies will be there on footpaths sleeping always !

Curb corruption, place stringent no child labor laws in place, make free public education, complete the destruction of the caste system.

The beggar mafia is a disgrace, and the authorities are doing nothing about it. In India, labor laws are just on paper. Most employees end up overworking. So, one can imagine the plight of working and begging children. There are laws against child labor, but just on paper. Sadly, corruption is at its peak.

My heart goes out to millions of homeless kids who get sucked into the mafia. They have lost so much, therefore they refuse to settle down for a simple piece of bread.
