cabin winter 18.jpg

Winter wilderness cabin--2018; A tub catches rain water by the door and snow and ice for indoor use. There are many kinds of passive water catching systems people use off the grid. Rainwater has a unique taste that must be treated somehow with minerals, etc... but I don't know how to do that yet. I mostly buy drinking water in town.
Hub and I love the 'off-grid' lifestyle - years ago we lived without electricity
for about (7)yrs. - it was the best time of our lives! we don't have a cell, or
a tv, or any other of the popular electronics at this time, and don't plan
on getting any of them...soon we will be going deep into the grid...

when dennis' Mother got sick, we had to re-connect in order to nurse her
properly...

we have some unique stories, as of course we know that you do also -
The Lord literally taught us how to live-off-of-the-land, it was a
very Spiritual and truly awesome part of our journey...

there's a young man on u-tube who puts up his 'out-door' journeys
and has so much info in his vids that show how to easily survive in
ways that really don't take a lot of particular skill, but do take a lot
of courage and tenacity - we really enjoy his adventures into the
wilderness and the ways that he shares his experiences, many
times along with his camping buddies - 'Joe Robinet', he lives
in Canada - when he goes out-back, he has certain water containing
filter-bags and just drinks from the waters/snow where he's camping -
he's very entertaining - you might enjoy his vids...

your friends,
dennis and joanna

Man looking at that ice box of a shack I am so grateful that it is high Summer
downunder here in South Oz.
Not a snowflake in sight. :)
