A final Christmas pic--guardian angel and guardian cat! I grew up with a Canadian calico cat that was a lifelong companion that my mother cared for on the farm when I left. I had some pet gerbils, two black ones, and a farm is not the safest place for them. I managed to save the gerbil from a loose dog that had it in it's mouth, and the cat brought the gerbil to the door in it's mouth once. Panicking, I yelled at the cat, which dropped the gerbil! But, i didn't get mad at the cat. That's just what cats do. Mice and rabbits are prey for larger animals in the cycle of nature.
