If you feel suspicious of warm and kind people, questioning their authenticity, I highly recommend you express more of those things more genuinely and often yourself. Not only will it feel more natural and real to you in yourself but also when you see it in others.
It is possible to have kind thoughts, words and actions. Maybe not always, but by golly, often and regular, all for God's Glory.
Therefore if there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion, make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. Do nothing from selfishness or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves; Phil 2:1-3
For the Lord is good; His lovingkindness is everlasting And His faithfulness to all generations.
Psalms 100:5 NASB
For this reason we also constantly thank God that when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you accepted it not as the word of men, but for what it really is, the word of God, which also performs its work in you who believe.
1 Thessalonians 2:13 NASB
I understand being a woman that so many of us want to be loved and accepted by people or our peers. When in reality it is our opinion of ourselves that bothers us more. We can be our worst enemies or our own best friend. God's reflection in our lives is what matters, when we reflect his beauty than we ourselves know great beauty in ourselves!
For God alone, O my soul, wait in silence, for my hope is from him. He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. On God rests my salvation and my glory; my mighty rock, my refuge is God. Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
Psalms 62:5-8 ESV
In church this morning, I read this and thought I'd share...
This is the perserverence of the saints (James 1:12). Because God has given them the gift of faith in Christ, all believers perservere to the end. Every true believer in Jesus Christ gives evidence of his or her faith by enduring trials. This isn't about your ability to hold on to God; it's about His ability to hold on to you. (Phil 1:6).
My new fav verse!!! O Lord , my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me. O Israel, hope in the Lord From this time forth and forever.
Psalms 131:1-3 NASB
The Lord's bond-servant must not be quarrelsome, but be kind to all, able to teach, patient when wronged, with gentleness correcting those who are in opposition, if perhaps God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth,
2 Timothy 2:24-25 NASB
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass.
1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NASB
