I have been crucified with Christ (Galatians 2:20) and there is therefore now no condemnation because I am in Him (Romans 8:1). Though I will surely continue to sin and fall short, God is gracious and merciful and will not turn away His face from me if I return to Him (2 Chronicles 30:9).
Only Jesus, the perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2) is without sin, and so when I sin again as I am sure to do, I will not be deceived into thinking I am unworthy to worship God, because I know that I have an advocate with the Father (1 John 2:1). I am set free from the death of sin because of Christ; I am forgiven. No matter what I have done in the past, God has forgiven my wickedness and will remember my sins no more (Hebrews 8:12).
I will continue to lay aside every sin which clings to me and set my eyes on Jesus (Hebrews 12:1-2), I must put on the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:11), take up my cross daily and follow Christ (Matthew 16:24). No walk is perfect, but we are works in progress (Philippians 1:6), and it is not the “flawless”, but the one who endures to the end, that will be saved (Matthew 24:13).
