so like.... um.. how does one truly turn from backsliding with a desire in their heart to turn back to God...

i think i know a lot of the Lord, i think... and... if i fall into sin, or backslide too far then well... that's it? i haven't been baptized by full immersion, so... i haven't been technically born again in Christ, yet it's been year's overdue... i have read and watched on what can happen after water baptism, which is awesome, but i don't understand why i keep putting it off each time..

i still want to keep going forward to Christ, i don't wish to go back to my old ways. Yet Old sinful things have happened lately, distraction's and idol's have taken my attention off Christ, but slowly i'm trying to put my attention back onto Christ... slowly.

does re-introducing fasting, serving, worshiping, remembering God and Christ, and reading scripture daily help turn from backsliding?

But there is sin i cannot remember right off, i know need's confession.. there's so much to do apparently, and i kinda, can't wait to get a good push from backsliding. and water baptism.

Also, another question, i don't get why some say water baptism won't save you, and that baptism isn't important or necessary, when it says that "those who believe and are baptized will be saved...", and that you need to be born of water and spirit to enter the kingdom. if i remember right, i think my pastor said it's a great display of faith or something..? it's... confusing really... but Jesus went 50-70 miles to the Jordan river to be baptized, so like... clearly it's important, very important?

1. Your born again by the Holy Spirit and not by water
2. Fasting isnt just against backsliding, its to humble yourself and be delivered by things that dont go otherwise. Serving and worshipping and prayer is a lifestyle.

3.Baptism by immersion is a sign to the unseen world that you are COMITTED to God. But you are born again by the Spirit and not by Water. Its simply a part of the Christian life like preaching etc.

4. Pray against bondage. Jesus gives us strenght and authority. use it

Ephesians 2:8:
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith--and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God--

Baptism does not save you, it initiates you to the Christian faith.
So in order to be saved, you need to surrender yourself to God.
That means you say "Lord I give my life to you. But it is not just
saying it in words, it is truly turning your heart to Him. To this
point you have not really backslid because you have never accepted
the Spirit of God. As Paul says in scripture "When you give yourself
to the Spirit, you become a new creation. Your current struggles are
caused by not having gone that full distance. Once you live in the
spirit, you can't go back. Life in the Spirit is such a beautiful place
and you will have nothing to go back to. Your mind will not desire
to return to the flesh but rather grow higher in the Spirit. We are
still human though and we are bound by the human condition which
is less than perfect, but we continue to strive for perfection. We will
still make mistakes but they come much fewer and less severe as
time goes by.

Very Important,

Prayer, prayer and more prayer. We have our petition prayer, that is
asking for our needs which we continue to do. Most importantly
though is prayer of meditation. That is too say, read a little scripture
like maybe ten verses, then put Bible down and say "Here I am Lord
what do you want of me." Then forget any other thoughts and
concentrate on God. This takes practice but it really brings you
nearer to the heart of God. I have never had Him talk to me in loud
thundering words, so listen carefully and you will hear. Hear is the
closest word I can find. There is no word in our English Lexicon that
can really describe it.

So don't say you can't, say yes I can Lord I will follow you.
Please don't think I scolding because really to this point you
have done nothing wrong beyond taking the wrong roads.

God bless and peace and love of Christ be with you.

Hi Keyakku,
this came to mind, after reading your post

Just as I am, without one plea,
But that Thy blood was shed for me.

Forgive me if I'm wrong. Me thinks you haven't chose to be baptized because you believe you can't stop sinning. And therefore will be lost forever.

Hello Keyakku,
Bad news, as long as you're in a mortal body YOU WILL SIN.

Good news, when you truly trust Jesus he assumes & forgives: ALL your sins. Past-Present-Future

1st
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
(NOTE: Whoever BELIEVES in CHRIST!)

Ephesians 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
(NOTE: By Gods loving Grace thru Faith placed in Christ's redemptive sin atoning sacrifice/payment)

Acts 13:38
"Therefore, my brothers, I want you to know that through Jesus the forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you."
(NOTE: Sin forgiveness comes thru faith in Christ's sin payment: His death = sins required wage & resurrection = Gods receipt, payment received & accepted)

2 Corinthians 5:21
"God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God."
(NOTE: On the Cross: a Sinless 2 Cor 5:21, Heb 4:15, 1 Jn 3:5 1 Pet 1:19, 1 Pet 2:22. Became sin, so by faith in him we become the righteous is God's sight)

Ephesians 1:7
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins,
(NOTE: We receive the forgiveness of sins thru faith placed in his shed blood payment)

1 Timothy 2:6 Who gave himself a ransom for all,
(NOTE: a sinless Christ laid down his life for anyone that will trust/believe in his finished sin redemptive payment)

Rev 1:5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
(NOTE: Its faith placed in Christ's sinless shed blood that washes our sins away. Not being dunked in water)

Jesus died on the cross, taking the punishment/judgment that we deserve! Jesus' death provides forgiveness of ALL the sins of anyone that will trust Him. Believe/trust in Jesus today!
See how to trust him Romans 10:8-15

2ndly
John 3:
1 There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews:

2 The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doesn't, except God be with him.

3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
(NOTE: Born again is speaking to a spiritual birth, No reference to water here))

4 Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
(NOTE: This man is a "Doctor of Jewish Law". Abd is clueless as to what Born again/spiritual birth is)

5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
(NOTE: Water & Spirit, no mention of baptism. The key context FLESH comes in the next verse)

6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
(NOTE: FLESH is FLESH Natural/fleshly birth begins in the womb """AMNIOTIC SAC""" with WATER bursting. Spiritual birth comes via the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Only Jesus can preform this baptism. These verses eliminate salvation for fallen angels (spirit beings). One must be born in the flesh in order to be born again/spiritually)

Throughout scripture its flesh/physical then comes spiritual
Cain physical, Abel spiritual
Ishmael physical, Isaac spiritual (See Gal 4:22-31)
Esau physical, Jacob spiritual
Adam physical, Christ Spiritual

1 Corinthians 15:45 And so it is written, The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam (Jesus Christ) was made a quickening spirit
Finally: The moment you're saved, Jesus ETERNALLY SEALS you with the Holy Spirit

2 Tim 1:14 Refer's to the Holy Spirit as a guard & deposit.

2 Cor 5:5, Eph 1:14 & 2 Cor 1:22. Refer to the Holy Spirit as "the earnest" = Pledge.

Eph 1:13, 2 Cor 1:22 & Eph 4:30 Refer to the Holy Spirit as a seal.

2 Tim 1:14 The Holy Spirit who dwells within us, guard the good deposit entrusted to you
(NOTE: The Holy Spirit dwelling within us. Is God's deposit & guards us until the day of redemption. Also see Ehp 4:30 below. When our corruptible bodies are changed to the incorruptible)

2 Cor 5:5 God, who also hath given unto us the "earnest" of the Spirit
(NOTE: God's Holy Spirit dwelling within us is the earnest. Earnest translated from the Greek word: arrabon. Also means a pledge)

2 Cor 1:22 Who hath also "sealed us" & "given the earnest" of the Holy Spirit in our hearts
(NOTE: God has placed His Holy Spirit in the believers heart. As a pledge & a SEAL until the soon coming day of our redemption)

Eph 1:13 salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were "sealed" with that holy Spirit of promise,
(NOTE: As soon as we believed. God sealed us with a promise = His Holy Spirit).

Eph1:14 Which is the "earnest" of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession
(NOTE: God's Holy Spirit dwelling within us is the earnest/pledge. A down payment on our final redemption. When the Lord himself shall descend from heaven, meet us in the air. And in an instantaneous transformation he will change our corruptible bodies into the incorruptible. And so shall we forever be with the Lord Also see 1 Thess 4:16-17)

Eph 4:30 grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are "sealed" unto the day of redemption
(NOTE: Believers are SEALED with God's Holy Spirit. It a promise & a guard the soon Christ will come for us)

1 John 5:13 13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
(NOTE: John writes: that you may know ""PRESENT TENSE"" that you have eternal life)

Romans 11:29 For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
(NOTE: God doesn't go back on His Word)

See how to trust him Romans 10:8-15
