(and/but/or/didn't ) children LOVE YAHSHUA? they didn't climb on His lap because He was yelling at them, nor talking down to them (as if He ever would or even could).....

who do children love? then , and today? JOYFUL, PEACEFUL, RIGHTEOUS (right with YAHWEH) LIFE LIFE LIFE IN YAHSHUA.

joyful, peaceful, righteous (right with Yahweh) life life life in Yahshua is very very very rare today.

Joke around?

The only times I know of God laughing in the Bible are when he laughes in derision at His puny enemies, as in Ps 2. He did include quite a bit of humor in His Bible though. In 2 Kings 4 we read,

O man of God, there's death in the pot!

As to the Lord Jesus during His earthly ministry we read that He was a man of sorrows & acquainted with grief.

Wow. What a buzz-kill! I suppose you're one of those Christians who believes all fun, enjoyment and laughter is sinful then?

There is such thing as "godly/clean fun," so I think that He must have had a sense of humor. I mean imagine Him as a kid, there must have been days where he played games all day in the dirt and just laughed His little savior tail off. :D

I keep thinking back to that wedding where Jesus thought, 'now that everyone's buzzed Let's bring out the good stuff'..

Of course I jest but a Guy like that has to have a sense of humor.

yes, there is unspeakable, unbeleivable JOY in Yahshua Hamashiach (Jesus the Savior),

but with many sorrows (like "your heart shall be pierced" and "woe to you who are comforted now" "blessed are you who suffer now, for you shall be comforted"....)

because, like Lot (declared by God's Word a Righteous man) , we live in the midst of much wickedness and great evils,
and Lot was every day sorely vexed (almost driven crazy; but for the grace of God)...
so, we, too.... who God declares His Own...... are vexed daily by the wickednesses all round .....

and the Joy of our union with Messiah Yahshua is not diminished, nor is our Peace lost, we whose mind is set on Him.

but our Joy and Peace stands out like a light divine in the darkness around us, a sure testimony of Jesus' Faithfulness !

Naw, Atwood is probably right?........Jesus never laughed or took a joke in 33 or so years?
Seems completely in His character to speak in parables, even when He asked someone to pass the fish platter?
Never did He have ANY down time in His long walks with the apostles, to shoot the breeze and have a moment of fun.

What sort of Christ do people think they're following?
:(

by number ? 2,000,000,000 think they're following the pope. (read the history elsewhere) . and when they kill the believers, they think they are doing God a favor.

as for the rest of the people.... there's over 3'000 false religions promising something, delivering DEATH.

but, GOD'S PROMISE IN JESUS, is "WHOEVER seeks ME, will FIND ME" and that is God's own word, which God honors more than He honors His own Name .

so, in the midst of sorrow, persecution, tribulation, remember Jesus' word to those who ARE HIS "in the world, you will suffer a lot of pain/persecution/ tribulation; but , BE OF GOOD CHEER !!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

I (Jesus) HAVE OVERCOME THE WORLD. " so those who ARE HIS, have now, today, already, righteousnes, peace and joy, and eternal life to boot ! all by God's Planning and God's Doing and God's Accomplishing through Jesus. ..... for the little children who FAITHFULLY TRUST HIM. (again, trusting HIM to accomplish all pertaining to salvation and life now and forever). (few, yes, few)

Jostein Gaarder said in one of his books, after talking about how God looks down on earth seeing us as small ants going about our business: "God sits in heaven, laughing at those who do not believe in him"

Well, I don't agree with him that God laughs at unbelievers, but I most definitely think he has a sense of humor (though it migth differ from ours). Actually, I am convinced. Think about it: haven't you had prayers that were answered in strange ways?

Well, I don't agree with him that God laughs at unbelievers,
Actually He does, but He is God, so He is able to do it in an edifying way.

Psalms 2:1 Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? 4 He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.

Kind of like Elijah here:
1 Kings 18:26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made. 27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

Elijah does not wish them evil. He is saying, okay guys, this is beyond sad and ridiculous...
Laughter, even satire, can be very edifying/educative when it speaks for the truth.
God laughs at every bit of science and imagination of man that exalts itself over Him, and laughs further as inconsistencies are demonstrated and the house of cards falls down in an epic manner.

yes, the sinfulness the world and the church is full of is not just negative, but deadly.

the only solution God gives is to admit it, not deny it, and call on Him to be saved from it.

it is written that several billion alive on earth remain NEGATIVE - they always STAY NEGATIVE, instead of repenting and being cleansed of their sin,

but Jesus STILL ANYWAY DIED FOR THEM AND FOR YOU TO BE SAVED. why don't they ? they LOVE SIN. it is written, more than they LOVE GOD.

Jesus DID NOT DIE to save people from something POSITIVE!? no. but from gross, immoral lives... from negative life.

and He says, no one can be a FRIEND OF THE WORLD (negative in sin) AND a FRIEND OF GOD(positive, and few). it's a choice. one or the other.

everyone agrees that the discourse between the blind man who Christ healed and the Pharisees in John 9 is hilarious i hope?

well think about this: Jesus didn't tell this man at first anything but to wash in the pool of Siloam - which means "sent" - and there when he obeyed he received his sight.
later, Jesus found him (the text doesn't say the man found Jesus, but that Jesus found him -
John 9:35) and received and taught him.

did Christ not know this man and what would happen if he was miraculously given sight at the pool called "sent" ? do you believe Jesus knew this man's character and what kind of witness he would be to the Pharisees that questioned him?

doesn't it seem to anyone else like this is our Lord "pranking" the Pharisees a little bit .. ?

:D

Jesus is awesome.

That kinda goes along with Him being asked about paying taxes. I can almost hear Him thinking "you thought you'd trap me didn't you? HA!"
