This meme annoys me. Why? You ask. Because these are two actors playing fictional characters in a movie called, The Notebook.

It's a nice movie and the characters have a nice love story. If you've never seen it, it goes something like this:

Noah and Ally come from different sides of the track. She's got wealthy parents, he's kind of poor and maybe edgy. They meet and fall in love. Ally's parents aren't pleased. They want Ally to marry someone from their side of the tracks. Well Noah and Ally spend this very romantic Summer together. Noah says things to Ally, that men don't usually say, well unless they're very poetic. So the Summer ends , Ally's got to go back to rich world and Noah has to go back to collecting cans ( not sure what his actual job is.) and working on this old house he bought. Noah writes all of these beautiful love letters to Ally, but Ally keeps returning the letters. What Noah doesn't know and Ally doesn't realize is, Ally's Mom is like, No way Romeo, ain't no way my rich princess is marrying some can collecting, Scooby Do, scary mansion house fixer upper.. So Ally's Mom is the one returning the letters! And you thought your family was screwed up.

So Noah the persistent fellow keeps on sending letters and Ally is clueless because apparently she can't ever walk to the mailbox before her Mom does. So these two broken hearts try to move on.

Ally meets some rich cat and Noah just keeps stewing in misery and works on the spooky mansion. But Ally can't get Noah out of her head. So Ally who is now engaged, takes a road trip to the spooky swamp mansion. She confronts Noah and poor Noah is blindsided because he thinks Ally is the one blowing him off.

Noah shows Ally all the letter's. Ally is dumbfounded and upset and of course this leads to more romance and stuff. So Ally has to make this decision, stay with fiancé or go with can collector Noah, of course we know what she does.

They keep showing this older couple in the movie but I don't want to spoil it for you.

They never show the real stuff. If Ally and Noah had children, or money problems or throw downs. So all of that romantic mushy stuff is nice but it's not real life. If you're waiting for an Ally or Noah to come along go to the library and borrow the book because that's as close as you'll come.

Sooooo, The Notebook is like every other love story out there, huh? Glad I didn't waste my time watching it. (Never going to waste my time reading romance novels. lol)

As far as romantic stories go, I really like Mary and Joseph. Goes like this:
Both sides of the couple grow up on the wrong side of the tracks. They fall in love and plan to marry, when an angel comes along and tells her, "Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. No, really. Literally. The Lord is with you. Inside. You're pregnant and the child is the Savior. I'm not kidding. Truly, truly."

And then the angel goes to Joe and says, "S'up, dude! Got one you're going to have a hard time believing..."

And somehow God gives these two kids the grace to get married, and, boy, oh boy! You should see where she delivered the baby!

It gets weirder. 12 years later, the boy gets lost, and where do they go to look for him? Church! (Okay, so some updating here. lol) And he's teaching the teachers and the teachers are impressed with him. Doesn't that just warm the cockles of any parent's heart?

Something else happened, because next thing you know Mom is taking son to a wedding, and the host run out of wine. Somehow Mom knows the son can handle this and fix everything.

Weirdest part -- Mom and Dad lived happily ever after even with that unusual kid, along with the rest of their kids. We're pretty sure one kid became a writer, but you should see what happened to that Savior. Enough to break any Mom's heart.

Good story. NOT normal for a romance. Real!

That's a good romance and real. I didn't hate the movie ,The Notebook, it's a nice story, but it's definitely not real. I'm sure parts of it are relevant to some people but I keep seeing that meme pop up on Facebook and I just want to tell my single friends who post it, look for the real thing. This might be why your relationships don't last because you're expecting a fantasy and you're going to be disappointed when it doesn't live up to your expectations.

I wouldn't say that to someone unless they asked for my opinion, but no one ever does, lol.
