I've read The Shack many times because there is so much to take and use in your everyday life and it is so simple to understand. It is a wonderful book.

Ya! I loved that book. Whether its true or not, i believe how God is portrayed is spot on. I reminds you that God isn't some distant entity, he's right next to you. Its totally changed the way i pray, i no longer pray as though im leaving God a message on his answering machine, i talk to him as though he's right next to me. Ive talked to a few people though, that didn't much like the book. Mainly because of how God is depicted as a black woman, they just cant picture it. But the thing is, noone knows what he looks like! Regardless, its a good read.

I loved it too. - And who cares if God is black woman or an old white man? ... God is Spirit, so technically he can be/ show himself as whatever he wants to. If it had been another person, perhaps he had been in another form.

and I really loved the "God is a verb"- philosophy :)

I really liked the emphasis on walking in true freedom instead of independence. I like to stress on relationships instead of rules. God being the Black woman for the time it was necessary to break all the stereotyping of God and some of the religious strictness some religions attach to God was necessary to get God's message across. There are so many wonderful ah-ha moments as you read and take it in. There is also a book called, Finding God in the Shack, and the author tells what the experts say, what the Bible says, and what he says about the major concepts brought out in The Shack. Many churches are using it for study with their teens.

:) I am reading The Shack now. It is a very good book I am not THAT far yet but so far I love it, yes very easy to understand too and not a "THICK" book so if you read it everyday it would not take long at all to read the whole book. God bless everyone!!!
