Can be used for both good and evil. I probably wouldn't have a bible if it wasn't for the internet and we wouldn't have this community.

It's like anything else. It's a good tool. Until a tool starts using it. Then...

Consider the Apple.

Is it evil?

Well, it is a gift from God, but, has it not been used (in times past) as a tool for evil? The whole "poisoned Apple" thingy?

I see the Internet in the same way.

I'm with you on this, Brother.

I like the good ol' days when people were more social, active zombies.
The days when being glued to their T.V's and land line phones was cool, ya know?

.... when stalking was done with binoculars and people were getting great exercise from following them around?

What is happening to this world.

I assure you I need neither TV nor internet to be a walking zombie. I am a master at getting lost in my own thoughts.

The internet is not evil but some people do have evil minds which they put on the internet. It also depends what people are searching for it is our choice we have the power to see anything on the internet so its down to us to make the right one.

And before the internet, people were glued to their televisions.

And before the television became popular, people were glued to their radios.

And before that, I suppose people were glued to their harmonicas, violins, whisky jugs, etc.

And before that, people were glued to......you get the picture.

I have noticed, over the least few days, with the tragedies in Nice(France) and the Coup(Turkey), that people seem to be more interested in using their cell phones to get videos than to help people who are laying near death on streets. That is worrisome to me.

Priorities, people(me included!) -- and not only in emergencies. There is life outside of our computers and phones.

pretty much, all I can say is it is time to bring back natural selection instead of the nanny protect the stupid state we have.
Nature never selected. God does.

This could be an argument in itself. Is Apple or Microsoft evil?

(What was that about people spending too much time on the Internet? lol)

I do remember the days when I saw someone walking down the sidewalk having an animated conversation with no one else nearby, I knew they were delusional. Nowadays it just means their phone is hidden on an ear.

When paperback books came along, everyone was sure families would be disconnected forever.

When automobiles came along, Congress was considering outlawing them. The sidewalk and roads were for people to enjoy, not those blasted monsters. Many city people died because people were used to playing in the streets, gabbing in the streets, even picnicking in the streets, and the cars didn't see them, so killed them.

Lest you think speed was a factor, the speed limit was set to 4 miles an hour and still they were killing people.

Congress was beginning to enact laws against the automobile right about the time Ford made the contraption within the price range of the middle class.

The one thing you never want to be called if you live in a city is a country bumpkin -- a jay. Car manufacturers used that weakness. They started advertisements to teach people not to be jay walkers -- watch where you're going when crossing a street, look both ways before crossing, and only cross at corners, where cars stop to look both ways themselves. It worked. Instead of making cars illegal, they passed laws against jaywalkers and raised the speed limits. By the 1920's, children were trained how to cross streets, and to watch out for cars if they played in them.

Every generation has some horrible invention that is "the end of civilization as we know it."
