If my main focus is on someone else's walk who is guarding my house so the theif of always won't take away the life I was given. I don't want to be the nosy neighbor who doesn't have a life but to be a spectator of someone else's life. I have salvation that must be walked out and worked out with fear and trembling.
The reason I'm typing this out is because I got caught up in the media of people gossiping about famous Christians and I kept my focus so much on their lives that I got discouraged when the Christian singers I idolized did things that made me question their salvation. God whispered softly in my ear Kisha keep your eyes on me. Don't make your focus on the personal lives of others cultivate your personal life in my presence let me sow my words and my visions in your mind and heart.

It's true. Our focus should be on God, not people. But it is a balance. We are called to also watch out for one another. Not in judgment, but to aid each other's walks with God. But definitely if we become too focused on others we lose the spirit of what God intended when He told us to do so.
