I would like to tell you all a story. A story about ME, just tryin to get to school. The devil was tryin to bring me down this morning and He called upon his evil officers of ''justice''.. ie Policemen and state troopers, to pull me over.

Here i am mindin my own business, drivin down the interstate in the HOV lane, there are no other cars in front of me or behind me, and mind you im drivin straight. When all of a sudden i see a demon disguised as a state trooper on the side of the road. He jumps in his car and starts tailgating me with his lights on. So obviously i have to pull over and rebuke this evil spirit.

I roll down the window and as im about to start praying he says. License and registration please. So im thinkin, registration. Whats that?? It sounds familiar, but i really cant place it. He must have been speaking in tongues. So i just hand him my licenese and he says, ma'am you know you were speeding, i just nod my head and he says i clocked you goin, and of course i open my mouth and say 80, before he can finish (128 kph) He looks at me and has this evil smile on his face and says, NO, 75 (120 kph) but since you said 80 thats what i'll give you a ticket for. He goes back to his deamon transportation ship and checks my licenese out and i know im pretty much done for here because ive had a liiiiiiiiiiiittle bit of a speeding problem in the past, He walks back to my car and says i'm gonna add reckless driving on top of that. Please sign here. I wanted to throw the pen at him and drive off, but then he would have summoned all his other demonic friends.

Reckless driving, How can you be driving recklessley driving in a straight line, i wasnt weaving in and out of lanes i was on one road driving straight, and there was noooo one else around me!

Was this an attack from the devil or justice because i was so called ''speeding'' Has satan ever sent one of his friends to pull you over while your driving????

Police are actually told that they need to hand out tickets to meet a quota in bringing in money for the system.

Many christians, at one time or another, have been stopped for speeding, (myself included). The usual responses are to politely cooperate or to act a little out of character by showing our disgust at the strict and sometimes uncaring way they administer the law. If we are able to receive what the bible says concerning governing authorities, which would include the various police departments, God has some things to say on the subject.

Romans 13 says, Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for the authorities that exist, have been established by God. Consequently, the one who rebels against the authority, is rebelling against what God has instituted and those who do that will bring judgment on themselves. Because the rulers are not a threat to those who do right, but for those who do wrong.....

From the institutions of government, to the municipal authorities in the smallest towns, we as God revering christians first, and law abiding citizens second, are expected to conduct ourselves in a manner which reflects good understanding and good character. I myself have wanted to consider the lot of them, as power hungry control mongers looking for their next victim. However, I know that they have their God ordained place and their responsibilities.

Having lived in Japan for 5 years and having visited Korea and the Philippine Islands, as well as living most of my life in the U.S., I can tell you that there is no perfect system of justice and there are always a few within the system who break ranks and create there own sense of justice by personal means, (and there are ways to deal with those occurences through the courts), but I am convinced that until those systems begin to war against God himself and his people, by preventing christian practices, prayer, fellowship and bible reading, the ideals that these systems were founded upon remain noble. Heb 12:11, Now no discipline, when it occurs, seems to be joyful at the time, but rather grievous, but afterward it brings about the peacable fruit of righteousness.

It stings a little, but God is ultimately in control, as we slow down and think about it.

I want to speak in the defence of cops. First the reason fer reckless is because of the high rate of speed. Once you go past a certian point of speeding{ it varies from one place or another in amount} it is considered reckless. Second, very few departments have quotas anymore and in some quotas are frowned apon as the reason to pull you over is to insure your safety and others. Cops pull you over because that is their job. But mostly if all speed, chaos would prevail. I speak in defence because a family member is a cop. I know how many times he was beside someone as they died. Not because we have accidents but because of the damage caused by speed. You watch several people die, then have to tell the ones that love them that they lost their loved one then you see why they care enough to pull you over. My daughter is a paramedic. She has seen far to much loss also. The cops I know are caring and commited to keeping you safe. Thats why they do the job they do. Yes there are some bad cops but they are few.Smiles, Now I want you to know that being mad and joking about the cops is what we all do and Im not trying to be all rightious and get on your case. I just wanted to let you know they are people too and they do care. So if there is ever a next time and you get a grumpy cop... maby he or she reciently had to sit with one who died. The family members I love have had to do this reciently. I hope you get your ticket reduced, smiles and Godbless, pickles

There's always a few bad in the bunch that like the power and abuse it but in general I think there's not much to complain about, don't speed and you'll have no problems.
I know a lot of people who complain about being pulled over for being 5mph over the limit and I agree it is pernickety, but why do it in the first place? is that extra 5mph going to make that much difference to your journey?

I don't drive myself so I suppose I can't really understand but whenever I drive with my father or my sister they turn into different people and become more aggresive and confrontational than they ever are normally, I don't know what it is about driving but it just seems to bring out a unique quaity in them and it's not a good one.

I know its easy to be flipent but I will suffer the rest of my life because of someone going to forty in a thirty five. He did not have the time to respond because of his speed. I was rearended. It fractured a disk in my back causing it to rupture damaging nerves. I lost most of the use of my right leg. I have gained some back but drs tell me it may not last. I know it does not seem like a big deal. Im no saint, Ive gone over the speed when in a hurry. Not much now though. The thought of causing another harm is just not something I coud live with. It may seem redicules but being on the recieving end changes your attitude real fast.

Sadly your right about that. All to often the same will continue to commit the crime. But the hope is that that ticket or the worry of one will keep the good still good. You know, if you think about it there is a comparison to obeying Gods law. Maby its less about earning his love and more about saving ourselves and others from hurting ourselves and others. Smikes and God bless. pickles

One time, i was driving back to my college after hanging out with some of my friends. It was about 2-3am and I went through the turnpike, and was on the ramp that MERGES onto the highway. There is LITERALLY nowhere else you can go when you are in this lane. It's a MERGE lane. There was NO ONE on the road except a cop car stopped on the side waiting for speeders. So I merge into the lane and keep going, then I notice the police lights behind me. He pulled me over because I didn't use my turn signal while MERGING onto an empty highway. I was compltely flabberghasted. I know he was only pulling me over to see if I was drunk, but come on. I wasn't swerving, I wasn't driving too quickly or too slowly, I wasn't weaving in lanes, I was sitting straight and alert in my seat, and had NO signs of being drunk. Was it really necessary for him to pull me over? And mind you, I have anxiety attacks, so when he pulled me over, I had to fight to breath, fight to be able to talk, fight to keep the fear of getting a ticket because I'm a broke college kid down just to hand him my paperwork. I don't think I deserved to be put under that kind of emotional distress just because he wanted to make sure someone minding their own business wasn't drunk even though they weren't displaying signs of it.

I didn't get a ticket, I got a written warning to use my turn signal in a merge lane...which makes no sense to me. Turn signals are to let people know your intentions right? Aren't your intentions IMPLIED when your lane becomes another lane and there is NO WHERE ELSE TO GO? Seriously, there are murderers, prostitues, gang members, pedophiles, and rapists on the street, and my tax dollars are going to cops to pull people over just because they have to drive late at night.

Yeah, I agree that was a petty stop. Your probably right about looking for drunks. Hope you never have to go through it again. Im the kind that starts to cry when pulled over ,cant help it . I think its a stress thing. And from what I told cops hate it when you cry. lol
