I can only post the link on my iPad

One day I heard my kids sing along with

"I'm the grumpy old troll who lives at 106" (our house number)

Guess who they were talking about?

Do you think I'm being a troll in the Flat Earth thread? LINK
*crickets*

========================

The reason I ask is because I don't think my posts in that thread could be considered trolling. I mean, the mere fact that I don't believe in Flat Earth Theory does not make me a troll. The questions I've asked in that thread are legitimate questions (e.g., How does FE account for satellites in orbit around the earth? What happens if you fall off the edge of the flat earth?) And yet I've been put on ignore by some of the FE proponents on CC because I think FE theory is poppycock. Oh well. lol :)

That's funny, partially because you are one of the least grumpiest people on CC :D

I am not a flat earther, but I think I know the answers that are given to these types of questions. 1. Images from NASA are a lie. 2. There is a wall that prevents people and other things (including water) from falling off the edges of the alleged flat earth. So, once you have been given this type of answer, to persist in asking them may seem to a flat earther like you are just trying to provoke.

I don't think those people really think the earth is flat.

I believe they do. They think that we have all been blinded by "science."

Reminds me of Thomas Dolby :rolleyes:[SUB][SUP]

I just can't imagine someone with enough intellectual ability to come onto the internet, and write a sentence, really believes this.

I guess it could be mental illness.

Not necessarily some people like a good "conspiracy" I use to think on such things like aliens or scary monsters,and ghosts,for fun,now I focus on what things are "actually true" instead of working myself with a bunch of "what ifs".

I know what you mean, and yet, they are intelligent people, and some I have met have sincere hearts for God, and base their beliefs on Scripture. Their understanding on this matter varies greatly from ours', but that is not a reason to consider them unsaved or ignorant.

You would be surprised. There is a guy who owns a liquor store that i pass by a lot on my walks who is convinced the earth is flat and I am polite to him but I cannot reason with him he calls me a delusional moron who is brainwashed

I did not say you said they were unsaved :) I included that in there because, hmmm, why did I say that? Well, I have met people who have tried to say I am not a Christian or that I do not understand/read/know Scripture simply because I have a different understanding than they do on a particular point. That sort of talk is kind of trollish :p And ignorant, too. It is hard for me to wrap my mind around a flat earth, but it is not a hill to die on, either, as some people say. I appreciate those who understand the physics and all that of a globe earth etc but it is all rather beyond my level of intelligence to investigate to that degree. I do find it interesting, but in the grand scheme of things, it just does not seem like something worth a lot of my time, attention, and energy, which are limited LOL. That is the beauty of the body of Christ. We all have our strengths, and serve according to our abilities. Don't ask me what purpose contending for a flat earth serves, because I really do not know. I can still love those who do, though.

Irony is indeed what I would call it but then again flat earthers and us who actually understand science both seem think the same thing of each other

If we can't even agree that the earth is round (some of us, anyway), is it any wonder that there's so much disagreement over interpretations of the bible? It's a wonder people can agree on anything at all. lol :)

Well the best thing we can do is try to get along even while vastly disagreeing and pondering each others sanity while of course at the same time secretly wondering what made each other so mentally ill and I have found if you need to blame something the most perfect thing is to blame the internet:b

The thing is with trolls, having tried to have a different perspective on them;

Here is a person. Obviously troubled in some way, wants to shock people, because they feel numb.

Now you can condemn that person. You can push them away. And they will go try to harm someone else.

But you also have the power, as a child of God, to change a persons heart, to try and understand them, to make them see themselves.

I only say this because I tried this different perspective. And in empathy, it was sad to see just how troubled, and how much abuse and terror, this person had been through. And in not being able to deal with it, they became a little terror themselves, because they wanted to be judged. So the seeking out and by appearance, destructive nature, was more engaging with trying to be judged as brutally as possible, and feeling nothing from it, feeling powerful, yet deeply inside, powerless.

So yes, you can protect yourself, or a site, or a place from them - but at the same time, maybe you can help someone be a better person too, who is greatly in need of love rather than the appearance of judgement or hate. And out of that, maybe someone else won't become a victim of them.
The wicked shall perish, but the sinner shall be saved. It is important to know the difference by the fruit. :)

Jesus spoke to Pontus Pilate, yer would NOT open His mouth to King Herod.

Be as wise as the serpent and as harmless as the dove. :)
