Philippians 4:8-9 Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable-think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me-put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Can anybody explain to me what edifies God and others by being entertained from violent video games, movies and TV shows? What do these images teach our children?

Violent media have negative impact on children’s behaviour, from night terrors to aggression. Little ones have a difficult time distinguishing reality from fantasy making them more vulnerable so we should carefully monitor what they watch. Get wholesome educational DVDs and watch with them. It’s crucial that you set a good example for them; don’t go to your own little corner and start watching violent and immoral T.V. programs and expect that your child will not imitate you. They will. Children love to imitate adults.

I understand what you're saying and I don't think children should be exposed to such things but I think older, more mature people are different. They can be discerning and understand that the truth isn't always puppies and rainbows.
