4'11"

(...which actually is tall among some family members on my father's side...)
4'11"?? I bet it's cold down there. :p

Truth...my mom was 4'11.5"(she always rounded up to 5') and dad was ~ 6'3". It was funny to watch them give each other sugar before dad left for work. She'd have to tip-toe and dad would have to bend down. It was comical. You can bet us kids poked fun at them, too.

God rest their souls. I sure do miss them both. :(

When I was little, I used to tell my older sister that when I turn 8 years old, that I would be grown up, & that I could do what I wanted then.
So I never got any rest after sharing that with her, every time she saw me she would say out loud into my face.
I'm 8 I can do what I want!!!!
Oh boy, did I cop it off her I wished I never told her that, she drove me crazyyyy!!

Moral of this story!
Do not share your beliefs with older Siblings, because you may end up.....Crazy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:eek:

Proverbs 17:17 (KJV) A friend loveth at all times, and a brother [or sister] is born for adversity.

I'm not sure that's what the verse means, but it does fit. :)

My grandmother lost half an inch in height and gained half a shoe size every time she had a baby. By the time her babies were having babies she was 5 foot tall and size 10 shoe (American women sized. That's the average size of a man's shoe in America.) So, being sweet, well-behaved, considered children taught carefully by our uncles, (two, over-six-feet-tall uncles showed us, so Gram was game), we all ended up measuring how tall we were by when we could put our elbow on Gram's head. Most of us could put our elbow on Gram's head around fifth grade. Admittedly, I was only her height, but if you try hard you can put your elbow on the head of someone your height. (Eighth grade, before I could do it like my uncles.)

There are six siblings in my family. If you want to see that in action, come to one of my family gathering, and ask, "So, what do you think about God?"

I don't know about that. My mother was 4'11" tall, but you wanted to keep her happy. She had auburn hair and a ruddy complexion. When she got mad her Irish came out. She would get all red and then the fireworks would start. Like when I stayed out all day without calling: when I got home she is standing there with a switch in her hand. I didn't do that again. I remember her tearing into my older brother when he was 16 (me about 10). It looked funny: a little woman scurrying around this big kid paddling him. By the time I was 13, I figured how to stay on her good side.

I heard that if you went to hell and stoked the devils fire for 100 years you can go to heaven. I cant remember where I got this idea from but it seemed a good deal at the time. Why it was only a hundred years I have no idea perhaps the coal was rationed.

That leads to many questions...

1. Why would the devil want it stoked? He's the one burning...
2. Is this a mass stoking or does everybody have to take turns? If you're already stoking when I die, do I have to wait around until your hundred years are up? Or can I pitch in and stoke and get my hundred years started?
3. What happens when the devil runs out of volunteers to stoke? A hundred years is a long time, but even if all the people of the world were waiting to take their turns the devil would eventually run out of stokers. Nothing finite can last for all eternity.

*sigh* Hush Lynx...

Sorry tanakh, I'm not making fun of you. I'm just a nerd who always automatically comes up with questions for stuff like this.

On a side note, this thread title reminds me of a Garfield comic. Garfield was talking to his grandpa, and he said "Tell me about when I was little."

*Grandpa just looks at him...

"Okay, tell me about when I was young." (The joke being that even when he was born, Garfield was NEVER little.)

Just thought I'd mention that I no longer hold this Theology. In answer to your questions. I'm not sure how many shovels there are to go round so pitching in could be a problem. If there is only one you might be waiting in a very long line. Also when its time to leave do you have shower facilities or do you reach the Pearly gates covered in coal dust?

When I was in 1st grade I thought I was a lock into the NFL because I was the best football player in my class.

We had about 28 kids in my class and probably 1/2 were boys. Of that half probably 3/4 played football....

I was 5'6 and weighed 135 as a senior in high school. I still played football but the scouts weren't exactly knocking themselves over to get to my door...
