Grew up in Detroit and moved to Orlando in 1985. Relocated to Clearwater, Florida in 2014. In between Orlando and Clearwater spent 8 years in Maine.

Don't think I've ever heard the term Yankee in the midwest except in reference to the New York Yankees Major League Baseball team.

This must be a southern term. If it's any consolation, that confirms you're not a "yankee".

We on the other hand, midwesterners, would likely call you a redneck for coming from the south.
