We use onions. No specific kind but chop them up and either put them in a bandage to wrap around the foot with the onions going to the soles or put them in the patients sock making sure the onions are to the sole.
The onions absorb the fever and cook. Just keep doing it until the fever is gone. My people have used this remedy especially for critically high stubborn fevers for as long as I can remember.
I do hope others have fever recipes as a nurse told me what her family did but I don't recall as I was in emergency with my late mother at the time so things don't tend to stick to the brain.
