A lot of fluorescent lights bother my eyes. Also when looking at certain colors such as neon in store lighting can bother my eyes. If I look at a rack of red, pink, yellow or orange clothes all together in the store for an extended amount of time, it can start looking brighter. I find that looking at neutral( black, gray, brown) or soft colors( certain blues and greens) seems much easier on my eyes. Any advice or ideas as what may help?

whenever my eyes hurt,
I apply ice to my eyes the same way ice is used for any bruise or sore

but, that's how I handle my own eye sores

Is this at work or at home? Those lights big my eyes, too. I got a leaf thing to put over my desk at work to help block it out. My new glasses are going to have the blue blocker stuff on them.

I have also started to set monitors and my phone and tablet to a warm setting to help with the blue light.

One of my friends at work always wears a hat to deal with it too.

Some types of prescription meds can cause light sensitivity. You can check the literature that came with your meds to find out if it's something you're taking. It will be in the warnings/precautions section. It may also be caused by migraines, dry eyes, depression, and some medical conditions. Unfortunately the only way to treat it is to either eliminate the cause or wear tinted glasses (sunglasses).

Go for an eye test and ask the optician.

I agree with Miri....light sensitivity can be a sign of many things. I know for sure cataracts (even in the early stages) can cause that.
Worth looking into anyways.

hub recently told me that he saw an article about 'glasses' that anyone can buy for those who spend
a lot of time on their computer - 'look into this'...
