Most cognitive decline is related to vascular disease,
so you need to "take care of" the blood vessels that supply the blood.

One of the ways is by consuming a lot of fruits πŸ“πŸ’πŸŽπŸ‰πŸ‘πŸπŸ₯πŸ‡ and vegetables πŸ₯•πŸŒ½πŸ₯¦πŸ„πŸ†πŸ₯”πŸŒΆοΈπŸ₯‘
as well as, whole grains, low fat protein and green tea.
Fish🐟 is also a plus for maintaining brain health.

Here are my two cents. Dr Abram Hoffer back in 1952 cured 88% of his patients suffering from psychosis, schizophrenia and depression in six months with Niacin/B3. He was sharper at 90 than anyone colleague half his age. Most mental decline is linked to heavy metal toxicity and they key is to chelate either via a nutritional balancing program or by the use of chalators luke CH77 which the frequeny of EDTA suspended in water and way less harsh on the body. Stear away from grains and too much fruit as it all raises glucose levels, not even talking about the gliadin added to wheat. Because the brain is mainly made from fat and fat stores toxins to protect the body, we have a whole generation of old people now that were falsly sold on the low fat diet idea, not realizing that the body can deal with natural animal fats but that when sugar is converted into fat the fat particles are too small and cause havoc in the arteries. We also have therefore so much cognitive decline. Working as a Geobiologist that is specialized in radiation protection I also know that microwaves affect us in many ways (the NMRI declassified US Navi study from 1972 shows 122 biological problems with EMF) including mentally. Key is to stay alkaline as all disease essentially strives in an acidic environment. I could keep going but think to leave it with this. One can take up to 5000mG a day they say and I have done it many times. I use it also before going into the sauna as it increases sweating and therefore detoxing. Fish is good for sure BUT one needs to only eat small fish due to the mercury levels in fish these days. The bigger the fish the more mercury and people can go loopy from ingesting too much mercury. Lastly. raw oysters are the highest food that contains DHA which build melanopsin which is a UV receprot in the eyes and skin that produces not only good connection for charging up the mitochondria (energy levels) but also all hormones through the sun. Health is electrical since we are electrical beings (heart can be resusated) and brain (aplha waves are very close the the Schuman frequency/pulse of the earth so 7.83 cycles per second called Hertz).

I am 96 and doctors say I am not "loosing it". I have been very aware for years that I must work at keeping my mind sharp. Here is how I have worked at it.

I think the Lord created us and the food for us to match, so when man decided he could improve on it, that simply means they ruin the food for us. Oils need to be pressed. Food should never be homogenized. Chickens should not be caged but roam free. Beef should eat natures food. Grains should never be processed so we eat only parts of the grain. It is impossible to eat correctly today unless you are wealthy, but by looking at the ingredients you can sometimes get real unprocessed food.

To keep the mind sharp it needs to always have something new. It is helpful when the something new involves using hands in a new way such as learning to knit. There is always something new to learn. This way our brain keep renewing itself.

The third way is to monitor our thoughts. We have an ongoing dialogue that constantly plays in our minds, it is good to be aware of what that is. Keep control of that dialogue and be sure it follows Phil. 4:8--be sure the dialogue is of something good.

Exercise is great for circulation and oxygenating the blood.
Re: Niacin(vitamin B3). If you don't want the flushing effect that goes along with that, a buffered version is called Niacinamide.
