Strange how you slip into old habits without even realising. I’ve hit the wall now and know I can’t go on without putting the Lord first. Chris,
Great to see you here.

I stopped going to church for a long time even though I had not lost my faith Christ.

Will not go into the ressins.

Anyway great to see you and I hope you enjoy your time here.

Welcome Chris - Life is about relationships. Both our first fruit relationship with God thru Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, and with our brethren there is a special place as is there with the Father and Son. But we too have a relationship with the world at large.

I am thankful to God for Him bringing you to a place of surrendering all to Him, and the process is not over, maturing is an ongoing event.. I live, like you, under the finishing work of God in my life; thus, we all need each other for encouragement... This has nothing to do with sin but of His sanctifying grace in my life thru others of the Body of Christ. Sin is of another sort which needs its attention resolved in Christ. But I want to welcome you to the fold of "CC." My name is Dan.

I sent you a friends request. I would love to listen to all you would care to share with me in your testimony and "loads". I love discussing and discovering Christ with other brethren thru Bible references.

First, regardless of being a Christian for many years, if there is any sin left to confess and surrender - do that first, and wholeheartedly as He shows you clearly what to surrender.. It is one thing to recognize the need to do so, and another to do so.
:) It may seem a silly statement to say, but we as christians must remember too - Sin in an unbeliever is sin, but so too is sin in a believer sin. Right? God is establishing your steps there, and as you surrender all - His power will immediately emerge bearing your burdens. And as we travel this journey in life God carries us onward and upward in His Strength. For the joy of the Lord is our strength. He has a calling for you and for me. That calling isn't just our salvation, it is also the will of the Father worked out thru you by His commission and empowerment to reconcile others to Himself by lifting Him up to others so that He Himself can draw all men unto Himself.. I look forward to His continued leading you in your walk personally, and in His commission collectively as His Body. .. "Praise His name!"

"My speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power…" — (1 Corinthians 2:4).

Therefore, we must also remember if in preaching the gospel we substitute our knowledge of the way of salvation for confidence in the power of the gospel, we hinder people from getting to reality. We must take care to see while we proclaim our knowledge of the way of salvation, that we ourselves are rooted and grounded by faith in God.

We must never rely on the clearness of our presentation, but as we give our explanation we must make sure that we are relying on the Holy Spirit. Rely on the certainty of God’s redemptive power, and He will create His own life in people.

Once we are rooted in reality (Spiritual truth), nothing can shake us. And the three steps forwards, two steps back pattern of life in the area of obedience to God will be not attempted in the flesh but will be life lived by the spirit only... in accordance with our bodies behaviors then success will be His to be thankful for in us... as we put to death the things of the flesh by His Power and History.

If your faith is in experiences, anything that happens is likely to upset that faith. But nothing can ever change God or the reality of redemption. Base your faith on that, and you are as eternally secure as God Himself. Once you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ (currently active and first-fruited; by death to the right to yourself, and complete dependency on Him), you will never be moved again. That is the meaning of sanctification. God disapproves of our human efforts to cling to the concept that sanctification is merely an experience, while forgetting that even our sanctification must also be sanctified (see John 17:19).

I must deliberately give my sanctified life (redemptive life) to God for His service, so that He can use me as His hands and His feet. It is both challenging (even very hard as it is spiritual warfare; and you get that) and yet all is accomplished in Christ as we allow His life to be found in us thru belief and obedience, and to do whatever it takes to honor Gods will in killing the things of the flesh. The Christian life is not the easy life; far from it - but it is the only life full of abundance. May God richly bless you here Chris.

For a moment I thought this thread was some act of God, some thunderstorm had wiped out FB hard drives and it was no more. Such things have powers over the world, I don't think they are Godly. People turning into machines, attached to their phones, but if they ask themselves why, they don't know. They don't know until they detach and remember what being alive is.
