Hi everyone:
I'm a single male never married, 59 years old. I recently found out I'm going to be disabled the rest of my life. I'm very depressed about it. I'm in close contact with my psychiatrist and therapist but they are limited in what they can do. I've been a Christian for 45 years but I haven't been to Sunday morning church in about 18 years. I'm very socially isolated and am looking for new friends. My story is a sad and tragic one. I'm in desperate need of encouragement. I am faithful to do my devotions every day. I used to have a lot of friends but they gave up on me a long time ago.

Nice to meet you Regmo and welcome to the fellowship here at CC:) You are certain to meet and make friends here once you join in the Forums. One of my new favorite Scriptures is 'Don't worry about anything, instead pray about everything, tell God your desires and give thanks for the things God has already done for you. This will give you the peace from God'. Phil 4:6-
Look at your blessings, a roof over your head, food, clothing ,the Internet(for good and bad, lol) et al. There are many Christian Zoom groups also where you can connect and do Bible studies. I'm in two and also do online Church live when the weather is very cold.
I pray that the Lord will open your heart to see all the possibilities you have and above all His love for you. He is no respecter or persons. I bump into homeless people daily who have only what's in the cart they push and sometimes not even that. God bless you this year with a real Merry Christmas and a HAPPY New Year❣

It's gonna be OK, buddy. We will all be together soon. Just make sure your bags are packed and you are good to go. I will be your friend. I consider it an honor. and privilege. We are so glad you came. Welcome aboard! :):coffee: Let us walk the rest of the way together. :)

Luke
24:13 And, behold, two of them went that same day to a village called Emmaus, which was from Jerusalem [about] threescore furlongs.
24:14 And they talked together of all these things which had happened.
24:15 And it came to pass, that, while they communed [together] and reasoned, Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.

Regmo,

I am very sorry to hear it--no one can really understand what you're going thru, but many of us have at some point in our lives been abandoned by family or friends--some on these sites have or are currently dealing with health issues. This is a small site--I think at any one time there may be 50 people (some of those aren't Christians) on and the rest are guests--I am mainly in the bible forums--unfortunately they can get argumentative and sometimes unkind. I hope you can make at least a couple of friends here. I would recommend checking out the Joni and Friends website Joni is a Christian woman who was paralyzed from the neck down in a diving accident when she was 17. I just looked for the website and noticed there is a little boy on the home page, but it's for all ages. She also has a radio program. You can check it out here: https://www.joniandfriends.org/

In the meantime I will pray for you. "Father you know the pain that Regmo is going thru--please send Christian friends and support---please help him find face to face groups where he can find support and encouragement. Please encourage him and strengthen him right now. Help him to discover options to help him. Please send him an encourager now--and for anyone reading this who also needs encouragement -- would you please work a miracle for them as well? In Jesus name, amen.

Here are a couple of good prayer lines (CBN and Focus on the Family also have prayer lines.)

K-Love Radio (they have pastors, not sure how good they are) https://www.klove.com/Ministry/Pastors (800) 525-5683.
Somebody Cares (can call once every 24 hrs) 1(855) 459-2273

Blessings to you,

Laura
