Yes, I have. I have heard Him call my name in two separate instances.

I have no need to answer the other two questions.

Yes twice:

Shortly after coming to faith in 1968, was in San Francisco on the street, ready to hitch hike to Novato in Marin County to attend church with the people who led me to faith. I was about to stick out my thumb when God said not yet. I waited and God said now.
I stuck out my thumb and was picked up by the first driver to come along. The Lord used me to lead him to Himself.

The driver left me in the Gate 5 area of Sauselito, where the first person I saw God told me "Witness to her." In just a few minutes I led her to Jesus. I then stuck out my thumb and the first driver that came along took me to the door of the Church which I intended to visit.

On the other occasion I was hiking in Golden Gate Park. There was only one person in sight. God said witness to him.
I did and quickly led him to Christ.

Thanks for the reply

Doubt is not the opposite of faith, unbelief, no faith is.

They are going to speak what, a language someone can understand so that they can believe God called prophecy?

Prophecy is the word of God. Prophets prophecy by declaring it as it is written .No new prophecy for over two thousand years.

Prophecy is the sign that spoke against the oral tradition of men called a law of the fathers. Their oral tradition made prophecy to no effect.

Roman 3 informs us what if they did not believe by exercising as of work faith that alone comes from hearing God . Will their unbelief (not doubt) make the faith of God as the work of of God (work of faith) without effect. There is no separation between faith, the planning, and the work the execution of the faith of God.. it’s all one thing.

1Co 14:21 In the law it is written, With men of other tongues and other lips will I speak unto this people; and yet for all that will they not hear me, saith the LORD.

Christ speaks prophecy, His living abiding word to other people other than the apostate Jew . Yet the prophecy will have no effect they will not believe God not seen, but believe men seen. The result of the fall walking by sight.

1Co 14:22 Wherefore tongues are for a sign, not to them that believe, but to them that believe not: but prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe.

It is no different than any time he spoke from heaven giving his understanding in other languages.

It the way the gospel went out while God was still adding to his word .All new prophecy has ceased .What we had in part up until the last person he revealed his thoughts to (John ) today we have the whole or perfect with no law missing by which we could know Him more adequately.

It’s how two different languages could be understood according to the one interpreter called; God. He who made the ear and mouth knows all the languages of the world.

I wonder if when Philip was moved to help the Ethiopian if the gift of tongues was not used to help them understand each other? Or when the Holy Spirit moved the Italian to help Peter understand the spiritual meaning of the parable? I would think there would be a language barrier. Paul was moved to write in in Hebrew. It could have been heard in two languages as God communicated with both..

What dialect did Cornelius speak as his native tongue? Did he receive the prophecy in Hebrew?

Act 10:3 He saw in a vision evidently about the ninth hour of the day an angel of God coming in to him, and saying unto him, Cornelius.

I would think in order to hear the gospel in order to believe God (not each other) they would both have to be on the same page or simply hear babble? I would trust if God can confuses a language in regard to all people and create new languages .

Then giving understanding of the different langue would be a walk in the park for him .

1Co 14:11 Therefore if I "know not the meaning of the voice", I shall be unto him that speaketh a barbarian, and he that speaketh shall be a barbarian unto me. His gifts of interpretation tonguesare two fold .
Prophesy is what interpretation is all about. A person who has the gift of prophesy will either speak the spoken language known to the present body...or there will be someone who can interpret.

God has spoken on occasions where others heard it, audibly. He has spoken:

What we call 'the ten commandments'
'This is my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased.'
'This is my beloved Son in Whom I am well pleased. Hear ye Him.'
'I have glorified it and will glorify it again.'

Samuel perceived God's voice as audible when he was a child. He thought Eli was talking to him. There may be other occasions. We should also consider Peter's vision as a possible case of a perceived audible voice. Did John 'hear voices' in the events recorded in the book of Revelation?

it isn't biblical, but it is in the Bible

do you see the difference?

world of difference between the OT and NT

problem is that far too many charismatics do a mashup of the two

and again, I am not a cessationist but I do wish many of the so called prophets who call themselves prophets these days, would cease

would you make a doctrine of a believer marrying a prostitute? if you think you would, then please post the scripture from the NT that indicate that would be a directive from the Holy Spirit

maybe you can also supply your understanding of why God told Hosea to do that. it would help to understand the why in this case
No I don't really see a difference. Whether a man lived a few thousand years ago or lives now. God told men to do things that you say are not biblical but are in the bible. So one can say God told men to do "unbiblical things". He told one man to sacrifice his son and another to marry a prostitute.

The point I was trying to make was that those men heard God and knew it was His voice they were hearing. Otherwise, they would not have obeyed and insisted it couldn't be God because...they would say they were unbiblical directions or leadings.

And I have made no doctrines - just an observation. :)

The day he does I will either drop from a heart attack or go get some meds.....

He speaks through the written word and in a still, small voice.

NOT TO SAY he cannot speak audibly because he is GOD and can do as he wishes when he wishes.....AMEN

I think...He spoke four words to me because my faith was weak. He has never done so again because no more words have ever been necessary. The four words (locutions, some of the old saints used to call them) were: do you trust Me? So you can see no more words have ever been necessary. They were the four perfect words.

So...what I'm trying to say is...I was in a highly agitated state and very weak in trust to be in that state. So I think if someone has never had a locution, it could be because they have stronger trust.

So tell me grandpa, you just stated that you heard God's voice audibly when you ask the Lord, " if we could lose salvation." How do you know that maybe the Holy Spirit brought Hebrews 13:5 or even Deuteronmy 31:8 to you memory? Just asking?

IN GOD THE SON,
bluto
Well, it was an audible voice I heard after I asked the question.

It wasn't just a thought I had. I'm not smart enough to come up with stuff like that. I'm more of a read and study sort of person than someone who can just answer audible questions like that.

I had read the bible several times before asking this question but I didn't know those words were in there.

I had to look them up.

And almost everything that I have heard audibly I have been able to look up in the bible.

We are the temple of God he is in us just like our spirit is in us when we close our eyes. Jesus said there was none good but the father.

If you ,close your eyes your spirit is in the body of your flesh. If you think to do evil(lie, steal, cheat ect.) you know God knows your thoughts and so you feel guilty. Some say this is your own conscience.

If you thought you would steal something and you heard/felt that voice say "no don't it's wrong" but then you steal it anyway then your conscience is guilty but the voice that said don't do it is not guilty it said it was wrong. Christ in you, most never think to look inside when we close our eyes to see if he's in us and assume every thought in our heads are our own.

I suppose some might not see this at first(day after day of not looking for him in us). If you are the temple of God then he is inside you and speaks to you every day look for him in yourself the comforter is in you he is the Lord of host . Your spirit is in there and he is also,,but you are not him.

The word says this; to crucify the flesh, for we are dead, to the flesh, the world and the devil. In my relationship with my personal prays, meditation's and answers, I have never ever heard things with my natural ears. God is a spirit, this is what the word says, those who worship him, must worship him in spirit and in truth. There are times, when the Holy spirit, quickens words, to our spirit, for we are born again of his spirit, not born again of the flesh. He will speak to our spirit, and we know him, and recognize his voice, as the NT says, "My sheep know their Shepard, another they will not listen too. To know him, is to know how he speaks, to the inner man, and yes at times, it could be just as real as a human talking, but, it is not to my earthly ears, but to my spirit. God be praised!

Audibly....... NO. BUT inwardly during a night vision (it WAS NOT A DREAM!) was told that it was being done the way it was because I would not have (at that time, and if it happened now probably still not) in my human condition be able to handle hearing Gods mighty POWERFUL voice, just the experience left me trembling (I had never trembled like that in all my life before!) The following day a friend who lived in another state called and asked about "xyz" from last night.
NOPE- Not on meds or "crazy" o_O
no religious title- or group or organization.
