Simple.

The way that word (saved- past tense) is structured, it means its application is at the very end of a process (the salvation process). Now, because God is timeless (He declares the end from the beginning), He searches the heart of a man and declares them saved even before they are born (elect).

So, it is right to say that a man is not saved until they are saved but when they are saved, they are actually saved because it is God's doing. It is not when a pastor or another man claims that a man is saved.
Do not therefore believe when people say they were saved on 30th April, 2010 at 1000hrs and they felt something rushing through their bodies. There is no such thing as sinners prayer either or even salvation prayer.

When God convicts your heart and you believe & confess that Jesus is Lord and that He died for your sin, you shall be saved- you can't 'unbelieve that', if you do, you were not saved in the first place because you did not believe.

The seed by which we have ben born anew is incorruptible. Why marvel wavering between two opinions as if it was not?

1 Peter 1:23
Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Jesus died on the cross for your sins. If you have confessed your sins and asked the Holy Spirit to live inside of you to guide you on your new spiritual path then you are saved and nothing can ever take that away from you.

What has happened to your incessant hammering on the necessity of good works?

If you are born again, You have nothing to fear. for you have been given the right to be children of God. You can never earn it, Yet The enemy wants to instill fear and get you to think that salvation is not secure that you must earn or maintain it, Run from the enemy, he (they) do not speak for God.

How are you saved Monnkai? By grace through faith. Emphasis on grace, it is not by works or maintenance, but by the grace of God. It is through Christ and Him crucified, that you are saved. You do not need to fear reading God's word, because your foundation is Jesus. Remember, Christ and Him crucified.

28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

37 All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

38 For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me.

39 And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.

40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day.

29 For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31 What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.

34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.

35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?

36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.

37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

may our Father in heaven bless you with assurance brother

I like this thread. It gives us believers assurance, and not fear. Posting verses on God's sovereignty, the sufficiency of Christ's sacrifice and Jesus as our mediator and High Priest (He is risen!). We are redeemed.

Wow I sure understand where you are coming from. I totally did the same thing and lived much of my adult life avoiding a lot of reading and prayer and especially communion at church. This was after becoming a Christian. I was given wrong teaching about God's love. I thought His love depended on my good behavior.

I realize now how the enemy had me fooled and used fear and doubt for years (things God doesn't use) I thought it was God condemning me and being very angry at me for being weak. I thought the Holy Spirit was condemning me and vexing my spirit and punishing me.

Is it any wonder we run from God and not TO HIM?? First we have to KNOW and be assured of the Love of God IN Christ. That nothing can move Him from loving us. Why? Because Jesus is our sure foundation.... The Rock of our salvation that is not moved.

Because of Jesus we are loved forever. The love of God in Christ Jesus cannot ever be changed because HE IS our High Priest who FOREVER makes intercession for us (those IN Christ Jesus) The saints.

Eph.2:8-9
For it is by free grace (God’s unmerited favor) that you are saved ([SUP][a][/SUP]delivered from judgment and made partakers of Christ’s salvation) through [your] faith. And this [salvation] is not of yourselves [of your own doing, it came not through your own striving], but it is the gift of God;
[SUP]
9 [/SUP]Not because of works [not the fulfillment of the Law’s demands], lest any man should boast. [It is not the result of what anyone can possibly do, so no one can pride himself in it or take glory to himself.]

Being born again is being given a new nature made in the image of God. His seed is put in us and we are now children of God born into His family by the new birth.

Now we are His workmanship CREATED IN CHRIST. We now have the Holy Spirit in us and He promises NEVER TO LEAVE US.

We have been sealed by that Holy Spirit of promise. If He has promised never to leave.... that promise far outweighs our ability to miss the mark and even "feel" like He isn't there. If we asked Jesus to forgive us and save us we have been promised that He would never leave us or forsake us.

We don't trust ourselves... we trust the finished work of Jesus on the cross. We have the witness of the Holy Spirit in us and on us.

We are totally secure. Now we daily have to walk IN those promises and find out all about Jesus and REST in HIM. Resting is actually the most spiritual work we can do.

The analogy of a criminal doesn't run before a judge (because hes guilty) came to mind as I was reading your post. That people feel condemned alienates them from God, but God wishes for believers to know of their security in His Son, so when/if they fail they can go before Him (and not away from Him). It is a powerful truth, to be righteous before God on the basis of Christ. Justification is a vital topic in sanctification, and in our fellowship with God.

I know that but I felt my situation was different since probably due to my aspergers I tend to question everything a million times a day. Logically or completely out of mind numbing fear

It's a major comfort to know that when we see weaknesses in ourselves.... THAT IS WHEN His grace is made perfect. What the world sees as weak God says He will use to make us strong. How that works is a miracle. It's a spiritual truth that confounds the wise of this world. That yet again is the work of REDEPTION.

1 Cor. 1:27-

[SUP]26 [/SUP]For [simply] consider your own call, brethren; not many [of you were considered to be] wise according to human estimates and standards, not many influential and powerful, not many of high and noble birth.
[SUP]

27 [/SUP][No] for God selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is foolish to put the wise to shame, and what the world calls weak to put the strong to shame.

[SUP]

28 [/SUP]And God also selected (deliberately chose) what in the world is lowborn and insignificant and branded and treated with contempt, even the things that are nothing, that He might depose and bring to nothing the things that are,

[SUP]

29 [/SUP]So that no mortal man should [have pretense for glorying and] boast in the presence of God.

2 Cor.12:10

[SUP]9 [/SUP]But He said to me, My grace (My favor and loving-kindness and mercy) is enough for you [sufficient against any danger and enables you to bear the trouble manfully]; for My strength and power are made perfect (fulfilled and completed) and [SUP][a][/SUP]show themselves most effective in [your] weakness.

Therefore, I will all the more gladly glory in my weaknesses and infirmities, that the strength and power of Christ (the Messiah) may rest (yes, may [SUP][b][/SUP]pitch a tent over and dwell) upon me!
[SUP]

10 [/SUP]So for the sake of Christ, I am well pleased and take pleasure in infirmities, insults, hardships, persecutions, perplexities and distresses; for when I am weak [[SUP][c][/SUP]in human strength], then am I [truly] strong (able, powerful [SUP][d][/SUP]in divine strength).

This is yet another truth that gives me WINGS for the day!!! His strength is made perfect in my weakness when I give it all to Him. I believe it's part of our calling to be weak infront of Him and allow Him to make us strong. When I think I'm supposed to be this or supposed to be that I fall flat on my face. Comparing myself to other people before God is what I'm called NOT to do. 2 Cor.10:

Not that we [have the audacity to] venture to class or [even to] compare ourselves with some who exalt and furnish testimonials for themselves! However, when they measure themselves with themselves and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding and behave unwisely.

When I fall into the trap of comparisons that is when I forget His benefits. And the Bible says to forget NOT His blessings and benefits.

He can and will make strong the weak ... and He does each day when I believe. His divine power is poured out on us in ways only He knows how to create a lot from a little. After all He makes something out of nothing!

The most important thing I can do in this scenario is REST in the awesome finished work of Jesus on the cross. Allow the Holy Spirit access and put one step before the other. One day at a time. Looking away to Jesus.

Yeah I get your intention I personally can relate since I'm a "perfectionist" to a degree, wanting to know "absolutely" if I'm secure financially or if I remembered everything I needed, things of that nature(like currently unrelated but Xeno saga I won't simply go through the game to hurry to number 2 because like usual I want to get "everything" I can before I finish) I often get "bothered" by "not knowing" what awaits in the future, always helpful to find "firm proof/security" that something you are worried about you can rest easy that you have an "answer" for the many questions in your head.

You like anime or mange, right? (Admittedly, I read neither, but know enough about it to know they're full-fledged novels. lol) Have you ever read chapter 5 only in one of those novels? Only chapter 5? No?

Why not? Because you won't get the full story, so chapter 5 all by itself won't make a lot of sense. And, because you want to know the full story. Right?

So what you're saying here is you've read a little of the Bible, but fear reading the whole thing because the little you've read gives you mixed signals. No kidding. It's like only reading Chapter 5 in a novel you do like reading. It won't make a whole lot of sense until you've studied the whole thing. It won't ever make full sense, unless you read the whole thing. And, having read the whole thing, then you can start seeing the recurring themes, the foreshadowing, the red herrings, and all the other stuff you find in a book when you read it all the way through.

Now, who is your favorite character in the books you do read? (Rehortical question. The name won't mean a thing to me, but wanted you to think that one over.) If I asked, on a site devoted to that kind of story, for people to tell me all about some aspect of that characters, should I expect to be taught whatever I wanted to know, simply because someone answers?

If I did ask, and you read the whole thread of answers I got, couldn't you pick out who doesn't know what they're talking about and who does?

Yeah, same problem asking this question on here. You'll get every answer out there to your question, but you won't know the true answer, unless you learn for yourself. AND you won't get that answer until you have read the whole Bible. You're 28 years old. You've got the rest of your life in front of you. Now, tell me you can't read the whole Bible sometime during that whole life. And then tell me you can't read it more than once after that. No rush to get your answer, but it's time to get past reading just Chapter 5. Honest. It's the best book ever written. (It's the most sold book of all times, and it wouldn't be that unless it was that good.) It's time to enjoy it.

It's about our favorite one in the whole universe. And, it's no mere novel! It's nonfiction! Where can that possibly go wrong?

Fear dentists! Fear cardiologists! Fear bats flying in your hair, (did my personal fears just peek through there lol), but don't fear God. He's beautiful!
