Wouldn't the use of contraceptives be a form of sexual idolatry? Taking the natural state of our bodies and altering them for sexual pleasures?

Nowhere in the bible does Jesus say "And thou shalt not use contraceptives!". And on that note nor does he say not to use condoms either.
Well I said there's never a need for contraceptives but that if someone chooses to use them they should look to use what is least invasive and harmful to the body

Someone mentioned learning about a woman’s cycle and contraceptives won’t be needed. The thing is many women have an irregular cycle. Birth control pills help regulate a woman’s cycle.
I agree but I think God can do an even better job if we pray about those things but I think that's what it means by taste and see that the Lord is good meaning we should go to God for those things that we want changed or improved in our lives.

I think broad is the path to destruction, and there are many things God speaks that isnt followed. women shouldnt wear makeup, broidered hair, fancy jewels and jewelry, and should be modest in their apparel, but ahhh its ok, to break that rule, because it looks good on them? of course the carnal man wants women to dress revealing. What Im saying, is that if we broaden the rules they become our own destruction.....Jesus says be yay yay or nay nay, and Im saying yes contraceptives are against God's will for the human to use.

Do you also agree that another way for birth control is to work 12 hours until you really are exhausted like the Japanese are doing?
I attempted that whole 12 hours and we'll be too tired thing.

babies due in august lol.

On a more serious note....I think God can do as He wills. Rather we use birth control or not. I also think he expects us to use wisdom and not cause extreme harm to the body....a lot of birth control methods do that. In some cases so does pregnancy...I don't consider this a black and white cut and dry issue. It's a personal matter...and up to personal convinctions as God leads us..

Right there with you, but I certainly hope that this is the sanctification process that we're in and that the refining will occur at some point as God is the one doing it.

Congratulations! Praise God for His precious gift of life to us but I think you also summed it up nicely!

It's interesting that most of your (mis)quoted Scripture verses address what women should or shouldn't do. How about accurately quoting what the Bible says to men?

You conclude that contraceptives are against God's will without a single verse to back up your position directly. You're welcome to your opinion, but at present, it seems that's all you have on this matter.

A birth control pill that is an abortifacient (to cause a miscarriage by preventing the embryo from attaching to the lining of the uterus) is a sin.

Thanks for your reply! I agree with you about this type of contraceptive.

But some believe ALL contraceptives is sin. I would like to know what Scripture backs this up.

I find it interesting that we need explicit scripture and then if it is not there then it must be okay.
The scripture does not say anything explicit about pedophilia either.

Well, if sin is anything contrary to the will of God then one must consider that contraceptive is not within the will of God since God says children are a gift from Him.

Birth control is about control.

I will leave it at that.

so any family practicing natural family planning is also sinning because they are working around gods intended purpose.

heck we should go as far as saying any sex outside of marriage not trying to conceive a child is sin.

This is the same logic that leads the Church of Christ to avoid the use of musical instruments in worship... if something isn't explicit in Scripture, we have to conclude that it's forbidden.

Here's the logical end of your position: if two people are married, and find themselves in a life situation incompatible with or unwise for having children, they must sin, either by denying each other, foolishly proceeding with having children, or using contraceptives.

That's simply ridiculous.

I was not referring to "natural family planning" that is generally not regarded as birth control by doctors.
