The dominionists/Kingdom Now (Word of Faith, NAR, Charismatics) are committing the Corinthian error. They disgarded the simple message of the cross for "wisdom" messages of deeper spirituality. Many parrallels are being taught today. One example is in 1 Cor. 4:8. Paul shames them for believing they are reigning as kings because they have spiritual gifts. "Reigning" is a favorite doctrine today. There are many more examples in 1 Cor to discuss here of the same errors being taught by modern preachers.

I believe also a pseudo spirituality manifests itself when certain ones over emphasize a 'personal relationship with Christ' almost to the exclusion of Scripture (at least Scripture in it's context) this also leads to self proclaimed 'prophets'.
I'm not saying a personal relationship is not Scriptural, but when it forgets to bring the Scriptures with it, it becomes dangerously a fount of heresy.

That is the error in Cor 1:12. Paul is not saying some were following Christ. He is saying they claimed to arrogantly follow Christ while rejecting Paul and his message (Scripture).

Obviously just a fringe group of folks treading down demons and such. A group of folks living so close to the Lord they never experience sickness or want. Or maybe not. They may just be not what they claim to be.

just saying, yeah we got some fruits and nuts here, but you really should visit a charismatic church or talk to one of the none flaky people because we actually have a decently balanced view of scripture.

Do you, in your Charismatic church, believe you have authority to rule and reign? Charisma magazine teaches it all the time.

While I agree with your assessment, we need to see Pentecostals, Charismatics, WOFers, NAR and Dominionist/Kingdom Now groups as separate groups, all treating spiritual gifts as the main focus.

For example, Pentecostals are generally conservative, whereas Charismatics can present a broad spectrum of beliefs (including Catholic Charismatics).

All Christians should be carefully examining all winds of doctrine under the searchlight of Scripture. Which means every believer must be a diligent student of the Words, but also a Doer of the Word.

I define Charismatics as those who believe the gifts are for today but don't follow the teachings of Jesus and the Apostles. They sprinkle a little orthodoxy here and there but they are mainly heterodox.

Then you believe this promise is yours:
“Truly I tell you,” Jesus answered, “this very night, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times.”

not really, that was a historical narrative, directed to one person, and said person was not even filled with the spirit.

like i said, gotta view the word through its proper context.

Then you don't believe you have EVERY promise God has given in His Word. Make up your mind.

i mean brother, it was true as can be for Peter, but to apply it any other way is not right and unscriptural.

give a better example like Nehemiah.

That should be "every promise God had given to His children..." which includes "much tribulation" and "persecution".
yes, i do, and God has promised to be my strength through it all. any who think this life is all sunshine and roses because they are a christian is sorely misled. thats where we truly reign, it is when affliction and persecution come that we stand and say His grace is more than enough. He made us battle ships, not to avoid the storm, but to sail right into that heart of darkness and fallow His call to save the lost and dying of this world.

You claimed EVERY promise in God's Word belonged to you. Then you rejected one of those promises. Does this belong to you? Make up your mind:
Peter said to her, “How could you conspire to test the Spirit of the Lord? Listen! The feet of the men who buried your husband are at the door, and they will carry you out also.”

this happens today because of Biblical illiteracy that has effected the last 15 to 20 years . And it is not just wof, charismatics either, many so-called fundamentalist have abandon the word of God.

just like how i tell the charismatics they are using the bible wrong... some hype spiritual people take the bible out of context to justify things that don't belong to them.

on the opposite side you are taking a scripture and are saying this promise belongs to you... come on man, just read the bible, the text is clear, its written to a pre-spirit filled peter...smh
