Canucks are getting bold...finally ( I can say that)

Canada warns immigrants in U.S. about heading north of the border

Fearful they will be deported by the Trump administration, thousands of immigrants are illegally crossing from the U.S. into Canada in hopes of being granted asylum

MIAMI — As President Trump travels north to Canada to attend the G7 summit, Canadian officials have been heading south to try to stem a wave of undocumented immigrants headed their way.

In what has become an increasingly regular mission, Canadian representatives visited the U.S this week to warn immigrants fearful over President Trump's immigration crackdown that they can't simply rush north of the border to find safe haven.

Randy Boissonnault, a liberal member of Parliament and a special advisor to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, visited South Florida this week to try to educate would-be immigrants about the limitations of the Canadian immigration system.

REST OF ARTICLE

it is easier to immigrate to the US if you meet the criteria

Hmmm, we're the bad guy when we want to remove them but it's OK if Canada does.

This is genuinely funny. After deliberately violating Canad's immigration laws, and asking the RCMP to help break those laws, they want to stem the tide of illegals.

The government of Canada has always favored illegals over legal immigrants. The "boat people" is a good example. Then Trudeau opened the doors wide to the so-called "Syrian refugees". Lately he has been encouraging Islamic jihadists with Canadian cash, and trying to *rehabilitate* terrorists.

Immigration lawyer Raj Sharma, he paints a picture of a process that has been completely derailed. The backlog in claims was already bad and this influx of illegal arrivals is only making the delays worse. Sharma said the approval ratio is as high as 70 per cent, likely because overwhelmed officials find it easier to accept claims rather than reject them. That of course only encourages more illegal migrants to cross the border and take their chances.

I thought Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau WANTED lots of immigrants?

For a fella who wants to help immigrants, he's awfully picky.

I support reworking the concept of reciprocity. Homeless American's should march south and illegally immigrate into Mexico. Line up and insist on an application to work in outsourced American companies operating there. Like Volkswagen.

The only good thing about that fact is at its inception it would have made Adolf spin in his grave.

I lived in Canada for quite awhile. One thing about watching their politics work is that it is never dull. They're weird, but never dull.

No thanks. Have you seen their prison system?? You do NOT want to get arrested there as an illegal immigrant. In fact, you don't want to get arrested there as a LEGAL immigrant.

yeah

I think Trudeau is beginning to realize that wearing funky Pakistani clothes and giving Muslim refugees 10 grand each and setting them up in housing and telling them to 'find work' is not the popular choice of most Canadians

IMO, he is ridiculous and should set up a commune for himself and his friends and his wife can croon to them every night

uh huh uh huh (she did a solo in which there were multiple uh huhs LOL!)

nah

he's a one worlder with the desire to grand stand cause his morals are 'universal'

Canadians put up with way too much and Harper was a far better choice.

Trudeau has kept his word and put Canada tidely into the red ... as he promised

ha!

I'm Canadian married to an American.

depends on which part of Canada you lived in. Every province is different and I doubt you actually captured the 'flavor' of the county during your habitation there. :cautious:

for reals

ask yourself why they all want to 'immigrate' to the US...duh

someone the other day (not on the forums) said to me 'they want to move here, but they do not want to become American. They just want to be Mexican (or whatever other nationality) but in a better place.

I see that as pretty much true.

I don't actually want to 'become' American' myself, but I fit in, I contribute (pay taxes etc) and basically will not break the law, deal in drugs, crash my car because I can't drive (that seems to happen alot here in FL) and various and sundry other disturbances

For any who are interested in a Canadian perspective on our PM's lunacy, check out Michelle Rempel on YouTube. She is a Conservative Member of Parliament from Calgary, scary smart, and dead-set against the true-d'oh agenda to ruin the country. We need about 250 more like her.

What? You mean Mexico actually has laws that make illegal immigration an offense that results in arrests? :eek:No sanctuary cities? Hey, that's not right! I mean, left!

Trudeau was the one who started this! And I am not just talking about letting Syrian refugees jump the lineup. When Trump shut down immigration from 6 countries after he became President, Trudeau put out the call for anyone who wanted to come.

That was in the middle of our cold Canadian winters. Many from Africa walked across the border, without proper clothing, losing fingers and toes. The RCMP immediately took them to the hospital, gave them clothes, then the government set them up in housing. Now, probably 0% were from the countries Trump shut down. But, if it's free, why not?

Don't you worry, Trudeau is gone in 2019! I think everyone but Quebec and the Martimes are realizing that. My SIL was from Nova Scotia. She said a lot of them voted for Trudeau because of his nice hair, or because Harper was threatening to take a week or two off their Employment Insurance checks they go on every winter. I hope this doesn't offend any maritimers reading this, but you did vote Liberal!
