Sometimes you don't have to use something. Sometimes just knowing it is there to use is enough.
I sure would not want a pile of stale doughnuts in my house, but that is me. To each his own.

If they were stale enough, they could make a unique building material for a fort. Unless they also were moldy. Do donuts get moldy? I've never held onto one long enough to find out

Lord, doughnuts never get STALE in my house- much less moldy. I would imagine the doughnuts would attract all sorts of vermin. 🐭🐭🐭

Y'all are both missing the whole point. We want an endless supply of donuts. We want to live next door to a donut shop that will give us free donuts whenever we go over there to get one.

Nothing is ever free. Except salvation. That’s the only thing free in this world.

I used to work next to a pizza joint and they would often come over and ask us if we want a free pizza because they had some that no one picked up and none of the employees wanted to take it home.

Yes, but did you get fat? Did you get heartburn? Did you get sick off of pizza that sat around all day? There is a reason why the employees didn’t want it. I worked in Pizza Hut for a while in college. For some strange reason, people would call in an order for a pizza, and never pick it up. At the end of the night, there were always pizzas to take home. At first, a new employee thought this was a nice little perk. But after eating a few stale pizzas, the “free pizza” palled- especially if you started gaining weight or got constipated.

Everything has a price- except the love of God. We don’t pay for that, He does.

Yup. Everything has a price. Even making a post on CC has a price, because somebody will be lurking in the shadows, waiting to pounce on your post and find a reason to say you are wrong.

Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. We’re all very proud of you for your willingness to admit your tendency to lurk and pounce. You are a cat, so a certain amount of lurking and pouncing is to be expected. Perhaps if we all chip in and get you neutered, you won’t be so grouchy.

I couldn’t lurk and pounce straightaway because I’m a big girl and needed to get some peanut butter toast to fuel my movie watching activity.

Don’t think that my wit takes 10 minutes or more to jell- the body is slow, but the mind is like quicksilver.

I fear your unwillingness to be corrected shows an “unteachable spirit” which is very sad, indeed.

The "unteachable spirit" line belongs in the Bible Discussion Forum. This is Singles forum. We try to avoid the whole "you're not really a christian, you have an unteachable spirit, you believe a heresy, you're a hypocrite" kind of stuff here.

I must adjourn for the night. I am watching Alice in Wonderland, which will take all my attention. I will be more than happy to help instruct and guide any callow young men and ladies at some point tomorrow, depending on the rigidity or laxity of my schedule.

My wisdom is known far and wide, and the locals may need my attentions tomorrow.

Until then, gentle readers, I hope you will somehow jog along without my superior wisdom to guide you as a lode star through this magical journey we call “life”.

Oh, and about the free stuff - tonight I gave a friend a bike. It was a cheap huffy bike with an expensive electric front wheel. I bought it thinking I needed it, and I gave it away because the weight of the front wheel was not worth the assistance it gave me on a long trip. I gave it to this particular guy because he is a kid riding a bike around the apartment parking lot and he will love it.

To this boy, the bike was free. Really, truly, legally, legitimately, no-strings-attached free. Sometimes some things ARE really free.

I was thinking about this, the other day. I have never gotten a ticket, never. I’ve been pulled over and given warnings about five or six times. Why is this? I’m not hot, so it’s not that. I think because I look sad and pitiful and given a “pass” because I’m a white woman. I even had a wreck one time that was MY fault and the cop insisted it was the black guy’s fault! I had to tell the cop what had happened a couple if times before he agreed it was my fault. I think white privilege is real, even more if you are a white woman.
I'm going to tell you a secret from police field training.
Police write hot chicks tickets, cause they have easy lives. The almost always give warnings to ugly chicks, cause they really need a break.

I DO beg pardon. I was under the impression that this site was called “Christian” chat. I did not realize Christian Singles were on a sort of Rumsprinnge and do not wish to discuss things of a biblical nature. My apologies. From now on, I shall adhere strictly to the profane, and not stray into the sacred.

The White Rabbit beckons, and I must go.

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart. As an ugly chick, I thank you. I must be deteriorating. The other day, a man said I was “plain”. I really DO need some beauty sleep.

If you read my post correctly, I stated that I am not hot. I attributed not getting tickets to white privilege, which I do believe is absolutely real.
