You think I have said men should continue deliberately sinning...?
No!
I am saying we receive power that KEEPS us from continuing on in deliberate sin!

I'm a bit flummoxed that you think I am recommending the continuation of sin...
Jesus promised us the Holy Spirit to help us from not sinning. Also the reading of the word EVERY DAY helps us from sinning. ( John 17:17)
John 17:17 New Living Translation (NLT)
17 Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

If we follow The Lord the best we can with His help, perfection will be imputed/credited to us through grace the same as everyone who has ever had faith in Him. There is no other way.

Ahh...that did not work for me and I don't recommend it.
The harder I tried as best I could to be good, to stop murdering, to stop having fits of hurt pride at how I was treated - the worse it got for me.

I struggled to be good for many years. I never could be good. Eventually someone bumped into me and what I was carrying in my heart spilled out.
You were relying on your ability to be good, not God ability to save you through grace. That never works.

Just like Paul testifies about in Romans 7

For example: "The body, however, is not meant for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body."-1 Corinthians 6:13

The vessel of your body was 'set apart' (made holy) for honor, not the dishonor of sexual immorality. Vessels set apart and reserved for service in the temple of God are not to be defiled by being used for unclean and profane or common purposes. They have been set apart (made holy) for service to God, not in service of man's evil purposes.
Another Shallow response to the OP.

This shows a very shallow understanding of God.

Yes. The Holy Spirit IS the power I was speaking of.
Are you pulling my leg? Or do you REALLY think I was recommending continuing in sin?
What part of what I said were you saying would get me in hot water?

The gospel is not to do your best to obey His commands.

ohn 12:44-50 New Living Translation (NLT)
44 Jesus shouted to the crowds, “If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me. 45 For when you see me, you are seeing the one who sent me. 46 I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark. 47 I will not judge those who hear me but don’t obey me, for I have come to save the world and not to judge it. 48 But all who reject me and my message will be judged on the day of judgment by the truth I have spoken. 49 I don’t speak on my own authority. The Father who sent me has commanded me what to say and how to say it. 50 And I know his commands lead to eternal life; so I say whatever the Father tells me to say.”

Just another response showing a lack of understanding.
None of us has complete understanding.
It's okay to discuss this and help each other with the verses we aren't remembering to add to our equation/understanding.
I often change how I think about some things or aspects from the time I begin in a thread with you guys to the time the thread ends.
So...what good is iron sharpening if your own iron never gets sharpened?
We're all participating with the hope for MORE understanding with the help of others. :giggle:

If that's the best you can answer I am sure the Lord understands. God Bless
