well ps

though i think your claim against dcon is founded on a bias

because he was not disrespecting Jesus in any way shape or form

and unlike many here gives Jesus ALL the glory for salvation

i do agree with the base point (not accusation)

that all of us should point to He who is our only hope...

we should be honest with who He is because that in itself will bring Him the glory He earned by Himself

He is perfect.. unlike us
He is loving... more than us
He is just... beyond the understanding of man
He is forgiving... more so than we are

and He does deserve not only our respect but the respect of the world

I want a public apology please
I never called, obeying the Gospel was foolish nonsenese, this is a complete lie and slander that could damage my good character. Everyone here knows that this is a "complete lie"
You need to apologize for teaching that obeying the Gospel is nonsense.

Here is what another person wrote to you about this same post you made.

So you have a person saying I believe in Jesus and I am going to try to keep his commandment, and that is completely foolish nonsense to you. Are you a pastor or teacher? I suspect Jesus would say to you, much the same as he did Nicodemus that came to him at night, " Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things?"

I hope when you get to the gates of heaven and you say proudly that you did nothing but believe in Jesus, I hope you get in? I really hope you get in? You seem like a person that should be in.

Now if 'nothing' is not right, tell me what is necessary besides just believing in Christ?

So now you have a chance to make things right.

Does a person have to obey the Gospel to be saved?
  1. Yes a person must obey the Gospel to be saved.
  2. No a person does not need to obey the Gospel to be saved.

Be truthful!

the ridiculous semantics of the self righteous boil down to

"do these works in order to be saved... and if you do not do all (or any of) these things you are not saved ....oh and also believe in Jesus to qualify for this job in the first place"

but those who know the truth will say

"what we do that is good, is of God and we examine ourself if we walk according to the spirit out of LOVE for Him who first loved us.... my hope rests entirely on Jesus Christ"

one of these -> salvation is a payment or a reward and not a free gift.... good works will earn this reward and belief in Jesus is a prerequisite (Jesus gets a fraction of the credit)

the other -> salvation is a free gift... good works are done out of love for Him who made us new and continues to work in us.... the ONLY hope we have for salvation... Jesus Christ (Jesus gets ALL of the credit)

I'm calling your criticism of me, and your constantly miss representing my words are nonsense, do you understand now? I did not say obeying the gospel was nonsense I said you were, you do twist every bodies words.

Have a wonderful forever.

This is TruthTalk's response to Justpassinthrough.. I believe it adequately clarifies what TT meant by "nonsense".. no referral to the Gospel being nonsense at all, on TT's part anyway.. :)

Only those who obey the Gospel are saved; born again.

22 Since you have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit in sincere love of the brethren, love one another fervently with a pure heart, 23 having been born again, not of corruptible seed but incorruptible, through the word of God which lives and abides forever, 1 Peter 1:22-23

The Spirit empowered Christian life which involves:

Salvation
Love
Faith
Righteousness
Justicstion

As well as receiving the Holy Spirit are predicated on obedience.

And we are His witnesses to these things, and so also is the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.” Acts 5:32

  • the Holy Spirit whom God has given to those who obey Him.

Those who obey Him are those who know Him.

3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 1 John 2:3-4

5083. téreó
Strong's Concordance
téreó: to watch over, to guard
Original Word: τηρέω
Part of Speech: Verb
Transliteration: téreó
Phonetic Spelling: (tay-reh'-o)
Short Definition: I keep, guard, observe
Definition: I keep, guard, observe, watch over.
i know it is hard for you to believe jpt

but salvation is a gift

by grace through faith

and every brother and sister i know do keep His commandments

guard them as what is righteous and just

observe them in hopes to grow our walk

watch over them despite the worlds conflicting standards

and generally uphold them;)

though not for the cause of salvation

that would be "works salvation"

which isnt biblical

and is a huge error that Gods inspired word calls "a stumbling block"

It is nice to not have to deal with those who twist, embellish, add to, or change what I say.......sometimes ignorance is bliss......thankful for the ignore button......very rare for me to use it, but every now and then.....it is warranted.....

No. You plainly attacked me with your derogatory and demeaning post, because I stated that obedience is a requirement of salvation.

Please stop resisting the truth.

Only those who obey the truth will be saved.

you keep your business transaction if you want...

Romans 4
4 What shall we say then that Abraham our father, as pertaining to the flesh, hath found?

2 For if Abraham were justified by works, he hath whereof to glory; but not before God.

3 For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.

4 Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt.

5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,

7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.

And i think the whole room needs to nold this person accountable, ot just me!

VERY GOOD POINT, AND THOSE WHO THINK THEY ARE SINLESS, HAVE NO ANSWER.

Deuteronomy 8:5-6 (NKJV)
5 You should know in your heart that as a man chastens his son, so the LORD your God chastens you.
6 Therefore you shall keep the commandments of the LORD your God, to walk in His ways and to fear Him.

Hebrews 12:6-8 (HCSB)
6 for the Lord disciplines the one He loves and punishes every son He receives.
7 Endure ⌊suffering⌋ as discipline: God is dealing with you as sons. For what son is there that a father does not discipline?
8 But if you are without discipline—which all receive—then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

OH MY, I THINK THOSE WHO THINK THEY ARE SINLESS, OVERLOOKED THAT VERSE.

1 Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV)
13 Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,
14 or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men--
16 as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.
17 Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king,
{In this country that would be President Donald Trump.}

EVEN IF IT IS FOR BREAKING THE SPEED ORDINANCES.

GOD game me a tool, to help me from accidentally breaking the SPEED ORDINANCES.

It is called SPEED CONTROL.

See what I mean about getting old. I typed that second to the bottom line, and proof read it twice, and and all three times I READ the second word as GAVE, and now I look, and it is GAME, instead of GAVE that I thought I had typed. Makes me want to say, "The shoot horses don't they?"

I just noticed this too:

Heb. 12:8 (HCSB)
8 But if you are without discipline—which all receive—then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

NOTICE, IT SAYS ALL, that verse can put the False Doctrine, of WE NEVER SIN, out of business.
