References in verses 5 and 6 to falling away, and a lack of restoration, are easily misconstrued to imply a lack of salvation.
It has nothing to do with outward flesh of a Jew as natural unconverted or not born again men, of no faith. Their assumed faith is in respect to the things seen as if the kingdom of God was of this world.
They thought because they had Jewish flesh it was all the familiarity needed. That kind of fleshly familiarity that some thought they are born with created hatred for the Son of man and led to killing the Son of man because he would not provide for them a outward display and come ad bring fire down of the Gentile nations . He rebuked them for not having the proper manner of Spirit . God who is not a man us rejected that kind of familiarity. Spewing them from his mouth those who had become comfortly numb because of the flesh they were born with. No abiding comfort from the Holy Spirit our teacher comforter and guide who also brings to our minds the thing he has taught us. He eternal God not seen must increase, as we the temporal that are seen must decrease.
