No one said we cannot do good, we just cannot ever be perfect which is God's standard.

That is the good news, my dear, not only my belief system.

He fulfilled all of the 318 prophecies made about the Messiah.
Which 318 prophecies are you referring to? And how are you counting them?

To me it's obvious that there are prophecies in the Old Testament that Jesus did not fulfill before ascending into heaven in Acts chapter 1. Jesus did say that he came to fulfill the law and the prophets, and I believe he succeeded.

How convenient this is. So, a man who lives a life killing and raping women, is jailed, miraculously converts, and just before his execution, he says "Lord,, forgive me", and he is Saved. It simply does not make sense.

Being saved is a life-long process, not some one time event/prayer/ or declaration (yes, I know many here believe that). I do not. I think it is rather what we did all our lives from beginning to end that counts ... a kind of weighing of the scales. Example: a serial killer has demonstrated that he is without conscience so I highly suspect his deathbed "repentace". It is more than words owe or the right beliefs. It is who we are and what we do "overall" in this life that will matter. Otherwise, people can just use grace as an excuse and sin and then say "oh I am so sorry". I will stop ... until he does it again.
Good day Blance!

Salvation is having faith in Christ from beginning to the end. Regarding it being a "life-long process" I would direct your attention to the thief who was crucified next to the Lord who said, "Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom." To which Christ replied, "today you will be with me in paradise." The man was saved as he was dying on the cross. He had no time to be baptized or to perform any good works, but was saved by his faith alone. That said, if that serial killer was sincere in his confession of Christ and truly repented--and God knows whether he was or not--he would be forgiven for any crimes that he committed and all sin.

In addition, salvation is not a "life-long process" in that, our good works are not being weighed out and that because we are not saved by works, but by our faith in Christ as the One who provided salvation for us, completely and fully and not by anything that we can do. While it is true that we will receive rewards for our good works, that is those that make it through the fire, But salvation has already been attained as we continue having faith in Christ.

Yes, Grace it is your belief system. Grace through faith alone. Protestantism and Fundamentalist Protestantism at that . Not believed by all protestants, not by Catholics and not by other faiths. I know, of course, your belief that you, and only you (general you, meaning fundamentalist christianity) believe that. It is the doctrine you learned. Not the one I learned.

I dont think of it as 'good works' but as a way of living modeled after Jesus teachings to us. It is lifelong. Yes, there is hope of Salvation for all from all faiths. I agree. G

I was Catholic.

It has great appeal if you think are a good enough for God, but all Catholics are being lied to and that is a fact.

What one is taught can be wrong. I knew something was wrong, searched and found the pearl of great price.
Complacency in one's belief's is a huge risk with eternal consequences.

There is only one truth, one door, on way and few find it because few dare search for it, or recognize it, because they prefer to depend on their pride or trust the authority of others,

His name is Jesus, He is the Truth, the Way and the Life.

Then where is the truth found if not in the Doctrine you believe, the Church you go to, and what you are told?
What is truth when even within Protestantism there are so many different denominations and views. Some mainline protestant churches do not believe in a literal Bible (example United Methodist and Episcopalian Churches); others do.
You have searched and searched ... I dont doubt that , but how do you know for sure that you have the absolute truth when within Christianity (not catholicism), as the many many denominations differ from one another significantly. One example: some churches read the bible literally and others do not (Methodist and Episcopalian, and Church of England come to mind, but there are more. And doctrines differ. What to do?

I have no denomination affiliation.

Do you know me, how and when I searched and for how long? I doubt it.

The Truth is valuable what is valuable is attacked by Satan constantly.

It is not about the denominations, the Gospel itself is simple, which denominations present it clearly I do not know.

Jesus died for you, even if you were the only one He would have done it just for you. It is a personal belief.

You can never achieve perfection which is the standard that makes us acceptable to God.

Believe/Trust upon, the complete work that Jesus did for you with all your heart and mind, in prayer to God and you will be born again.

In other words give up trying to save yourself and accept/trust in the work that Jesus has done for you because HE LOVES YOU!!!!

Repenting is changing your mind, that is why we are called to repent.

I think you missed what I meant. I said I DONT DOUBT that you have searched long and hard. Was not questioning your faith at all.
Just feel we need to be a little more flexible and allow for a slightly different take. I read alot on these boards and I see lots of disagreement, yet its' the same religioin .. so it does happen. It is not wrong to question ... to search for the answer.
Did not mean to upset you. Take care.

So you have no affiliation with any Denomination, do you at least attend a Church as every Christian should?

I always worry about rouge Christians, who go off on their own private journey. They always get lost in themselves.

You say the Gospel is simple, that's just not true at all. The Gospel is the most controversial document in all of human history, we have had so many wars over the different ways to understand the Gospel. So many Christians have been killed by other Christians, because they disagree over the meaning of the Gospel.

Please remember all of those Christians who died as martyrs, or in wars to defend their right to worship God. We are fast approaching the time when we will persecuted an d maybe even killed for our faith in Christ. It may very well cost us our lives yet.

Jesus said we will be persecuted for His Names sake. He didn't say we might be persecuted, He said we will be.

Don't confuse the subject. My point being is that, the man on the cross was saved in a moment just prior to death because of his faith. Regarding your claim that "salvation from all faiths," that is a lie from Satan, for regarding this Jesus said the following:

"Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." - John 14:6

And regarding salvation being a life-long process. For those who continue in faith from beginning to end, scripture says the following:

"I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. - 1 John 5:13

The reason that no one can be saved except through faith in Christ, is because He is the only one to live a perfect life in the flesh and paid the penalty for sin. It is through faith in Him that the believer are credited with His righteousness and are reconciled to God. Only those who have faith in Jesus will be saved.

For the record, I never said "Yes, there is hope of Salvation for all from all faiths" as you will not find that in my post. Those are your words, not mine, which are false. Jesus is the only way to the Father. As scripture says, "Whoever has the Son has life, whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life."

You know there was a hermit prophet who practically didn't associate with people yet he was a great servant of God it can be spiritually good to gather together but, it isn't necessary.

Not sure how simplicity connects to how controversial the gospel is?

Some, not all denominations are methods of control, as well I worry about the business component to denominations. I prefer to open my home to fellow believers sip tea and discuss scripture. We all know scripture is best understood from the finished work of the cross so there really is very little to debate only learn.

Not every Christian has been persecuted for their faith especially in the west but I agree there is definitely a shift.

I believe the Gospel, but I don't understand it and neither do you or anyone else here. I notice you ignored the fact that no denomination agrees with any other one over what the Gospel means. Everyone understands it differently, you ignored that fact and just came up with a sarcastic remark which shows you don't have a position. Everyone says the same thing you did but none of them agree with each other, quite silly really

You are guaranteed to be deceived by Satan if you sip tea at home and study the scriptures. God has appointed shepherds to teach us, a small group of sheep is bound to pervert the Gospel. So I would strongly suggest you obey God and join His Church, where you can graze on His Word and have His shepherds lead you to green pastures. If you wonder off, you will get lost and starve to death.

I'll get back to you later on that since obviously you need "attention" in detail which I can't do since I have to go get food now, but, so as to not leave you hanging too much, I am Baptist, and I believe that one is only saved by accepting Jesus and his works.

How many ways does the Bible have to say that it is a sin before people will get it?

Yes, it is a sin so it's time for people to own up to it and the same goes for all other sins...own up to it, repent, ask for help.

We can't just go in and take whatever we don't like out and say it is not a sin when the Bible clearly states what is a sin....

Who said there is no shepherd?

I rather follow and what the first century believers did and immerse in real fellowship than sit in a pew with mostly strangers.
