absolutely

right. in the case of Isaiah 55, the ONLY application is to consider what God says about HIMSELF

and kudos on understanding that God will never give a person a word that contradicts what He has already said
It has to do with the prophetic.
Kinda like the 7 letters to the 7 churches.
Some say ,in context, they are solely for those 7 churches.

Welcome to the "BDF!" :)

To me, verse 11, is just giving the reader an exclamation point, God the Father sets out "Proclaiming Joyfully" in Chapter 51:7, and continues on til the end of chapter 58. Which is the "Coming of Messiah!"

Not that it "can't" mean, that which the OP (original post/er) states, or believes. But? It means "So MUCH MORE!"
He didnt leave us his word to never be spoken.
His word goes out through us.
We are his mouthpiece

Prayer is part of the basic christian walk.
How do you know you are praying his will.?
James 4 says ye ask and recieve not because you ask amiss ( not praying the word of God back to him)

do you see a relation between Isaiah 55 and James 4?

I'm familiar with both but when James writes of asking amiss, he doesn't mean praying from ignorance. he means asking for things that are wrong to ask for...like 3 cadillacs in the driveway or harm upon someone you don't get along with

I do pray from scripture but Isaiah is not at all speaking of prayer. it is speaking of God sending out His word

do we send His word back to Him? actually knowing His word is one way we will not pray in the way that James warns us is not the way to pray

for example, here is something from Paul that helps us to understand that the will of God is applicable to ALL in a general sense:

15Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, 16making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, 19speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, 20always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.

personally, I think a good number go off the rails regarding what God's will is because they do not even understand His general will, revealed to all through His word

so many want to know what God's will for their lives is, when He has already told them

but yes, I absolutely do believe that God can and does give specific directions to the individuals but folks run into trouble when they operate their entire Christian walk that way

to me it means what God says is 'as good as gospel' haha

He will do all His will. when He says, "let there be" then there is. when He says "I will deliver" He surely delivers. He does not fail :)
for example as He tells the apostles, what you bind or loose on earth shall have already been bound or loosed in heaven. they do not bind and loose on their own authority or leading. already done by His own word; it is effective!
Read mat 18:18,19
Way different than what you wrote.

hmmm

when I hear people say 'the prophetic' I have come to understand that means different things to people

I would disagree that there is a specific application whoever the 'some' may be, but I would be curious about who the 'some' are if you want to reveal that

I would at the same time say that it can be applied generally both in our lives in the sense that God does absolutely keep His word to us but in a far more revealing application, it illustrates the faithfulness of God and that He esteems His word more than we do

we need to understand what God says, where He says it and to whom He says it

but as we know,

16 All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God[a]may be thoroughly equipped for every good work. II Timothy 3

The most powerful worship is scripture songs.
These songs are singing Gods word back to him.
There are several types of prayer.
Petition prayer is what most are familiar with.
That type involves presenting ones case to the throne.
Try doing it out of step with his will or his word.
Now try it with the Word of God
You are sending his word back to him.

I just had never realized that praying scripture was sending God's word back to him.
Not saying that " only according to and because of Isaiah" i fashion my prayer , or that God needs more context, or that i fit every prayer into a scripture verse.
Only making available to others what God showed me.
It is a powerful tool God left us.

I heard a story about unanswered prayer.
This guy had prayed over 20 years for his uncle's conversion.
One day he asked the Lord why his prayer was unanswered. The Lord told him he was praying amiss. He told him to pray mat 9:38.
It was about 2 weeks later that that verse which went to the throne saw the answer. He got born again through intercession.
See how his word spoken back to the throne accomplishes what it says?

You can set the bar higher. It is up to each believer to choose the level of victory and power to walk and live in.
We can plant the seed and water it. But God alone causes the healing if any.

He sets the victory

we have victory through Him. It is a given that victory is through Him. He basically supplied the tools and avenues.
Carnal, nominal believers walk in shallow victory.
Read the 7 letters to the 7 churches and note what changes were needed for victory.
The corinthians were carnal believers. That would rob victory big time.
No,it is up to us to determine the level of victory.

It is exciting walking with Jesus. Always forward. He is a forward God. A God of increase and extravagance.

Nothing wrong with revelations, my friend. However one also needs to ensure that what one is hearing is from the word of God as its easy to be mislead by our own thoughts. There's always consistency and harmony in God's revelations.... when He gives you a word it will be supported by all of scripture. That's why I said earlier, if you have a word or a thought or an idea, do some research to make sure that it doesn't contradict what we already know in God's word to be true.

My way of approaching scripture is this:
Start with an open mind, a blank slate if you will. Try to not let your own ideas or past experiences get in the way. Take scripture as it stands without trying to interpret some deeper meaning. Try to read scripture at face value and see what it says on a surface level first. Then try to see who and what is was written for in its original context. Finally, ask God if there's some other deeper truth He wants you to understand regarding it.

In terms of new revelation, my opinion is this, it rarely happens. God has already given His word and He has given us everything we need for life today. There are no "new" ideas that we haven't yet discovered or prophetic revelations that we might still have yet to receive. I know that in our daily lives God can often reveal different things to us... open our mind to a new way of looking at something or cause us to see something in a way that we haven't seen before. But his Spirit-inspired revelation is always consistent with scripture.

10 For as the rain cometh down, and the snow from heaven, and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

11 So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.
We need to see the connection between the positive effects of rain on seed which is sown, and the supernatural power of the Gospel and the Word of God. Since the Gospel is the power of God unto salvation to everyone who believes (Rom 1:16) and since faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (Rom 10:17), we are being told of the supernatural power of the Word of God.

And since we are born again with the incorruptible seed of the Word of God which is also called the Gospel (1 Pet 1:23-25), it should be clear that verse 11 is speaking about the impact of the Gospel and the Word of God on the hearts and minds of people. When the Gospel, is preached the Holy Spirit is right there to generate faith and bring sinners to repentance. When the Word of God is taught, it brings truth and light to the hearers who are not wilfully blind and deaf, and transforms them through the renewing of the mind.

....And, what say you, should, the Spirit of God "snatch" someone by the shorthairs of one's neck, when one has enrolled in a bible course at some "illustrious" facility of (supposed) "Higher Biblical Studies & Knowledge", and ask?: "You want them to teach you, or you want ME, to teach you?"

Romans 11
5 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.
6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then it is no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.
7 What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded.
8 (According as it is written, God hath given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear;) unto this day.
9 And David saith, Let their table be made a snare, and a trap, and a stumblingblock, and a recompence unto them:
10 Let their eyes be darkened, that they may not see, and bow down their back alway.

Jez sayin' man! The "Word of God" is "larger" then "THE BOX!"

I think I agree with that pretty much ;) The word of God is larger than the box, however you can rest assured He won't give you an instruction or revelation which goes against what He has already said, as I alluded to.

Yet, as "eyes open" and "ears hear", one would be given "an understanding" of the Holy, which causes one, in looking, or viewing things, in "such" a broader light, then the atypical "traditions of men" "chief fathers" etc. etc. teachings allude to.

Such as? How do you "view", or interpret today's "canonized" Bible, as a whole?

(I would stick around, and converse with ya....but? "life" such as it is, beckons...like some great white whale :))

I do not disagree with your post

but I see God's word performing throughout the Bible from Genesis on...He spoke creation into existence

I also particularly like Psalm 107...He SENT His word and healed them

this Psalm covers alot of territory and speaks of physical salvation but could be applied spiritually I guess but it shows how God's word is really both physical and spiritual. He's got all of it covered

O give thanks unto the Lord, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom he hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;

3 And gathered them out of the lands, from the east, and from the west, from the north, and from the south.

4 They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.

5 Hungry and thirsty, their soul fainted in them.

6 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he delivered them out of their distresses.

7 And he led them forth by the right way, that they might go to a city of habitation.

8 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

9 For he satisfieth the longing soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, being bound in affliction and iron;

11 Because they rebelled against the words of God, and contemned the counsel of the most High:

12 Therefore he brought down their heart with labour; they fell down, and there was none to help.

13 Then they cried unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.

14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

15 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

16 For he hath broken the gates of brass, and cut the bars of iron in sunder.

17 Fools because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.

18 Their soul abhorreth all manner of meat; and they draw near unto the gates of death.

19 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he saveth them out of their distresses.

20 He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.

21 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing.

23 They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;

24 These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.

25 For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth up the waves thereof.

26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.

27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wit's end.

28 Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.

29 He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

30 Then are they glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them unto their desired haven.

31 Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!

32 Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people, and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

33 He turneth rivers into a wilderness, and the watersprings into dry ground;

34 A fruitful land into barrenness, for the wickedness of them that dwell therein.

35 He turneth the wilderness into a standing water, and dry ground into watersprings.

36 And there he maketh the hungry to dwell, that they may prepare a city for habitation;

37 And sow the fields, and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.

38 He blesseth them also, so that they are multiplied greatly; and suffereth not their cattle to decrease.

39 Again, they are minished and brought low through oppression, affliction, and sorrow.

40 He poureth contempt upon princes, and causeth them to wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.

41 Yet setteth he the poor on high from affliction, and maketh him families like a flock.

42 The righteous shall see it, and rejoice: and all iniquity shall stop her mouth.

43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the Lord.

that's pretentious

something wrong with asking questions?

you know, you never replied as to where you 'received' all these exciting revelations

I have been praying scripture for years...it's not a revelation..glad for you if you just came across it now, but why have the attitude that only you know anything?

that's pretty typical of alot of people who come here, and this is a discussion forum.

I agree praying scripture...but there are plenty of prayers IN scripture to pray

a great one from Paul is this: (Ephesians 1)..

17 That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:

18 The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,

20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,

21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:

22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,

23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.

I want to understand what those things mean..I do not want to know about the angels someone saw or the glitter and feathers falling or the so called new apostles and prophets

I am not a cessationist, but there is a lot of error passing as new revelatory insight and no discernment it seems
