First of all. Catholicism and Christianity are two different things. I believe this happened in Catholicism because they are not allowed to marry. The bible says to marry rather than burn. Religion does bring about more evil than good. The body of Christ is not a religious organization. The body of Christ are people who are all of the same spirit, and are all being brought into the same understanding. These other organizations are all divided. A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand. I think that now is the time to check our religion.
There is absolutely no scientific evidence that celibacy is a factor in sex abuse. The OP attacks the priesthood itself under the pretense of standing up against a small % sex abusers. Joseph Geobbles, minister of propaganda for Nazi Germany, used the same excuse in 1932. 1000 ministers and priests were rounded up, most of them killed. In here, it's the same poop, different toilet.

You talk about division. The CC officially and formally recognizes other churches as a means to salvation, sources of grace and truth, and that Protestants are our brothers and sisters.(CCC817-820) What we get in return should be evident in this thread alone. More division.

Religion, depending on what definition you use, does not bring evil. The abuse of religion can bring evil. Using the Bible to attack the Church is not in the Bible. Therefore it is a man made tradition.

Is it possible that religion through an unknown process produce more evil than good. I am just saying that because of all the scandals that have recently come out especially sexual scandals. These are not a few people but large scale organized rapes! For example, it looks like every catholic priest is an abuser and all bishops approved that (may be even the pope). When I see that I am ashamed to be a christian. Why does something that is supposed to make us good, produce so much evil?
I'm not a fan of former now dead Beatles member John Lennon however I do appreciate his observation on religion.
“I believe in God, but not as one thing, not as an old man in the sky. I believe that what people call God is something in all of us. I believe that what Jesus and Mohammed and Buddha and all the rest said was right. It's just that the translations have gone wrong.”

I think that encapsulates religion itself.

Religious deception

Jesus Christ list things in the Olivet prophecy, that must come to pass before his return.
the first one that is over looked is religious deception , that even started back then.

4And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

6For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

8And he said, Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name,
saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come,
even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time.
-

Why did John not wright about the Olivet prophecy as others did ?
Johns version of the Olivet prophecy, Revelation, chapter 6. first four seals

Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,
hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof” (Rev 5:5).

-
And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow;
and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth conquering, and to conquer.

The first and most deadly horseman is[was] religious deception!
This horseman has wreaked havoc on mankind with religious wars throughout history.

The word conquer means “to come off with the victory” that the largest organized
religious “cult”on Earth today waged the bloodiest battles ever, in the name of God.

The Catholic church is NOT the harlot. That would be Islam who gave birth to its jihadist sects who commit the abominations of the earth on a daily basis. The other day one Sunni teenager blew himself up blew up at a Shia French run high school where teenagers were doing their entrance exams and killed almost 50 teenagers.

Afgan suicide bomber

Two women suicide bombers blew themselves up in a crowded place in Nigeria killing 10 people.

Adamawa

Suicide bombers....they're right here....

And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone.

"And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire... (suicide vest)

The word for breastplates is the word 'thorax,' and were held by straps that went over the shoulders or around the neck.

"...and of jacinth," (dark red)...

From Vines....
Jacinth:
signifies "hyacinthine," perhaps primarily having the color of the hyacinth. Some regard its color as that of the martagon lily, a dusky red. According to Swete, the word 'jacinth' in Rev 9:17 is, "doubtless meant to describe the blue smoke of a sulphurous flame."

"...and brimstone:...." sparks and explosion.

This is the only place the word 'brimstone' or Strong's #2306 is used in the NT. Strong's #2306 comes from 2303 and says, "in its original sense of "flashing."
"...and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; (Babylonians) and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone."

The Islamic whore of Babylon promises it's fanatical adherents a mansion in paradise with as many as 72 bedrooms and 72 virgins for filling the harlots cup. The amount of virgins they get is dependent upon the magnitude of the abomination they commit. The Islamic whore will terrorize the world into submission using some of the most horrific means available to man today. The next 911 is just around the corner.
Islam and the Koran was created by the RCC. The greek word for "pale horse" should be green (chloros) I believe that is Islam in Revelation. The RCC fits every description.

Revelation 17:4, "And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication.

Revelation 17:6, "And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Yahshua."

Rome by far killed the most Nazerites/Christians.

Revelation 17:9, "And here is the mind which has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits."

Revelation 13:18, "Here is wisdom: Let him who has understanding count the number of the beast; for it is the as number of a man. And his number is 666."

Daniyl 7:25, "And he will speak great words against YHWH, and will wear out; mentally attack to cause to fall away, the saints of YHWH, and think to change times and Laws…"

H.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons - “Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change (Saturday Sabbath to Sunday) was her act...And the act is a mark of her ecclesiastical authority in religious things.”

Under Constantine the Great Jewish clergy were given the same exemptions as Christian clergy.[1] Constantine, however, supported the separation of the date of Easter from the Jewish Passover (see also Quartodecimanism), stating in his letter after the First Council of Nicaea (which had already decided the matter):

"... it appeared an unworthy thing that in the celebration of this most holy feast we should follow the practice of the Jews, who have impiously defiled their hands with enormous sin, and are, therefore, deservedly afflicted with blindness of soul ... Let us then have nothing in common with the detestable Jewish crowd; for we have received from our Saviour a different way."usebius, Life of Constantine Vol. III Ch. XVIII Life of Constantine (Book III)

Theodoret's Ecclesiastical History records The Epistle of the Emperor Constantine, concerning the matters transacted at the Council, addressed to those Bishops who were not present:

"It was, in the first place, declared improper to follow the custom of the Jews in the celebration of this holy festival, because, their hands having been stained with crime, the minds of these wretched men are necessarily blinded. ... Let us, then, have nothing in common with the Jews, who are our adversaries. ... Let us ... studiously avoiding all contact with that evil way. ... For how can they entertain right views on any point who, after having compassed the death of the Lord, being out of their minds, are guided not by sound reason, but by an unrestrained passion, wherever their innate madness carries them. ... lest your pure minds should appear to share in the customs of a people so utterly depraved. ... Therefore, this irregularity must be corrected, in order that we may no more have any thing in common with those parricides and the murderers of our Lord. ... no single point in common with the perjury of the Jews.” Ecclesiastical History by Theodoret. The churches are in the bible, they were the churches that Paul tried to stop. They were starting little bodies, breaking away from the main body. Well what do you think that the great falling away is. There is no problem with celibacy. But evidentaly the priest had a problem with it.

That's man definition of Christianity.
James 1:26-27 26Those who consider themselves religious and yet do not keep a tight rein on their tongues deceive themselves, and their religion is worthless. 27Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
I'm not intentionally trying to be deceitful, but in my opinion Christianity is of the world. I believe that Christianity of today is the great fallen away. It's not what was started through Jesus and the apostles.
No difference- Christianity is the Religion that God our Father accepts. I am religious and keep a tight rein on my tonuge, my RELIGION is not worthless. I keep myself through continual communion with Christ , that keeps me from being polluted. I give where I can and when. Christianity was not started by Christ?

Apply that to yourself and we can end this silliness. Even if you don't, I'm done. No point in repeating myself.
I have applied it to myself and the whole Church. I am not afraid to post statistics, study after study. But I am ashamed of them.
I would run too if I had to defend the OP's lies. This thread is called "Religion Generates Evil" , then the OP attacks the Catholic Priesthood with phony exaggerations. I said this topic is a waste of time. It ends up a meaningless mud fight. Religion generates evil when lies and bigotry is used against any belief system that's different than yours. The thread title and the OP generates bigotry and more lies, but I wouldn't call it evil. I would call it self-defeating.

The city of seven 'mountains'
And here is the mind which hath wisdom....

Wisdom speaks louder than preconceived ideas...

Protestants have called Rome or the Vatican a city of seven hills for ages. Not only have they associated them with Rome, they have also attributed all the evils of the man of sin to the church! Even saying the Church would produce both the anti-Christ and false prophet.

There are about 20 cities on the planet labeled, "a city of seven hills."
Rome, and especially Vatican hill, IS NOT the city of seven hills or seven mountains mentioned in Revelation 17!

The Protestants and the reformers had a lot to do with that misleading blunder! Mecca also has seven hills. Jerusalem.... has seven mountains, which is the correct rendering of the text.

Revelation 17:9 And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth.

The word 'hills' is an incorrect translation. The word is 'oros' which is better translated 'mountains' anyway! The only time the word 'oros' implies a hill is when the context does so. In Revelation 17:9 the passage in no way suggest 'hills.'

Rome does not sit on seven mountains!

There are seven hills on the East side of the Tiber. 'Vatican Hill' sits on the west side of the Tiber. THAT MAKES 8 HILLS TOTAL! AND!...

The 7 hills on the east side of the Tiber, and Vatican hill on the west side of the Tiber, 8 total, are too small to be designated as 'mountains'. In fact, the 7 hills on the East side of the Tiber are so small they appear as little nubs when viewed from a distance, You can hardly tell they are there!

The seven hills of Rome are...
Aventine Hill (Latin, Aventinus; Italian, Aventino)
Caelian Hill (Caelius, Celio)
Capitoline Hill (Capitolium, Campidoglio)
Esquiline Hill (Esquilinus, Esquilino)
Palatine Hill (Palatinus, Palatino)
Quirinal Hill (Quirinalis, Quirinale)
Viminal Hill (Viminalis, Viminale)

There are only two cities that qualify as a city of seven mountains. East Jerusalem and Mecca! And I'm not sure if the hills around Mecca are large enough to qualify as mountains.
Mecca
Vatican

If John wanted to indicate HILLS he probably would have used this word...
Hill

But he didn't. He used this word...
Mountain

Rome will have absolutely nothing to do with end-time prophecy.

"Babylon must sit on or occupy seven mountains, and I believe those mountains are the seven mountains that surround Jerusalem."

As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore, the psalmist writes. (Psalm 125:2)

These mountains are
Mount Zion (southwest, 2558 ft.),
Mount Gareb (west, 2518 ft.),
Mount Scopus (north, 2724 ft.)
Mount of Olives (east, 2641 ft.
Mount of Offense (southeast, 2411 ft.)
Mount of Evil Counsel (south, 2548 ft.) and at the center,
Mount Moriah (the temple mount, 2556 ft.)

Mount Moriah is at the center of these 7 mountains. This is the site of Solomon's and Herod's temple and upon it sits an anti-Christ monument called the Dome of the Rock and Al'Aqsa mosque? This Dome "sits upon" God's "HOLY PLACE" in East Jerusalem. Muslims want to make this area their world capital.

Besides being smaller, another difference between a mountain and a hill is that a mountain is characterized by a summit and hill does not have a summit.

These are images at the entryway of the Dome of the rock. The tour guide said "they emerged over time."

They are demons!

People changed it from what he started. That's why there are so many denominations. The truth hurts. It hurt me when I first heard it. I fought against it. When I finally gave in to it, there was no way I could start going back to church. It caters to your soul, but it is the spirit that need to be fed.

I know Catholicism's bad side but in the end they will not merge with Islam or become the beast. Muslim's believe this is the "Third and final Jihad." If anything, Catholics will help fight the jihadist in the end.

Walid or Theodore Shoebat has a great page showing Catholicism had nothing to do with Islam.

I think it important to have an open mind concerning prophecy, other than the marble images I have know all this for years, and honestly Jerusalem, Mecca and Rome all fit some of the description, I believe Rome fits eer description, particularly if ROme did indeed create Islam.

However with all that said:

Jeremiah 23:14-16,14 “And among the prophets of Yerushalayim I have seen a horrible matter: committing adultery and walking in falsehood. And they strengthen the hands of evil ones, so that no one turns back from his evil. All of them are like Seḏom to Me, and her inhabitants like Amorah."15 “Therefore thus said יהוה of hosts concerning the prophets, ‘See, I am making them eat wormwood, and shall make them drink poisoned water. For defilement has gone out into all the land from the prophets of Yerushalayim.’ ”"16 Thus said יהוה of hosts, “Do not listen to the words of the prophets who prophesy to you, they lead you astray. They speak a vision of their own heart, not from the mouth of יהוה."

I beleive Rome is the harlot of the beast system, this is my overwiew:

Satan (puppet-master)> Jerusalem (profaneness has gone out from)> Rome (woman riding beast)> America (Image)> Mecca (chloros horse)> Bank Owners (merchants) > Corporation Owners> Politicians> Church Leaders-Actors-Musicians-News Readers-etc.> continually>Down>the>Line>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Too much to go through the whole study here...

Catholic means Universal... They truly accept all religions, Rome may one day fight Islam because prophecy says this:

Rev 17:16 “And the ten horns which you saw on the beast, these shall hate the whore, and lay her waste and naked, and eat her flesh and burn her with fire."

If we really understand what the 10 horns/kings are, and how Islam is used it is clear, at least IMO.

What does one have to do with the other? I defend what I believe is right. I know you've been taught that Rome is the city of seven hills, but I research everything people say. I'm defending the truth, and it's not up to you to question my beliefs in Christ upon what I believe about the Vatican. I can turn the tables on that very quick! Try me!

Catholic church did not invent Islam

THe Pope claims to be "vicar of CHrist"

any believer in Yahshua can not accet this, as it is a man saying he is in the place of/christ in the flesh.

the catholic encycloped admits this.

THe Catholic Encyclopedia:
(Lat. Vicarius Christi).A title of the pope implying his supreme and universal primacy, both of honour and of jurisdiction, over the Church of Christ. It is founded on the words of the Divine Shepherd to St. Peter: "Feed my lambs. . . . Feed my sheep" (John 21:16-17), by which He constituted the Prince of the Apostles guardian of His entire flock in His own place, thus making him His Vicar and fulfilling the promise made in Matthew 16:18-19.In the course of the ages other vicarial designations have been used for the pope, as Vicar of St. Peter and even Vicar of the Apostolic See (Pope Gelasius, I, Ep. vi), but the title Vicar of Christ is more expressive of his supreme headship of the Church on earth, which he bears in virtue of the commission of Christ and with vicarial power derived from Him. Thus, Innocent III appeals for his power to remove bishops to the fact that he is Vicar of Christ (cap. "Inter corporalia", 2, "De trans. ep."). He also declares that Christ has given such power only to His Vicar Peter and his successors (cap. "Quanto", 3, ibid.), and states that it is the Roman Pontiff who is "the successor of Peter and the Vicar of Jesus Christ" (cap. "Licet", 4, ibid.). The title Vicar of God used for the pope by Nicholas III (c. "Fundamenta ejus", 17, "De elect.", in 6) is employed as an equivalent for Vicar of Christ.-----------------------------------WILLIAM H.W.

The ten horns and kings are an Islamic Caliphate of sorts situated in the Middle-East.

That's why I keep saying there will not be a global dictator, one world government or religion. The prophesied evil religion is here...Islam. The mark is limited to the kingdom of the man of sin and his sidekick Islamic false prophet.

I'm not even worried about islam, what will come of that will come. Catholicism worship a lot of idols. If you are Christian, you know that, that is unexceptable to God. No graven images.

THe Pope claims to be "vicar of CHrist"

any believer in Yahshua can not accet this, as it is a man saying he is in the place of/christ in the flesh.

the catholic encycloped admits this.

Could you bold the part that says he's in place of Christ in the flesh?
