The hottest temperature in my town this years summer was in January it got to 43 deg Celsius which is 109 deg Fahrenheit..

So i can assure you that you do not want to experience a day like that.. Actually you become an indoor / air conditioning refugee on days like that.. If you go outside and do any type of physical work you are risking death..

When it is cold a person can dress up with good warm cloths and go out and do stuff.. But when it gets hot it is harder to Keep oneself cool..

Yeah it is nice when things are warm,, like when it is 27 - 33 degrees Celsius, but once it starts to get past 34 and it is humid then life becomes really uncomfortable let me assure you..

Actually, it is a myth you can dress warm for the cold. Winters in much of Canada, any exposed skin will freeze. I used to go to school when I was -40 C/F and I had to have nothing but my eyes showing. It is easy to get frost bite on the fingers and toes, and lose them. I always wore two pairs of wool socks, Ugg boots, 2 pairs of gloves - one thermal mitts, the other warm, thin gloves, so you can use your keys, without bare hands. (Of course Keyless entry now does away with this problem.)

And when you have lived like that for a month or 2, plus low light levels, it is enough to drive you to distraction. We get lots of days where I am now in the 40s C. I love it! Of course, I don’t do manual labour, but I do come alive when it is hot!

Winter.

[The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 10 characters.]
Changed my mind.

Summer. Healthier, I think. Plus, deep personal reasons that are difficult to articulate. Oh, and I love mangoes.

In March of 2017, you probably saw me driving around Phoenix. My sister goes there from November to April. She likes to leave once the rattlesnakes are really biting! This year, she got a new trail bicycle for her birthday in April. First trip out on the biking trails, a rattlesnake attacked and bit 2 large holes through the tire. Then she knew it was time to go home to Ontario.

a little of both = sumter...
Is the word "sumner" a mix of autumn and summer, tho? :p There's an area in TN called Sumner.

Only kidding, but I understand what you mean.

Having lived in Michigan for 28 years and now having been in Florida for 25 years I can say that I prefer summer over winter. I also did 8 years in Maine so I understand cold full well and really don't care for it at all.

I am getting higher in numbers and becoming more sensitive to the cold. Of course, I am fully acclimated to the high temps in Florida. I do love the change of seasons but the winters up north last much longer than 3 months.

We are going to relocate to Tennessee within a couple years so while there will be change of seasons the winters are of short duration. I lived there for 3 years in Clarksville which is on the border of Kentucky and my wife has lived there too for a few years outside of Nashville. She has her heart set on Gatlinburg which is in the SE corner of the state. I can readily handle a Tennessee winter but really nothing further north than that.

Of course, we want to see Alaska one day but that will be in a summer month if there is such a thing.

The A/C just kicked in but I can handle that type of cold because, baby, it's hot outside.

Good old Alaska where the state bird is the mosquito. Short summer and hungry bugs. I would like to go and experience 40 below. Great fishing when the water is liquid and not ice.

Can we all agree to speak American and use the Kings English which is FAHRENHEIT!?

We get all 4 seasons which I like, but unlike most other people who get old, I like summer less and less. So pencil me in for winter.

Lately we have had rain and lots of it. Oh and tons of humidity to boot.

I was watching a show where a mob guy chose a cold region over a worm one like the Bahamas. At first I thought I would choose worm, then I realized I LOVE "fat" cloths like sweaters, thick coats, layers... Anything but showing my real size...lol.. So as much as I hate the cold, if I had to relocate, because I was a mob guy and people wanted to kill me, I think I would choose the cold...

Would you want summer or winter if you had to relocate?
The order --->Fall, winter, spring and I hate summer

...Fast forward a few months...

Summer.

These days, winter scares me for some reason, and I almost don't know why. It's an unnerving feeling that I can't quite put my finger on.
Oh well.

Do you live in snow country? I have always loved winter..in the past. Now that I am a mature adult, I kind of dislike any extremes, but that is me.

May your winter be good to you, a blessing with God' ever Presence to comfort you. All Love in Jesus, Yeshua...

Ohio.

Winter used to be good to me, but there was a point where I felt the world change somehow and when that happened, winter was no longer the same. It's difficult to articulate. Winter just feels wrong. It feels "off". It's a lot like walking into a very big room that is supposed to have an echo, but for some reason, there is none. Does that make sense?

Ultimately, I prefer spring -- my favorite month is May -- but the choices are either winter or summer. 🤷‍♀️

I was gone for just over a couple of months (closer to three) and missed seeing you around when I came back about a week ago. I am glad to see you are still here! As to the OP, I do not care for excessive heat, and as Blaine said, it is easier to warm up when it is cold than it is to cool off when it is too hot. My fans are still going and it was about 16 degrees Celsius on my way home tonight (Note to Ed: when I speak Fahrenheit, my daughter has no idea what I am talking about! :D). My preference is room temperature :giggle:

Your description of the big room with no echo takes the breath away.

It could sell be your heart goes out to all and you are aware within that many suffer so much and needlessly these days.

Also, it is possible I have been feeling somethng very similar, and it is not due to my age., so I must thank you for sharing this.

Even though I have loved all seasons, I do like Spring more than any also. May you be well and fileld with God's Presence all seasons regardless because you care for all.....

And here I thought I was missing you inhere because of the new format. I do miss certain things but the new format is fine for me.

Here in Spain we use C º. This summer, even until now, the nights have not gone below 72ºF.......many at 27 C, and my fans are still going.

Myu solustion is to stay in during the day, but I do that all of the time, and have been for about 30 years....I just have no business being out late in the day or at night, but most folks do, so I am not saying others should not.

I did miss you........all blessings in our Father's love..........j
