Paul calls those MBA's and PHD's...dung - rubbish - garbage!! The only thing that is important is being born again and knowing Christ Jesus our Lord. Philippians 3:8

When 911 occurred God became very important. The reason God became very important is because the technology in America wasn't working. We had folks come over here with a plan who came from a less inferior civilization and a less inferior culture and cause superior damage. Who would've thought the center of economic enterprise of America would collapse? While the center of military powers would be attack. This ought tells us something! It doesn't matter how advance you are, how educated you have become, and how sophisticated you think you are...run far enough, long enough from God and you will soon discover!

The covering of America was removed which allowed 911. The evil one(s) were given access. The further you remove yourself from God the bigger the door opens for evil. The scripture says it like this, "But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong." 1 Corinthians 1:27 NIV

“18 For the preaching (Message) of the Cross is to them who perish foolishness (Spiritual things cannot be discerned by unredeemed people, but that doesn’t matter; the Cross must be preached just the same, even as we shall see); but unto us who are Saved it is the Power of God. (The Cross is the Power of God simply because it was there that the total sin debt was paid, giving the Holy Spirit, in Whom the Power resides, latitude to work mightily within our lives.)

19 For it is written (Isa. 29:14), I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent (speaks to those who are wise in their own eyes, in effect, having forsaken the Ways of the Lord).”

“20 Where is the wise? (This presents the first of three classes of learned people who lived in that day.) where is the Scribe? (This pertained to the Jewish Theologians of that day.) where is the disputer of this world? (This speaks of the Greeks, who were seekers of mystical and metaphysical interpretations.) has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? (This pertains to what God did in sending His Son to Redeem humanity, which He did by the Cross. All the wisdom of the world couldn’t do this!)

21 For after that in the Wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God (man’s puny wisdom, even the best he has to offer, cannot come to know God in any manner), it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching (preaching the Cross) to save them who believe. (Paul is not dealing with the art of preaching here, but with what is preached.)

“22 For the Jews require a sign (the sign of the Messiah taking the Throne and making Israel a great Nation once again), and the Greeks seek after wisdom (they thought that such solved the human problem; however, if it did, why were they ever seeking after more wisdom?):

23 But we preach Christ Crucified (this is the Foundation of the Word of God and, thereby, of Salvation), unto the Jews a stumblingblock (the Cross was the stumblingblock), and unto the Greeks foolishness (both found it difficult to accept as God a dead Man hanging on a Cross, for such Christ was to them);”

What are you disagreeing with? Is not the Cross the place where Jesus accomplished His finished work? And is it not in that finished work that we are placing our faith?

I agree that the 'cross' is an idol to those that simply wear it on a chain around their neck as though it were a magic talisman. So to is it an idol to those that wear the crucifix with a dead, powerless Jesus upon it. There is a reason that our crosses are empty - because of the resurrection.

Was it not to a cross, of sorts, that Moses instructed the children of Israel to look upon to avoid dying in the wilderness?

"And the LORD said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a pole: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he looketh upon it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he beheld the serpent of brass, he lived" (Numbers 21:8-9).

Was not the 'fiery serpent' a type of the dying Christ?

I’ve a message from the Lord, hallelujah!
This message unto you I’ll give,
’Tis recorded in His word, hallelujah!
It is only that you “look and live.”
Refrain:
“Look and live,” my brother, live,
Look to Jesus now, and live;
’Tis recorded in His word, hallelujah!
It is only that you “look and live.”
I’ve a message full of love, hallelujah!
A message, O my friend, for you,
’Tis a message from above, hallelujah!
Jesus said it, and I know ’tis true.
Life is offered unto you, hallelujah!
Eternal life thy soul shall have,
If you’ll only look to Him, hallelujah!
Look to Jesus who alone can save.

I will tell you how I came, hallelujah!
To Jesus when He made me whole—
’Twas believing on His name, hallelujah!
I trusted and He saved my soul.

drivel . . . the idol called "the Cross".
"And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel" (Genesis 3:15).

I would not be so flippant as to call a fulfillment of prophecy drivel and an idol. Can you tell us how it is a fulfillment?

The events of 9/11 happened 17 years ago had nothing to do with technology. Whether they came from a less superior civilization is a matter of opinion as well as quantifying the degree of damage caused. The center of the economic enterprise of America is still in affect. What makes you believe that America was spiritually covered in the first place, let alone have this same covering removed? I started to move forward with my life the day after the attack and it holds little or no spiritual or biblical significance today.

Regarding the second post from the OP, the commentary in bold is not Scripture. It is the plagiarized commentary from a publication, and promotes a distorted understanding of Scripture. He has posted this passage with commentary previously.

Perhaps you wouldn't "be so flippant" as you call it. I call it directly confronting error.

Yes, I did ignore your question. Because the OP consistently presents a distorted view of the cross, discussing it in this context would only lend weight to the distortion.

Philippians 3:17-21 King James Version (KJV)

ENEMIES OF THE CROSS DOCTRINE

17 Brethren, be followers together of me (be "Fellow-imitators"), and mark them which walk so as you have us for an ensample (observe intently).

18 (For many walk (speaks of those attempting to live for God outside of the victory and rudiments of the Cross of Christ), of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping (this is a most serious matter), that they are the enemies of the Cross of Christ (those who do not look exclusively to the Cross of Christ must be labeled "enemies"):

19 Whose end is destruction (if the Cross is ignored, and continues to be ignored, the loss of the soul is the only ultimate conclusion), whose God is their belly (refers to those who attempt to pervert the Gospel for their own personal gain), and whose glory is in their shame (the material things they seek, God labels as "shame"), who mind earthly things.) (This means they have no interest in Heavenly things, which signifies they are using the Lord for their own personal gain.)

20 For our conversation (citizenship) is in Heaven (meaning the other ways will have no place in Heaven); from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ (the Rapture):

21 Who (the Lord) shall change our vile body (the Resurrection), that it may be fashioned like unto his Glorious body (every Saint will have a Glorified Body), according to the working whereby He is able even to subdue all things unto Himself. ("All things" are done through the Cross.)

JSM

"All things" are done through the Cross. If you leave the Cross, you enter death (Romans 8:1-2, 6, 13)

The majority of Christians know nothing about the Cross of Christ for sanctification. Justification delivers us from the penalty of sin, while sanctification delivers us from the power of sin. The Cross of Christ is as necessary for sanctification as it is for salvation (1 Cor. 1:18). For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God (Romans 8:14 NIV).

Two kinds of peace:

1. Justifying Peace - This is Peace with God, a legal standing. Rom. 8:7; Eph. 2:14-15

2. Sanctifying Peace - This is the Peace of God in the heart. Rom. 5:1, Rom. 8:6; 14:19; 15:13; Gal. 1:3

The first is the result of a legal standing. The second is the result of the Work of the Holy Spirit. The first is static, never fluctuates, the second changes almost from hour to hour. The first, every Christian has, the second, every Christian may have.

The Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus and the Law of Sin and Death (Rom. 8:2) are the two most powerful Laws in the Universe; the "Law of the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus" alone is stronger than the "Law of Sin and Death"; this means that if the Believer attempts to live for God by any manner other than Faith in Christ and the Cross, i.e., "The Finished Work", i.e., "The Blood of Jesus," they are doomed to failure.

If a Christians faith is not maintain exclusively in Christ and His Finished Work, i.e., The Cross, i.e., The BLOOD of Jesus, the works of the flesh will manifest.

Paul tells us this in the 5th Chapter of Galatians. The entire Book of Galatians, but especially the 5th Chapter, is a warning from Paul to the Church at Galatia, which is also meant for us. The warning is that if they place their faith in anything except “Christ and Him Crucified,” that “Christ shall profit you nothing” (Gal. 5:2).

The Apostle goes on to say that if the Believer doesn’t adhere to the Way of the Spirit, which is the Way of the Cross, then works of the flesh will manifest themselves. He said:

“Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of God” (Gal. 5:19-21).

Now let me say it again, because it is so very important:
If the Believer doesn’t understand the Cross of Christ, as it regards Sanctification, then, in some way, one or more of these “works of the flesh” are going to manifest themselves in his life. As stated, such is inevitable! The first four, “Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, and lasciviousness,” are obvious and easily understood. But the modern Christian quickly dismisses “idolatry, witchcraft, and heresies,” thinking they do not really apply today.

Everything that mans does dies; everything Jesus does lives forever and is blessed. Psalm 1:3

The Scripture is fine. The commentary in bold shows the error. The focus has been taken off Jesus Christ Himself and placed “exclusively” on “the Cross”. That is idolatry.

Calling one who challenges this error ‘an enemy if the cross’ is a ridiculous ad hominem attack and is a tacit admission that you cannot defend the error you promote.

Could be they're a disciple of Pentecostal pastor Jimmy Swaggert. It's wild that there are two members here who push very distorted views of the faith. Who knew they came in packs?
