A lot of Christian believers have difficulty when it comes to explaining the Trinity, how we worship a God Who is triune, He is absolutely one in His incorporeal, spiritual essence, but three in personhood. That is why we say that God is Spirit, He is the invisible God, although He has the ability to manifest in physical, human form and take on genuine flesh.

God is the omnipotent, omniscient, all-wise, invisible, Divine essence. Emanating from this essence within are three distinct minds: the minds of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These minds are all distinct from one another, and these minds constitute three Persons. The fullness of Deity is co-equally accessed by each Person, which is why we say they are each individually God, but the Persons are not each other.

The first person of the Trinity, the Father, is the eternal source and generator of the other two persons, of the Spirit and of the Son. When we say that Jesus is the Son of God, as well as God Himself, we say that because He is of the exact, same omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent "God" essence as the Father, and He is the "Son" in the sense of rank, as a procession of generation of Deity from the Father to the Son.

The doctrine of eternal generation of the Son, by the Father, does not mean that the Father created the Son at a point in time, which is what Arians would say. Rather, the eternal generation of the Son is an eternal personal act of the Father, wherein, by necessity of nature, not by choice of will, He generates the person (not the essence) of the Son, by communicating to Him the whole indivisible substance of the Godhead, without division, alienation, or change, so that the Son is the express image of His Father's person, and eternally continues, not from the Father, but in the Father, and the Father in the Son."

In a similar fashion, I am the son of a human being, and I am a human being at the same time. A father passes down genetics and other traits to his son, in the same way that God the Father generates the Son and the Spirit by His procession.

Hope this helped.

I had trouble with your gibberish trying to explain something that most of us wouldn't understand if God drew us a picture map. So I went to the website listed for clarification.

The Father brings forth the Son by the act of being God, not by an act of will, so that the Son fully shares in the Father's deity and glory as God. There has never been, nor is it possible for there to be, any God and Father without the Son.

God is an absolutely simple being. There are not three gods. There are not three Lords. There are not three parts of God. Rather, there are three who are Lord, three who are God, three who are One. The Father is not changed by being Father to the Son; Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one God eternally. The Son is not divided from the Father by being the Son; the Son is as near to the Father as the Father is to himself. There is distinction among the divine Persons, but there is no separation.
Clarification is not what I found. I don't profess to understand just how the Godhead fits together. It is more complex than man's perception. I mean omnipresence: just how is that achieved. Too much for my head.

Anyway, what I did find on that website were stark errors. The red text above: just what scripture did you deduce this from? How do we know how the Word came into being? The same goes for the orange text. How did you ever learn this? Both statements seem so wrong. I'm sure there is no scripture to explain.

When I finally got to the purple text, I just quit trying to see the point. All of the text presented is just wrong. You have not figured out a trinity. Better go back to Nicaea and start over.

Firstly, welcome to the community. :)
As you are new, which I am too, if you browse about the site after a subject search for Trinity you'll find this topic is very popular.

But as a word of warning, all your and those threads are inviting are accord. Agreement. Because if you find the right thread you'll see it discussed there, and Bluto was one such member with whom this was an issue, posting scriptures that do not agree with trinity or pursuing what is the One God counter argument , will get a member banned. Search the topic as I did. There's a slew of threads like yours.

I am in a way. I don't go along with some of the labels we put on things. I won't say God is three persons (person by def. is of a son). I will say three entities, but with the exception that we can't fully comprehend the Holy Spirit. That said, you can't separate the HS from the Father or the Son. It is what makes them God. Once in glory we will be included in the family. Probably, I over simplified the concept but that about covers it. :)

The Holy Spirit is known by many names and titles, most of
which denote some function or aspect of His ministry.

Author of Scripture: (2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16) The Bible is inspired, literally “God-breathed,” by the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity. The Spirit moved the authors of all 66 books to record exactly what He breathed into their hearts and minds. As a ship is moved through the water by wind in its sails, so the biblical writers were borne along by the Spirit’s impulse.

Comforter / Counselor / Advocate: (Isaiah 11:2; John 14:16; 15:26; 16:7) All three words are translations of the Greek parakletos, from which we get “Paraclete,” another name for the Spirit. When Jesus went away, His disciples were greatly distressed because they had lost His comforting presence. But He promised to send the Spirit to comfort, console, and guide those who belong to Christ. The Spirit also “bears witness” with our spirits that we belong to Him and thereby assures us of salvation.

Convicter of Sin: (John 16:7-11) The Spirit applies the truths of God to men’s own minds in order to convince them by fair and sufficient arguments that they are sinners. He does this through the conviction in our hearts that we are not worthy to stand before a holy God, that we need His righteousness, and that judgment is certain and will come to all men one day. Those who deny these truths rebel against the conviction of the Spirit.

Deposit / Seal / Earnest: (2 Corinthians 1:22; 5:5; Ephesians 1:13-14) The Holy Spirit is God’s seal on His people, His claim on us as His very own. The gift of the Spirit to believers is a down payment on our heavenly inheritance, which Christ has promised us and secured for us at the cross. It is because the Spirit has sealed us that we are assured of our salvation. No one can break the seal of God.

Guide: (John 16:13) Just as the Spirit guided the writers of Scripture to record truth, so does He promise to guide believers to know and understand that truth. God’s truth is “foolishness” to the world, because it is “spiritually discerned” (1 Corinthians 2:14). Those who belong to Christ have the indwelling Spirit who guides us into all we need to know in regard to spiritual matters. Those who do not belong to Christ have no “interpreter” to guide them to know and understand God’s Word.

Indweller of Believers: (Romans 8:9-11; Ephesians 2:21-22; 1 Corinthians 6:19) The Holy Spirit resides in the hearts of God’s people, and that indwelling is the distinguishing characteristic of the regenerated person. From within believers, He directs, guides, comforts, and influences us, as well as producing in us the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23). He provides the intimate connection between God and His children. All true believers in Christ have the Spirit residing in their hearts.

Intercessor: (Romans 8:26) One of the most encouraging and comforting aspects of the Holy Spirit is His ministry of intercession on behalf of those He inhabits. Because we often don’t know what or how to pray when we approach God, the Spirit intercedes and prays for us. He intercedes for us “with wordless groans,” so that when we are oppressed and overwhelmed by trials and the cares of life, He comes alongside to lend assistance as He sustains us before the throne of grace.

Revealer / Spirit of Truth: (John 14:17; 16:13; 1 Corinthians 2:12-16) Jesus promised that, after the resurrection, the Holy Spirit would come to “guide you into all truth.” Because of the Spirit in our hearts, we are able to understand truth, especially in spiritual matters, in a way that non-Christians cannot. In fact, the truth the Spirit reveals to us is “foolishness” to them, and they cannot understand it. But we have the mind of Christ in the Person of His Spirit within us.

Spirit of God / the Lord / Christ: (Matthew 3:16; 2 Corinthians 3:17; 1 Peter 1:11) These names remind us that the Spirit of God is indeed part of the triune godhead and that He is just as much God as the Father and the Son. He is first revealed to us at the creation, when He was “hovering over the waters,” denoting His part in creation, along with that of Jesus who “made all things” (John 1:1-3). We see this same Trinity of God again at Jesus’ baptism, when the Spirit descends on Jesus and the voice of the Father is heard.

Spirit of Life: (Romans 8:2) The phrase “Spirit of life” means the Holy Spirit is the one who produces or gives life, not that He initiates salvation, but rather that He imparts newness of life. When we receive eternal life through Christ, the Spirit provides the spiritual food that is the sustenance of the spiritual life. Here again, we see the triune God at work. We are saved by the Father through the work of the Son, and that salvation is sustained by the Holy Spirit.

Teacher: (John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 2:13) Jesus promised that the Spirit would teach His disciples “all things” and bring to their remembrance the things He said while He was with them. The writers of the New Testament were moved by the Spirit to remember and understand the instructions Jesus gave for the building and organizing of the Church, the doctrines regarding Himself, the directives for holy living, and the revelation of things to come.

Witness: (Romans 8:16; Hebrews 2:4; 10:15) The Spirit is called “witness” because He verifies and testifies to the fact that we are children of God, that Jesus and the disciples who performed miracles were sent by God, and that the books of the Bible are divinely inspired. Further, by giving the gifts of the Spirit to believers, He witnesses to us and the world that we belong to God.

Actually lillywold I am a Trinitarian. If you look at my post to mr. jersey I put the letters "pda" under my name which stands for "playing devil's advocate." I wanted to see how he addressed the verses I gave him like Revelation 3:14 which the Jw's use to show Jesus is a created being, as well as Proverbs 8. The oneness pentecostals love to use Isaiah 9:6 to prove that Jesus Christ is God the Father. Of course that is not what Isaiah 9:6 is teaching nor is John 14:9 teaching that Jesus is the Father.

There's accounts in the four gospels IMO that show the miraculous works of all three. Of coarse there's quite a few to choose from as far as the miracles of Jesus, but can you recognize the other two in other accounts. meaning working independently yet dependently.

You said deade, "I am in a way." That's kind like a woman saying, "I'm kind of pregnant." I fully understand there are a million examples trying to explain the Trinity and I also understand the argument that no one can comprehend or understand God etc. therefore it's no use trying to explain the Trinity. Well I happen to think there is a way, a Biblical way one can understand the Trinity without suspending one's thinking processes. Are you interested deade?

But Revelation 3:14 says Jesus is created and at John 14 it says Jesus is the Father and also at Isaiah 9:6.
Are you deliberately misunderstanding these Scripture or what?

Rev 3:14
And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God. (KJB)

This is better expressed here:

Holman Christian Standard Bible
"Write to the angel of the church in Laodicea: "The Amen, the faithful and true Witness, the Originator of God's creation says:

Thayer's Greek Lexicon
STRONGS NT 746: ἀρχή (arche)
3. that by which anything begins to be, the origin, active cause (a sense in which the philosopher Anaximander, 8th century B.C., is said to have been the first to use the word; cf. Simplicius, on Aristotle, phys. f. 9, p. 326, Brandis edition and 32, p. 334, Brandis edition (cf. Teichmüller, Stud. zur Gesch. d. Begriffe, pp. 48ff 560ff)): ἡ ἀρχή τῆςκτίσεως, of Christ as the divineλόγος, Revelation 3:14

Since Jesus (the Word) is the Creator of all things (John 1:1-3) then this is consistent with Scripture. JESUS IS NOT CREATED, BUT HE IS THE CREATOR.

John 14:9,10
Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.

Do these verses say that Jesus is the Father? ABSOLUTELY NOT. What they say is (1) that because no man has seen God the Father at any time, it is the only begotten Son who has revealed Him to me, and when we see Christ we see AN EXACT REPLICA ("express image") of the Father. Furthermore, (2) because of the Mystery of God, the Father is IN the Son, and the Son is IN the Father. There is no human explanation for this. It is a divine Mystery.

Isaiah 9:6
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

This is a prophecy regarding the Lord Jesus Christ, who was born a a human child, but is in fact "the Mighty God". So in what sense can He be called "the everlasting Father"? Since He is the Creator, He can rightly be called "the everlasting Father" of all creation.

But Revelation 3:14 says Jesus is created and at John 14 it says Jesus is the Father and also at Isaiah 9:6.
The trinity is a theory of men. or private interpretation as a person commentary like finger prints one idea can differ from anther (not a salvation issue but more how can we hear God not seen?

Isaiah 53 works a little differently than Isaiah 9:6 by adding to each other.

The work of the father and Son working together in perfect harmony and mutual submission to each other. In the end of the matter brings the peace of God that surpasses all human understanding as a mystery made know .

God is not a man as us and neither is there a fleshly mediator set between God and Man, a daysman or what some call a Pope. The Son of man as that seen refused to be called a daysman in that way. He replied only God not seen, to typify the father is good.

That would typify the father and in that way that we are to call no man on earth seen as father. There is one father of spirits.

Together as one God, with the father being in a greater position (not a greater person ) poured out the cup of wrath striking the Rock Christ. The Son who bore the sorrows of our sin... cried out to the father, the father sent a messager strengthening Jesus enabling him to finish the mutual work.

Note.... (purple in parenthesis) my offering or understanding

For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form (invisible, as the Son of God) nor comeliness; and when we shall see him(when he takes on the form of man as the Son of man seen), there is no beauty that we should desire him. He (seen and not the father not seen) is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, (in respect to the father not seen) and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes (from the father)we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord (the father not seen) hath laid on him (the Son of man seen) the iniquity of us all. He (the Son of man seen)was oppressed, and he was afflicted,(by the father not seen) yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. Isaiah53:2-7

Some may not like the word trinity but IMO here are example of three working independently yet dependently.

The Father

Luke 8
43including a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years. She had spent all her money on physicians, but no one was able to heal her. 44She came up behind Jesus and touched the fringe of His cloak, and immediately her bleeding stopped.

45“Who touched Me?” Jesus asked.

But they all denied it. “Master,” said Peter, “the people are crowding and pressing against You.”

46But Jesus declared, “Someone touched Me, for I know that power has gone out from Me.”

47Then the woman, seeing that she could not escape notice, came trembling and fell down before Him. In the presence of all the people she explained why she had touched Him and how she had immediately been healed.

The Son

7“Sir,” the invalid replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am on my way, someone else goes in before me.”

8Then Jesus told him, “Get up, pick up your mat, and walk.”

9Immediately the man was made well, and he picked up his mat and began to walk.

The Holy Spirit

did the stirring of the water in verse 7 above...

Sometimes The Father knows and does things that only He knows.
Mark 13:32
But as for that day or hour, no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.
