It will just be a recording. The way it works is someone records themselves singing just their part of the duet, then anyone can join that recording whenever they want to. In the end it looks like it was done in real time :D

Here's an example of a duet that I recorded. You'll see that I only sing certain parts and the rest is blank. When you join, you'll see the words you sing in a different color.

Beowulf is actually Old English, Norse. The language used is Anglo-Saxon (a/k/a Old English) and it predates the Middle Ages (Medieval time) by several hundred years. It was committed to writing in the 800's, but the story itself came from the oral tradition and is probably hundreds of years earlier. It's very pre-Christian and has all the typical Germanic elements. When it was committed to writing, the writing was done by Christian monks who attempted to Christianize this epic saga; those parts kind of stand out like a sore thumb in the original.

The basic story line is as you describe - one can just imagine some bard picking up his lyre late at night in a mead-hall when the fire starts to become embers and begins to tell the saga of Beowulf. Must have been awesome. It's essentially the ultimate "scary campfire story".

Many of the individuals mentioned were some of the legendary first rulers of the Germanic people which further evidences the saga's age.

This is an oldie its my first attempt at Rucian The Dragon Queen when she renounces her bad girl ways and falls in love with Koji :3 I'm aware im gonna get crap for this no matter how I explain myself I just care anymore lol

Ah yes I read that too in most accounts it was inconclusive on when it was indeed written. A lot of old Norse is kinda thrown into Christianity in attempts to reconcile the two faiths until of course Christianity overshadows it :3

The story was composed probably around the 600-700's, but it was first written somewhere between 900 and 1000 AD. The confusion is that even though it's an Anglo-Saxon "story", it's set in Scandinavia - Beowulf was a Geat (a Goth) who lived in what is now Götaland ("Goth-land") in southern Sweden.

The religion of the Germanic people at this time was essentially all the same - the Anglo-Saxons worshiped the same gods as the Norse; they just had slightly different names for them (Woden as opposed to Odin - Woden survives in our 'Wednesday' - Woden's day).

Yeah I looked that up recently as Norse Mythology is used in one of my books Im writing :3 Thor-Thursday Freya-Friday etc just as The Roman gods are used for planets
