Just another person that lacks faith in the power of God to keep what is His.
I place my hope for eternal life in Jesus. My faith is only in Jesus.
You and others that are spouting this false doctrine are trusting in your self to KEEP yourself saved.
Keep trusting in self and you will end up in Hell.

No, I trust only in Jesus. That statement is evidence of my faith. I don't know why you don't see that.

You think it is trusting in myself because I say that I must keep trusting Him. That is bad logic.

I agree with you that Hebrews 10: 26 should be understood in the context of chapter 10. I also agree that they are a testament to the grace, mercy and forgiveness found in Christ.

What I said in my post was "that if you turn away from Christ you will perish".

It is not about works. It is always about faith alone in Christ alone. He is sufficient and paid for all our sins.

The people in Hebrews 10: 26, taking in context what Hebrews 10 says, were thinking about going back to temple sacrifices.

They were like the second soil I have mentioned earlier. They were losing their faith in Christ and if they do that they will perish.

My point is they were genuine believers in real danger of perishing because of losing their faith in Christ. The writer of Hebrews is warning them what will happen if they do stop trusting Christ.
That is your problem, they aren't genuine believers. They haven't placed their faith in Jesus fully. They still think the old covenant can save them

They have faith in the old covenant not the new.

No.....We are in the Son's Hand, the Father's hand, Sealed by the Spirit of promise, saved to the uttermost and KEPT by the power of God through faith......

I KNOW THAT WHATSOEVER GOD DOES, it is EVERLASTING and he dose this so that men may fear before HIM <--Ecclesiastes 3:14
These folks that complain about "OSAS" say that we can lose our salvation by our own doing.
How is that even possible? Even in the case of apostacy, it is in God's hands.
WE CANNOT UNDO WHAT ONLY GOD CAN DO IN THE FIRST PLACE !!!!!!!!!!!!

As I said before, you faith, hope is in your self. If YOU do not turn away.
You can deny all you wish, but that is works. Salvation based on what you do.
That is a ticket to Hell.

The old covenant is that you must obey all God's laws or be punished. Do good and be blessed. Do bad and be cursed.

New covenant is about agape love and grace. Do good even to those who do evil to you, turn the other cheek, love your enemies, bless not curse those who do you wrong.

I know what you were saying. But that is not what (Heb. 10:26) is saying. You were making it out to be that if a person sins wilfully after receiving Christ, he is lost forever. And that is not what (Heb. 10:26) is saying. It is saying, you are safe because you have already brought the One True Sacrifice.

The Hebrew believers were not in danger of losing salvation. They were in danger of not moving on to what God wanted for them.

Post them, because I have read the whole bible at least 20 times in my short life and have not seen what you mean.

I have read that God will keep me in His loving arms. Even when I don't know what to pray or say God will intercede for me and many more promises.
Yes, He is doing that because you are displaying your faith everytime you come to Him in prayer. Your faith is always required. He does the rest. He is always faithful.

I will list some of the Scriptures that say if you don't continue in faith you will not be saved below:

Colossians 1: 23, 1 Corinthians 15: 2, Matthew 24: 13, Galatians 3: 3&4, Galatians 5: 2, Hebrews 3: 6&14, Hebrews 6: 4-6,
Hebrews 10: 38-39, Rev 2: 26, Rev 3: 5, Rev 3: 12, Rev 3: 21, Rev 21: 7, Mark 13: 13

These are just some of them. 1 John 5: 4-5 tells us we overcome by hanging on to our faith. A person must hang on to their trust in Christ.

Nothing in my hand I bring, simply to thy cross I cling.

Not to mention the context of that verse<----willfully forsaking the assembling of one's self together as the manner of some is and in so doing --->COUNTING THE BLOOD OF CHRIST AN ORDINARY BASE THING while TRAMPLING HIM UNDERFOOT.....

It blows my mind how SOOOOOOOO MANY yank this verse out of context to teach a salvation that can be lost.............

They have faith in the old covenant not the new.

It is still real faith. The writer of Hebrews is warning them not to go back to the Mosaic Law. Can't go back if you haven't come to Christ. There faith is weak but genuine nevertheless. That faith can die and that person can perish if they don't grow up to maturity in their faith.

You will never understand and enjoy the joy of eternal life until you take yourself out of it and base it totally on Jesus.
Put it with Him and leave it with Him.
He don't need your help.

Keep trusting Him for what exactly?
For salvation. To transform me as His Spirit works in me conforming me to His image. I can do none of that. He alone has paid for my sins. His Spirit works in me to transform me. He lives His life in me. Apart from Him, I can do nothing.

That is biblical faith. Trusting Christ alone for everything.

So then salvation/justified is sanctification?

No, I did not say that if someone "sins willfully they are lost forever". Where did I say they were lost forever?

I said if they turn away from Christ BY LOSING THEIR FAITH IN HIM they will perish. That is exactly what the Scripture says in Hebrews 10.

Scripture confirms in Hebrews 10: 29 that they were already sanctified before they turned away. That means they were real believers. To say otherwise is to deny what the Scripture says there.

Clinging to the cross is not a work. It is trusting Jesus by faith. My faith is based entirely on Him. I think we are talking past each other.
