Earlier yesterday, I allowed something to frustrate and hurt me. It started escalating in my heart and mind. I started to get angry and more and more wounded. As I was working, I silently asked my Lord to call scriptures to my remembrance, helping me move forward and get out of my head and emotions. 2 Corinthians 9:8 came to mind and this

And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.
2 Corinthians 12:9

Then it hit me…

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
1 Thessalonians 4:11 KJV

Study to be quiet…

It isn't always easy, especially if you are a thinker. The mind just goes on and on my friend, busy..busy.. busy. lol. But it is so important because wisdom, coping skills, and accurate discernment dwells in the place of stillness.

Do our own business…

When we are tending to our own garden, making sure we ourselves are rooted, there just isn’t time to be fretting about what others are doing or thinking.

Work with our hands…

If we want to keep our minds in a healthy place, we need to stay busy, being productive where and when we can.

BAM!!!

I am sharing this because I cherish how reasonable and sound He is. I mean it couldn't make more sense.. shhhhh, mind your own business and get busy. Seems pretty clear, dontcha think? Peace giving simplicity right there.

What is your favorite verses that is just so darn reasonable?

Ephesians 5:17 - do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord's will is
God doesn't want us to be ignorant, God want us to understand

Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
good, bad, neutral, all covered

Romans 12:3
an accurate sobering judgment of yourself

I hope I don't abuse 1 Cor 10:12 the wrong way
"if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall" because I might be held accountable for how I use the bible verse 1 Cor 10:12

Charli Bear Renee, I found your verse here, ... Ecc 7:18 - avoid all extremes

1Pe 3:4 But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

1Pe 4:15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters.

1Ti 5:13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

1Pe 4:3 For the time past of our life may suffice us to have wrought the will of the Gentiles, when we walked in lasciviousness, lusts, excess of wine, revellings, banquetings, and abominable idolatries:
1Pe 4:4 Wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them to the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you.

1Pe 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.

1Th 4:11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;
1Th 4:12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

This means do not act as the world acts with their loud mouths, and activities, motivated by arrogance, and wanting attention, and wanting people to know it, but be a quiet person, and do not butt in to the affairs of others, and do not gossip, and do not be a busybody in other people's affairs, but go about your own business not bothering people, so you can show the world decent and good behavior, and provide for yourself and be self sufficient the best you can without bothering people to provide for you that you can do yourself.

Psa 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.

Hello my dear one (s)...…..I just came from posting on this very subject, so some degree anyways. Someone else had posted on it, and because I was meditating on it a week or two ago, I though, hmmm, maybe I should share it again.

I am so happy to read your better written and expressed post on the same subject.

Two days ago I was looking to see about your profile and found you are a staff member. Then I though, maybe I sould not give hearts and awards etc. to a staff member, but your posts are so pleasant and Godly, I will continue. All love and blessings in Jesus Christ, Yeshua, always, amen.

When i am letting memories about past conflicts with others work on my brain i try to remember the following verse..

Philippians 4: KJV
" {8} Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things."

I try to get control of my thoughts and try to start thinking about better things rather then get bogged down in negative thinking.. Sometimes it is hard to let go out the past contentions.. But such is life as a human being on planet earth..

Be not anxious about one thing, but by prayer and supplications let your requests be made known unto God.

Two things that have helped me in my life...

a. Do not worry about something that has not happened yet
b. Do not worry about those things beyond your control

Love in Yeshua, to you and yours, brother. Hugs and God Bless.

Controlling thoughts is so important, I agree. What we dwell on is everything. I love thinking on Him because it doesn't get any better than Him.

We know, we understand, that our way and our understanding is not as good as the Lords Way and the Lords Understanding.

So we lean on the Lord by faith even though we don't know all the specifics of His Way and His Understanding.

Just like the sheep and the Shepherd. Sheep are kind of dumb. But the Shepherd knows what He is doing... And that is Who we Trust.

Have been out of pocket this week (had to decompress and prioritize my time) - focusing upon my favorite prayer...
Serenity Prayer
- Reinhold Niebuhr (1892-1971)

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
Amen.

Wow, sounds like you used your time wisely. Missed your input around here, wondered if you were ok. Yes, may we all be reasonably happy leaning on the hope of what is now and the supremely to come, all because of Him.

Job 32:11-12"Behold, I waited for your words, I listened to your reasonings, While you pondered what to say. "I even paid close attention to you; Indeed, there was no one who refuted Job, Not one of you who answered his words.

His love is patient its why He's kind.
