The head Pastor of Hillsong Australia Brian Houston is under investigation by police for allegedly covering up child sexual abuse committed by his father, this investigation follows the appearance by Houston at the Royal Commission inquiry for institutional child sexual abuse in Australia and until the matter is resolved Houston will have a cloud hanging over him and has the benefit of the presumption of innocence.

Churinga,

You put this is the BDF for biblical discussion...
would you like to pose some particular aspect that you want to discuss?

Covering up crimes is not limited to adherents to WOF doctrine.

The Royal Commission found many Christian denominations covered up crimes of sexual assault from a multitude of offenders with the Roman Catholic Church being the main culprit.

That concise truth is just never enough for some...

See?
In circumstances where you highlight a false teacher those that have been deceived will defend the false teacher because they feel the need and usually the first line of attack is to give the messenger

You mean they attack the messenger? Yes, that is true. It's always been true.

Yes i meant they will attack the messenger, and it does not matter which false teacher or false prophet that comes under scrutiny nominal Christians will follow these people for a variety of reasons where charisma and popularity are the key ingredients as distinct from sound Bible teaching.

It's pretty much all due to not enduring sound doctrine.

Now it is all positivity, false unity, compromise, pandering, "luv" &c.

Never heard of the guy. Sounds like a personal problem to me and nothing that I should be concerned with.
Hey Tourist,
Houston has become a pretty big issue, so a lot of people are starting to feel concerned.

He has an incredibly huge mega church called Hillsong, in Australia, which is where churinga is from.
And all of these legal problems are occurring in Australia as well.
So you can understand churinga's concern.

But for the rest of us, there are other issues.

The famous Hillsong musical group is a DIRECT ministry of Hillsong church,
and this musical group has become an international phenomena.

So we have 2 issues to consider:
A.) The millions generated by the musical group all go back into that particular church,
so... when your kids go to a concert, what exactly is their money supporting?
B.) Since the group is a direct ministry of that church, then IF the group is teaching any particular message, then that would be a message coming out of Hillsong church,
so... when your kids go to a Hillsong concert, what are they being taught?

So, since the Hillsong group is an international phenomenon, and it's a direct ministry (an "arm") of Hillsong church, this has created international attention, and concern, for whatever that church, and that pastor, may be doing and teaching.

So... that's what's going on.

The doctrine police do attack alright.
They attack charismatics, wof, full gospel, and the work of the Holy Spirit.

And yes they do go after the messenger while doing it.

So...pot < > kettle. Big Time

I am no hillsong fan
I am no wof er

But i got enough sense to know prospering is not a bad thing. That is ALL THERE IS IN HEAVEN.
So to blackball anyone that is christian and wealthy is so juvenile it is staggering.

Ask yourself why you don't see charismatics Obcessed with baptist failures and false doctrines????

You would think things like moral baptist crimes and the baptists nuts screaming at military funerals dont even exist.

Why do you people seize every possible opportunity to blackball entire groups over some unknown supposed failure????

...because you see those groups as so vile and despicable that it just must Belong to the entire group.

Stop hating on your brothers
