Not so in John's day. His lifestyle and preaching DREW all Israel TO him. And all Israel considered John to be a true prophet.

As for Spiritual warfare, nobody can deny that fact. Nobody.
Yup, John did. But a lot of modern proselytizers who think they are John are driving them away.

That's why we have to get into the siege warfare stuff.

Well my friend, I can see that ideologically we will have to part ways.

You believe that the fallen world does NOT need any more John the Baptists (or his message),
while I believe that the world DOES need (and desperately) MORE legitimate, spirit filled,
duly commissioned, bona fide John the Baptists preaching the same unadulterated, straightforward message.

I don't believe anything even close to what you think I believe.

Neither does the Pope. He believes in evolution, ecumenicalism, billions of years, and that good men everywhere will bring world peace.

So.....what is your belief system? Similar to the Pope's?

No I don't happen to believe any of those.

But (to get back to the topic) I also don't believe a combative approach is always or even usually the best tack to take in witnessing.

Such an unfriendly and unengaging first post.
Not to mention a pointless question. Every Christian you ask will say yes, typically referring to themselves for starters. And that is regardless of how their spiritual life is.
Not to mention the term "real Christian" is such a vague and subjective term. To some a "real Christian" is one who is theologically focused and on point in every facet. To others a real Christian is more determined by their life. Or some may view it as one who actively "works" for their salvation. And that's just a few examples.

So as stated above by another poster, you'll have to be more clear. I've seen people call others heretics for disagreeing on the age of the earth. And I've seen people consider others Christians that include false teachings.

It's all so unclear.
Had to give you a winner on this. Right to the point, why waste time. lol (y)

Yes but there are few....

There will be Christians right up to the day of the return of Jesus.. There may only be a handful on the day of his return but they will be here.. :)
Might agree with that, a few. Many are called but few are chosen.

Well what was Jesus like. He wasnt' called christian, but a RAbbi, then after he went to be with the Father, Christian, seems named after Christ. He didn't condemn the women caught in adultery, as they stood with a big rock in their hand, he said, you without sin cast the first stone, they all dropped the rocks, and Jesus said, Women where are your accussers, to me I feel love in that, then he said, " neither do I comdenm you, go and sin no more. "

I agree . Man condemns, Jesus didn't. The HOly spirit convicts, that's the HOly Spirit, not us. The HOly spirit comes from God. Condemnation comes from a human mouth. Conviction, comes from the heart of God. Then you say, what could people do , Pray. Jesus told Peter, this. Satan wanted to sift you as wheat, but I prayed for you.

1Kings 18..... does not get any more confrontational than that. Jesus cleasned the temple twice, humiliating and wrecking the temple franchise the Saducees had set up.

There is little doubt confrontation has its place in Gods plans.

38Then the fire of the LORD fell and consumed the burnt offering and the wood and the stones and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench. 39And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces and said, “The LORD, he is God; the LORD, he is God.” 40And Elijah said to them, “Seize the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape.” And they seized them. And Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon and slaughtered them there.

Amen Bro. DAvid encouraged himself, when no one else could, this word, is a miracles, admist many others. No special man, eas Elijah, a phrophet, yes, but a human being, and at a time, went into hidding, being afraid, and depressed, telling God, that he might as well take him now, since he was going to die, anyway. Jezebel was killing off the phrophets in that story. Instead of the water quenching the fires, the fire quenched those waters, o_O God is a warrior, and he does fight for us, why be a worrier then. Like Love, many water's cannot quench Love, a fire, God is love, a consuming fire. :) Ty for posting this amazing bible verse.

Yes, I think delivery matters sometimes more than the message. We have to quit beating people over the head with the scripture.

1 Pet. 4:14, 15 "If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men's matters."
