To sell your coat and buy a sword is pretty extreme. To say it is better to have a weapon than to have warmth at night is a serious warning. Is it possible that Jesus was telling them that they will need it for selfdefence? How does this apply when all the disciples we're killed by authorities in one way or another?

It has been said the swords in that time were used for more than just battle…….what exactly I do not know.

I do know that the Two-Edged Sword emitting fromthe Mouth of our Lord is that truth that separates...…….
