Let's, you and me...

You ever in a season that kicks your hiney bo, with such force and discomfort that moving forward seems near impossible?

Sure, every last one of us, since the dawn of time, we have walked and will continue to walk through the blizzards.

Look at the men and women of the bible and the people of the wild wild west...or how about the times when Hitler ran his murderous muck?

Holy Moly, life can be overwhelming when we hone in on the what ifs or even the uncomfy what are things in our lives. We all know pain, loss, insecurities, struggles, hardships, and uncertainties, yada yada yada…

But may I remind us all of these things we have too…

We all have, right now, the breath of Yahweh.
We have a place to go when we are feeling low. This world has darkness, sure, but doesn't that point to the awesomeness of His light?

How can we help others, shining His light, if we don't share in the hardships; also, though, how can we help others, and point to Him, if we allow those struggles to consume us?

Seriously, let's, you and me, look at all the beauty. We have children, furr babies, warm fuzzy moments, nature, connection with those who really care, showers, internet, yummy food, most of us can walk and see, hear, smell and touch. Most of us can learn. How about laughter, smiles, and comfy blankets, and on and on.

Please, my precious loves who are so loved by God. Let's take a moment, you and me, and go to His feet, and ask for not one thing, just bask in the many blessings already given.

I know life gets weary and things are broken, and those shattered pieces ache. But that is not the only truth, and we need to call that to remembrance too…

Let's, you and me, rest in His healing embrace because there is so much to be thankful for. The life-giving thoughts that produce more of the same start with a great big smiles of seeing the lovely and the hope of more to come.

Let's, you and me, do that. Shall we?

With Him, there is fullness of Joy, and pleasures evermore.

Thank you, your kind words blessed me, Tom. I think we all get distracted in harder times and harder things, huh? We are so blessed, though, with Him.

We do. I have a habit to 'go worldy' when I'm struggling. It's taken me a while to realise I always need to approach things through Christ.

Yes, life does get weary, and the broken and shattered pieces do ache.

Speaking of fur babies, my wife Darlene has two, Tango and Sugar. She is a cat person. We each have a daughter too. As far as nature is concerned the plan is to leave the traffic congestion in Florida and move to Gatlinburg, Tennessee in about 2 years. We both like mountains, forests, streams and creaks and assorted wild life. Actually, creaks are what you get when you get older but my wife wants to live by a creek.

The population of Florida has practically doubled in the time I have lived here and it is very much a concrete jungle. We live 5 miles from the Gulf of Mexico but I have only been there twice since moving from Orlando to the Tampa / St. Petersburg, Clearwater metropolitan area. 4 years ago. All told I probably only have been to the beach on the Atlantic side 10 times or so, mostly Daytona Beach and Cocoa Beach.

Really, the only things I have done since living in Florida is go to Walt Disney World and Universal Studios when I lived in Orlando. Probably been there 50 or 60 times as I only lived an hour away. Mostly what I have done is work and I can do that in any state. Hopefully, I will be able to retire full-time in 2 or 3 years.

Overcoming trial and hardship with the grace of God is part of the defining process of who we are. You cannot grow physically, mentally or spiritually if God constantly provides a hedge around you that shelters you from the outside world. Personally, I am a graduate from the School of Hard Knocks. Some of us learn the hard way I suppose but I have to believe that this has made me a more humble and effective servant of the Lord.

Life is an adventure worth living and well worth the cost of admission.

The struggle is real.

It's really tempting to turn away when things feel like they are falling apart. I have learned that when I feel my worst and nothing is working out that I need to be grateful in that moment. That's when I break out my gratitude list and try to add 5 items.

Gratitude lists are so simple yet really effective when they're used.

I can not emphasize enough how much I appreciate when folks share their thoughts and lives, it is such an honor to see and to hear. I also love how you always talk about your lovely wife. It shows the Lord, her and your yourself such respect. All of u deserve integrity given and received.

Tango and Sugar are such sweet kitty names. Speaking of sweet, moving with her and them to Tennessee, with beautiful mountains, trees and creeks, sounds so delightful. What a fun adventure for you guys.

Oh and I couldn't agree more with what you were sharing about the school of hard knocks, how it is by design good for us, how they are a blessing, hard received but much that has, in the end, brought much to be thankful for.

Thanks tourist, to you and your wife, for being a blessing to others.

Hamar, I totally agree, it can get quite daunting, but gratitude is the best medicine in those times of trouble.
